House was absolutely gorgeous, and the room and views were exceptional, we got a free upgrade to room 2 and it was facing Shibden Hall. Room was decent size, very clean, bed was comfortable and the pillows were amazing!! For anyone wanting to visit Halifax, I would highly recommend this property, the hosts were friendly and not intrusive and were more than willing to chat and offer their knowledge of the local area. Breakfast was amazing and cooked by Adeles son, sorry I forgot your name but would like to thank him as he really did go above and beyond. Stay here is my advice and you won't be disappointed, just bring some comfy shoes, lots of walking to be done 😀

There was nothing not to like.

Shibden Hall View is a beautiful historic property hosted by a lovely, friendly couple. We stayed in a cosy, quiet, spotlessly clean room with a big comfortable bed, cotton bedding, extra pillows, and heavy blackout curtains. We had two great nights of sleep. The bathroom was stylish with fluffy bath sheets and the biggest bath I've ever been in. It's just a minor thing for me. I'm only 4ft 11in and I couldn't see in the bathroom mirror 😳 luckily I had brought a magnifying mirror with me, so it wasn't a problem. It was nice to have a fridge with fresh milk and bottled water and a coffee maker and kettle in the room. The communal areas and gardens were stylish. The breakfast was delicious with generous portions of good quality food. I loved the slabs of toast and butter. There were plenty of information leaflets about Halifax and the surrounding areas available. It was a perfect place to spend a weekend in Halifax for my husband's birthday, revisiting fond childhood memories of his maternal grandparents, Edward and Jean Horsfall. He was so proud to see his great-grandfather Hugh Campbell's inventions of gas engines in the Calderdale Industrial Museum.

This is a beautiful property built in the 1700s, a lot of the old features have been kept. Our room no 3 was absolutely delightful 4 poster bed most comfortable, lovely clean linen and the most fluffiest of towels. Fresh milk and water supplied plenty of coffee and tea, the added touch of fresh flowers was a really nice touch. Breakfast was delicious very high quality food. Adele and Phil were most pleasant of hosts and nothing was too much trouble and we hope to see you again soon. There is a lovely outside seating area with the most spectacular views of the country side.

We loved everything about this place! Phil couldn't have done enough for us! The attention to detail for the customers needs is exceptional. You can feel the love and passion Phil has put into this home from home. We've never been somewhere and felt so welcome and comfortable. The breakfast is out of the world! We highly recommend this place! It's a fab location close enough to lots to see in West Yorkshire. We will definitely return!

Phil was a friendly, very welcoming host.. Had the Main Suite, an amazing room with very high standard of en-suite amenities.. and the view was outstanding.. lovely gated gardens gave it the feel of a 'secret garden'.. very soothing pond with huge carp, so much so my daughter filmed and has as calming screen saver on her phone!.. easy on-site parking.. 5 min walk from the house to the start of walk into Shibden Estate, which can be seen from the bedroom windows.. Highly recommend.. and will definitely stay again..

The bed was very comfortable. The garden has a beautiful view out over the hills. It's very easy to get into the centre of Halifax from the hotel and parking was easy. The owners were very friendly. The coffee machine in the room, along with fresh milk in the mini fridge and bottled water was a lovely touch. There were ear plugs in the bedside table which was thoughtful, although we didn't need to use them. We stayed here because we were going to a gig at The Piece Hall and we've decided that we will definitely stay here again and use it as a base to explore parts of Yorkshire.

Shibden hall view is spotless clean and the owners very welcoming and it does have views of Shibden hall. Pre order breakfast the night before and the breakfast was really nice and value for money. You can walk to Shibhen hall and that is definitely worth a visit. You can get the bus into Halifax but we choose to get a taxi which is about the same price. Definitely would stay again.

It wasn't something I didn't like, but apparently they used to have honesty bar, I think they should try again with it, but understand some people aren't very honest.

Loved the friendliness of my host Phil. He truly went the extra mile for me. Loved the outside area. The complete quietness, the quirkiness of the accommodation, loved the mugs in the room , I have a thing about mugs ! Little fridge was handy , and there being a large brolly there for me to use was very much appreciated. That was a good touch I thought . Oh and the breakfast was excellent . Thank you Phil for your kindness , and for being mega helpful with reversing my car for me you are a complete star .

I didn't like that everything was on a hill! But nothing could be done about that. That would be my only complaint .

What an absolute find. On our arrival, we were met with a huge smile and a very warm welcome from Phil the host and absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him and his wife Adele. The hotel is beautiful, furnished to a very high standard and in keeping with the age of the property. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated and provide everything you need, with tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash and smart tv. the list goes on, oh what can I say about the bed, best nights sleep I have had in a long time and the luxury bedding and soft pillows made it heavenly , From our room window we looked out over Shibden Hall, and its surroundings, the view is breathtaking. The peaceful outdoor seating area was a quiet retreat from everyday urban life and was just what the doctor ordered, taking our morning coffee here before going to eat a delicious well presented full English (our choice) although there is a menu with other delicious choices.. Whilst the hotel gives the illusion of being in the middle of nowhere, Halifax town and other attractions are only a five to ten minute drive away and Shibden Hall and its beautiful grounds and park are within walking distance. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience a 5* facility at an unbeatable price. We will definitely book to stay here again

That I couldn't stay for longer

We stayed here as we were at a concert at The Piece Hall. Location was good, only 5 min taxi ride away. Room was nice, very clean everywhere. Good quality food at breakfast.

Bed wasn’t the most comfortable, a bit lumpy. Would have liked to have seen a selection of continental breakfast items laid out to choose from and would have liked to know what items were on the cooked breakfast and choose what we wanted rather than just being given what the chef cooked, perhaps you could include a list of items on the menu that guests have to select from the evening before.
