Boathouse Hotel

The room was large and the bed including the pillow was very comfortable. The staff were really helpful and always pleasant. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had, where it was an individual made to order 'home-cooked' breakfast! The evening meal was very delicious. A lovely, coastal hotel with home comforts.

The only problem I found was access to rooms. There are two ground floor rooms but they still have a small step as well as having to negotiate heavy doors. The inside access to the restaurant has three steps but you can access it by wheelchair via an outside route.

After having my reservation canceled by the Anchorage Hotel and terrible experience with that business owner because of a storm and a delayed ferry, I had to quickly find a new place to stay. Thank goodness I did because I could walk with my pack from the ferry port to the hotel and it was located both near the beach, but even more happily, right at the end of the hiking trail. My goal in Holyhead was to go hiking and it was life changing! The staff were kind and I didn’t need much, but a place to lay out my things and repack. I had a great night of sleep and a lovely view from my window. I’m so grateful I found them!

it was a brilliant location for a morning ferry- but I also wish that traffic had allowed me to arrive earlier as it was the perfect place to start exploring Holyhead beyond the docks. Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Brief stay but would visit again.

Struggled with the WiFi- password worked but then the provider asked questions I couldn’t answer so I gave up !! I know I could have easily asked for help at reception and got it sorted but it wasn’t important to me as it was just a flying visit.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the rooms, though small, were comfortable and had everything one would need for a good night's sleep and a fresh start the next morning. Overall, the place seemed a bit run down and in need of some TLC. That being said, the staff and their willingness to help a group of weary travelers made my family's stay excellent, and I would absolutely go back and stay again.

There was really nothing to not like about the place, it's a nice little place on the sea away from the noise of downtown with, and I can't say this enough, a great staff of wonderful people.

What a find. A very under rated hotel given the star rating on the web. Lovely staff and great local food. Its not the Ritz, for what these guys achieve, it's better!

We chose the Boathouse because of the location close to the walking and trekking we went for. The Hotel was excellent, staff were very welcoming and our room with the sea view made it more special.

nice large room with plenty of storage, immaculately clean, comfy bed, fluffy towels, lots of lights, sofa, desk, a window that opened, nicely decorated. staff friendly and tried their best to help

few minor details - view of sea would have been better if double glazed window had not been misted over. it needs replacing. had to go downstairs to request a replacement toilet roll as no spare in bathroom tv remote was knackered and needs replacing urgently both waste bins need emptying DAILY. one was full when we first arrived (bathroom one) and on second day the room was not serviced, I.e. beds made bins emptied.

Diinner was Excellent. Good choice. Beautifully presented. Large portions. Delicious. Great value for money. Service was extremely good too. Everyone and everything was absolutely spot on. Would definitely recommend.

nothing to dislike! The room was spacious, we even had a two seater settee and coffee table with load of room in the place. Enjoyed a relaxing evening after having dinner. Also, very, very clean, as was the bathroom.
