The staff were lovely. The hotel is very close to both train stations and the shopping precinct as well as the square with restaurants and bars. Very nicely decorated and clean.
It's not that I didn't like something. I requested the possibility of an early check in and received no response. When I arrived after a very long journey I was told check in was two pm but when I explained I'd requested an early check in but had no response the receptionist kindly asked me to wait whilst she I assume contacted the cleaning staff and a room was allocated almost immediately. The room unfortunately had a few things wrong for example the shower jets did not work but the main shower did so I didn't mind. The bath was not plumbed in so was out of use but again I did not need to use it with the shower facility. The hairdryer in the drawer but also attached to the wall was very hard to use but I appreciated the availability of a hairdryer.

Property was nice
Beware, I informed the staff that I didn’t need to park in the car park as I hadn’t used their car park and paid £162 on the day for the 2 nights. Checked my credit card statement and they charged me £172 (£10 for parking without telling me they were going to do this). I would have expected they tell me this before charging me. Have sent numerous emails about this and 17 days late no sign of a refund and admin staff don’t seem to understand the refund process. CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU LEAVE SO THEY DON’T OVERCHARGE!

Breakfast was a buffet with good options, only the coffee could be better, maybe coffee machines. Lunches and dinners were very good in quality for price and tasty. The location was super for us. On one side, the hotel was across from the Bradford Interchange for trains, buses, their travel info centres and a taxi rank. On the other side a short walk to a small mall with decent basic services and meals. Plus in the historic core with the amazing Wool Exchange and Alhambra buildings. Further, staff were very kind and helpful for our stay of 9 days.
Definitely need better quality coffee, I suggest coffee machines with choices. Some rooms need upgrading; we had to change and did get a much better room regarding air quality.

Breakfast was very good. Stayed for just a night to go to the Alhambra Theatre......great position, Good parking, good room, good breakfast and excellent value. Will use again if we are enjoying a theatre trip.
Nothing really, it was a little nosy outside in the early hours but I don’t know what the hotel could have done about that!

The staff were excellent Amanda and Robert was excellent host and looked after me and my sons needs.housekeepers did a excellent job. But some of the rooms need to be updated and maybe extractor fans in the bathroom would be good.the room did tend to get dust after a few days need to be cleaned and hoovered up most days as we did have our meals in our rooms and breakfast to as my son has special needs.superfical.can just let housekeeping know when you need your room to be cleaned.maybe polish and dust all the rooms before guests check in.as I have asthma.
Rooms were dusty.and had the odd spiders Web on the ceiling.dusting all areas and air sanitisers or a spray in room before arrival would be so better and make the rooms more fresher and smelling good.exta duvet would be good as my son feels the cold at night.had to change batteries on TV remote and it was taped up at the back where you but your batteries in.maybe replace tv remote.so much better. But all the staff were so very friendly.as I am a Yorkshire man. Great job and well done to all.i will stay again thanks to all of the staff.mr harrower

The location was not the final destination on this occasion, as I was en route to Cambridge so stopped in this location in order to break my journey. The location of the hotel is good as it is a stones throw away from the train station. I met a friend for dinner in The Avenue Bar & Restaurant where Pete (Duty Manager) looked after us exceedingly well for the whole evening, both with his professionalism & attentiveness - simply 1st class service! Nothing was too much trouble; from wine recommendations to chef request. Pete's people skills are exemplary & with his amazing sense of humour, made us feel 'at home'. I would highly recommend Pete. The breakfast was excellent (both continental & cooked) a variety of fresh fruit juices and cereal, dried fruits, yoghurts, a selection of bread with toaster, as well as patisserie which consisted of pan au chocolat & pan aux raisin & cinnamon swirls. The cooked vegetarian option being well catered for (in the form of vegetarian/vegan sausage) to accompany the fluffy hash browns, nicely cooked fried bread, quality baked beans, fresh tomato & button mushrooms, and eggs (cooked to your taste). It was evident that some of the staff were training (as shadowing). We all have to learn and so naturally allowances were made. This particular member of staff was very pleasant and I'm sure that once settled in, they will be just fine! My room was nice & cosy with a quirky little landing type (where the wardrobe was) between the bedroom and the bathroom and it served it's purpose for my stay. I had just booked a standard room, knowing I wouldn't be spending much time in it, having a full schedule. This was my first stay at The Great Victoria (I know it will be the first of many) even though I had dined in the bar during lunchtime when I worked opposite at The Law Courts (albeit in a different chapter of life).
It was my first trip since the reopening of everywhere, so I was just happy to have got there at all (in familiar surroundings). Hence on this occasion, it is not applicable to state.

The room was an upgrade on what was ordered but as it was on the fourth floor the windows were a little small but were not overlooked. The location is very good as it is in the heart of Bradford with its own parking. The breakfast, eggs to order, not known as scrambled was the default, however, these came in good time and the supporting fare was well presented and tasty.
The room was a little chilly but a mobile heater was donated by the reception. This probably because the remote for the air conditioning had been mislaid and there were no spares. There was a large bath in the bathroom, which was not connected and served as an odd ornament. One annoying trait was that the tap, hot and cold, on the sink did not extend far enough over the sink. Difficult to fill kettle but also when washing hands, water ran down outside of the sink onto cabinet top and then cascaded onto the floor. A design flaw that could easily be rectified.

Superb location a stone's through away from Bradford Interchange providing excellent public transport links (bus and train). Minimal distance to cart baggage and luggage around to check-in time when arriving by public transport. On the door step to St. Georges Hall for shows and late evening theatre performances. Short walking distance to Centenary Square to sample various eating and drinking establishments. Very spacious hotel with wide corridor aisles, and an "old charm", classy feeling. Very well kept and presented room (standard twin), spacious and comfortable. Great facilities, modern bathroom with instant hot water and refreshing shower.
Nothing to add here given it was a 1 night stay. Generally, was very pleasantly surprised. Great value for money booking.

All your staff are wonderful. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom. The views were far reaching.
There were many stains on the carpet and settee in our room. We could hear what the people in the next room were saying. The person in the room above did lots of walking about early in the morning and it was very loud in our room. Some more soundproofing is needed. The breakfast cook was unable to produce a soft boil eggs on the three mornings. The breakfast is not as good as other hotels of thesame rating.

Our train from York was cancelled when we arrived, replaced with bus to Leeds then train to Bradford.Bus journey was terrible and my wife became ill.Bradford station sent a man with us to hotel to assist. The hotel staff were excellent, comforting my wife whilst I booked in,then providing assistance for lift and luggage. They provided fresh made coffee to save us making some.Room was excellent decor, well fitted and very clean. They gave us total assistance for meals etc. We were due to catch a coach from station on the following morning to Wales.Wife too ill so cancelled trip and hotel booked us in for another day. Hotel arranged for manager to escort us to rail station and stay until railway staff put us on train. This hotel was excellent for customer care.
