well run hotel with nice interior. Restaurant is way better than you would expect for a 2 star hotel. I think it should have 3 stars. It's obvious that a lot of hard work is being done to make it the standard that it is. The outside seating area is a great asset. Unfortunately the weather was wet so I didn't use it.

Breakfast was a bit late on a Saturday for early risers so I missed out on what I imagine would have been a great breakfast. Acoustics in the room was not great. I was wakened by some sounds e.g. extractor fans going on and off but this is sometimes unavoidable in older hotel properties.

All of the above, we enjoyed our stay immensely and the staff were so efficient and easy to talk to. Our room was clean every day. Room 17 was the best room for us. We had delicious meals there, including the breakfasts. We met lots of travelers from all over the place. Thanks to everyone who attended to our every need.

There was nothing we didn't like, no complaints whatsoever.

We stayed the night before going to a wedding at the nearby Pittodrie House Hotel. Our stay at Ardennan was much better in every respect, and cheaper too. The staff were great and the check in and out process was seamless. We had dinner at the hotel, we were joined by two other couples and their 8 year old daughter, and it superb! The service was second to none as well. The breakfast was a simple help yourself for continental with a full Scottish fry up if desired. All great. Overall a really friendly welcoming hotel which I'd highly recommend.

We stayed at the hotel and also booked a family function - the staff were extremely helpful and it was even better than anticipated. I have seen negative comments about the hotel desk not being manned at all times but the staff went out of their way to ensure we knew when they were leaving and asking if we needed anything. The area is so peaceful - we loved sitting on the terrace listening to the birdsong.

Such a lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They were exceptionally helpful. The hotel is well decorated and the bedroom was of a high standard. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast is brilliant. We had dinner both nights that we stayed. The food is very flavourful with lots of unusual dishes to choose from. Compliments to the chef. We'll definitely be returning to Ardennan House Hotel.

We couldn't find anything that we didn't like. Just wish we could've stayed longer.

we loved staying in the chalet style rooms outside, we were able to park right outside the room and it felt better that we didn’t disturb anyone when we got back late at night from a wedding.

Even although there is a roof outside, when it was raining the roof was leaking all over so you would open the door and get dripped all over straight away. Also had to move some outside furniture at night as it was a metal table/chairs and the drips were making a horrible noise.

Recently and tastefully decorated throughout. Couldn't fault the breakfast and if you want to fill up for most of the day then go for the full Scottish breakfast. Located a short drive from the centre of Inverurie and easily accessible by foot if you don't mind a bit of a walk. Large room with ample storage and comfy lounging chairs provided.

Mobile phone wi-fi connection wasn't great and kept dropping the signal.

The hotel was lovely and clean. The reception doesn't open or isn't staffed before 4pm. The bar doesn't open until 5pm so nowhere to get a drink other than the tea and coffee in your room, which are plentiful. The food was an bonus, absolutely lovely for all 6 meals. Would definitely eat here again if in the area.

On arrival our shower wasn't working, disappointing it hadn't been spotted before. staff opened an additional room for us to use a shower in and had it replaced by the evening.

great value for your money, lovely clean and modern hotel and food is fantastic. scrambled egg was the best I ever had. most hotels cook in microwave but not here. I have stayed in the much more expensive hotel just along the road from here but would stay here at every given opportunity, bigger & nicer rooms

I was a 'bad' guest: I left very early in the morning (to get to my 'work'), so did not take the breakfast on any of my 4 nights stay, and back 'late' mid-evening mealtime.. BUT the position of the hotel, in Port Elphinstone, was ideal for my work at Newmachar golf event. This may have suited ME, but maybe not necessarily the Hotel, nor my neighbouring room...with my early departures a around 05.30 for my stay! That said, the neighbouring Inverness-bound A-Road is more of an 'annoyance', and all are probably well used to it.
