Very helpful staff. Lovely looking building in nice location . Nice clean single room with good shower. Attractive garden with outside tables. Enjoyed my traditional Scottish meal. Relaxed atmosphere. Nice walk to river Spey starts just over the road. easy walk into town.

Matress would benefit from a layer of memoryfoam so springs couldnt be felt. Could do with socket near to table that had kettle on so you dont have to put kettle on dressing table in front of tv.

The room was very comfortable, and very warm (particularly considering the current energy prices). Reception staff were very helpful both before and during the stay.

It isn't that I disliked it, but a couple of things of note... Breakfast staff didn't seem very interested in being there and the breakfast itself wasn't of the highest standard. There was entertainment on both nights I stayed on the ground floor, which was great, however, when I went to my room on the 2nd floor I could still easily hear it. This wasn't an issue for myself as much as I was sat in room working until late, but if you intended to go to sleep it could have been an issue and for rooms on the 1st floor would likely have been louder. These aren't things that would be suffice to stop me staying again, and will use the hotel when in the area, but something to note.

The staff were very attentive and very hard working. I enjoyed a relaxing 2 night stay. The food was very tasty and the menu was good. Stefan, one of the managers works very hard to make all the guests feel welcome and looked after. He looks after his team and you can tell they respect him.

I booked for dinner, bed and breakfast. What I didn't know is that you only get £20 allocation from one menu or 2 courses on the other. It worked out fine in the end, but I feel this should have been explained on the booking.com site.

What a charming, traditional hotel with modern twists. It had a great atmosphere, bar music, enthusiastic staff that seemed to love their jobs, chatty, helpful, just a great vibe overall! Based on main street so location is perfect. My room was small but totally acceptable for a solo traveller such as myself. It was cosy, clean & comfortable. I wasnt expecting much for the price but my expectations were exceeded & I really liked the place. Something else I feel I should mention was the hotel smelt really fresh and lovely - I noticed diffusers dotted about which I liked. A nice smell can really enhance experiences. Check in was friendly, easy going, welcoming, and check out was so easy. Exceptional warm staff with kind personalities. I’d go out my way to stay again, no it isnt a 5 star resort spa, but neither does it claim to be. If you want that, pay 5 star prices :-) This is a modest, pleasant 3 star which is great value, has a great atmosphere, and everything you need for a good nights stay (or longer?)

A cheap stay that was, warm, cosy and homely after long days of cold autumnal highland walks. The hotel made a great base for sleeping and showering in-between dinners at local family members homes and after big walks. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food, but we did have drinks in the bar which had a lovely country vibe.

Theres nothing that I didn't like about the hotel. I enjoyed the hotel for what is it - if you're looking for somewhere fancy and chic then go elsewhere. The Craiglynne provides good sleeping arrangements with a hot shower and kind staff. The decor is a bit dated but its totally liveable and does the job for an economical stay.

I booked this at a really low rate for I person plus dog following a month in campervan to Orkney. In need of a bath.....The lovely receptionist quickly moved me to a room that was easier to access with the dog and although the plumbing needed speeding up on the second floor I loved everything about my stay. Good breakfast, comfy bed, lovely staff. Taylor on reception was great.

I recognise its a beautiful big old building. There may be creaky floorboards but of no concern to me.

Craiglynne is a lovely building in a very convenient location for visiting Grantown itself and exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and our room was spotlessly clean and well presented. We enjoyed our evening meal, but were a bit disappointed with breakfast. There are lots of cosy communal areas which would have been nice to spend time in had we been staying longer, which we would certainly do next time. Some parts of the hotel do look a bit tired, but improvements are being made. Overall, we found out DB&B booking to be good value for money and we'd have no hesitation in booking again.

Breakfast was disappointing as there were meats and cheese provided for a continental breakfast, but no breakfast rolls, only thick, bland, white toasting bread, not even a choice of brown.

On arrival the hotel looked dated and well worn. However, overall this was a lovely comfortable hotel. The room was a decent size with all the facilities you could want. Everything worked as it should and shower was good (a rarity in some hotels) and bed clean & comfy. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. The lounge and bar were comfy and everyone so friendly. The staff were very efficient and despite being busy, nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our room which over looked the gardens. It was large & spacious. The bathroom was small & the shower was weak but acceptable. So much thought & attention to detail for Christmas stay. Breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of choice as were all the meals. Exceptional chef! Staff were excellent & so polite & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

The food & beverages waiter Mark had an attitude issue. Were told he didn't think we should have our mobile at the table, when we were waiting to hear from our daughter. Also referred to our meal as "what solids would you like"! Our bed was hard. Bottom sheet was placed directly onto old coin type of mattress with no mattress protector or topper so very hard & uncomfortable.

Easy parking, courteous reception, courteous dining room staff, evening meal available, nice short walking distance to Grantown on Spey , Petrol station also in town .

Car park entrance and exit are very well rutted and need to be treated with a bit extra care , main hotel entrance is a bit challenging with heavy bags , lots of door steps , the chicken and haggis evening meal had only the tiniest amount of haggis !
