The location.

we booked a sea view room but was given a side sea view. Plus the balcony wasn’t private, anyone could walk onto it from outside. When asking to change room, the only option was to pay for an upgrade. The set up of the new room was fantastic. However the bed is quite small and needs replacing. In fact the hotel needs to spend money on updating a lot of the furniture. for example where there is wear and tear on the seats in the hotel reception. The furniture/leather is worn away/cracked/ripped. Some of the chairs in the room where a little like that too. but I would say that the bed definitely needs replacing. Too small and uncomfortable. (we are not big people either)

Good location for sight seeing , excellent food . Friendly staff .

Didn’t agree with the £100 deposit on arrival, which we thought was just for damage or breakages to the room We were told Several people had complained . Also wanted to pay for food and drinks at the end of our stay , Told not a problem , so we signed for one day and reached £58 then the next day told we had to pay as we had reached over £50 of our £100 deposit on arrival. Very strange and never come across this before . We were in a premier deluxe with balcony ,room quite small and tight and decor ready for update. Ie curtains hanging off curtain rail . Not a good impression as you walk into a room …

Excellent choice with fantastic views.

Though the menu states that dietary issues will be catered for I found this a challenge. no problem at breakfasts.had fish and chips first night but on the second night I advised the waitress of my issues and on return she advised, advice from kitchen, salad or nothing. in a 4 star hotel i found this hard to understand given food was getting prepared fresh. as it turned out i got the steak meal but was unable to attend next night due to s and d plus pain which had lasted most of that day.also missed breakfast next morning. after some discussion on the thurs night i got an excellent pasta dish minus spice, black or white pepper.

It was a great location lovely views of Edinburgh. We usually stay in Edinburgh but this time decided to stay outside. We drove to Edinburgh zoo easy drive took about 40mins, went into Edinburgh city and went the Hard Rock Cafe for food which was great. The next day we drove to St Andrews an hour the other direction. I’d recommend staying in this hotel if you wanted to drive around as well. It’s free to park whereas Edinburgh is expensive to park(adds up so if hotel cheap it might be small room plus parking making it more than this hotel). The hotel rooms are big, which is why we booked, our daughter is non verbal autistic with sensory behaviour etc so plenty of space for her, there is a pool a mini arcade and a soft play. Breakfast was great and we had dinner too one night which was lovely. Overall for the price the facilities the location friendly staff I would recommend this hotel, if need big room we got the family executive room , there are stairs up to your mezzanine bedroom, I stayed up there with my youngest and my husband stayed downstairs with our disabled daughter so her sister wasn’t disturbed and could sleep. 3 double beds overall. Hope this helps as well if disabled family are looking to stay with young children. Lots of room and balcony to sit on to look out over the views. There is a shop on site 9-5 cash only looked like. Short drive down the road there is a co op,and 15 mins the other direction is an Asda and Aldi.

We stayed 3 nights, there was nothing that stood out we didn’t like. The pool was quite busy but we managed fine and our girls enjoyed the pool time.

All staff, from hospitality and entertainment were extremely professional and friendly. Reception staff were exceptional. Breakfast was really good, but would have liked if a continental choice was also available. Lovely warm pool. Room very comfortable and relaxing with beautiful view. Pettycur beach with it's lovely white sand was spotless. It even had a nice young council operative, litter picking whilst we were there.

Water features in the pool not working, zip slide inoperable and some of the machines in the arcade were out of order. Would have thought that everything would have been fully functioning for the start of the holiday season. Shower in room not the greatest, shower wand would be much better.

The location is great. View is great if you have a front facing room with a balcony. It's worth paying the extra .Food in the restaurant was a bit expensive but was worth it. Breakfast was very good. Staff were lovely.

Unfortunately, when we stayed there was a wedding .we did expect some noise but there was a couple arguing very loudly just before midnight, which was annoying. The swimming pool is open to everyone from caravan site Would have been nice for hotel residents to have been allocated a time slot just for them. To many children in pool when we were there.

Friendly staff and helpful, outstanding locatiom rught opposite the beach. I also loved the view from room and the balcony. I was nt able to get washing powder for laundrette and lady on receprion went over and beyond her duty of care and helped by sourcing some at 9pm. We were caught in really bad rain had to wash our jackets ans clothes and again the staff was lovely and stayed late to wait with us while we used laundrette.

The pull put bed was very noisy and rather uncomfortable The small extra bed to the side of the single bed was tiny only good for a you g child. The food was limited and not much choice. want able to get a cappucino late unless requested it after 10am Only coffee available for breakfast was Filter. I asked for either almond or oat milk and was brought soya milk. It didnt seem to cater for people with allergies. Food was ok but could have been more variaty. The pool is tiny so we didnt use it as we are swimmers we prefer at least 20 Meter pool. In summer inagine not needed as has the sea right across. There werent any leaflets or info about things to do with youth in the area which is a shame as we wanted to explore. Laundrette was nly open til 10pm.

What a great find and a nice restful stay before heading to the airport. The indoor swimming pool/sauna was a delight! We loved that the Horizons Restaurant was right there, not just for breakfast but great dinners/lunches--and a view that can't be beat. The room was clean, up to date, comfortable and quiet with a roomy tub and a nice garden patio. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. When we left early for the airport they had made a breakfast "to go" bag for us.

Our garden level room had an anti-climatic view when you know what there is to see of that gorgeous beach. There's a patio (shared) but hard to see much until you walk amongst the nice landscaping. Inside the only window is also the door (a nice secure one with no outside handles). Kindof a darker level going down some stairs to the room (not easy with bags). I'll request an upper floor next time. Bit of a walk down the road to the beach trail than we thought but worth it.

The hotel, staff and facilities were excellent. The location and views only helped improve something I thought couldn't be improved. This had been my first EVER hotel stay ( and I'm 64 Shhhh! )

I have to say my one and only issue was the hotel entrance. I had to come in a manual wheelchair which my support worker had to push. It's quite a heavy chair, and I'm no fairy twinkle - toes. Because of this, it was extremely difficult for her to push me in and out the front door. We had checked about disabled access prior to our arrival and were told you were ' disabled friendly '. However, on arrival was when we discovered the front door was not automatic and it was going to be a struggle. If I'm totally honest, I wouldn't have come otherwise. I do think that any future disabled guests should be forewarned.

We liked the view and having the bedroom on a second floor was different.

The only downside off the accommodation was that we did not get a full size balcony with a table like the other rooms. our balcony was barely big enough to stand to people let alone sit in the chairs. we were unable to use the outside space to sit and have a coffee and enjoy the views which was why we upgraded our room to make it a little more special for my partner who’s birthday we where celebrating. Our room was also overlooked by the outdoor lounge area and we very Conscious we were visible to other guests using outdoor area while we were sitting on the couch. our other issue was the noise from guests going through the double door right outside our room was noticeable.
