The Elbow Room

The room was beautiful and the decor was subtle (online pictures don't do the rooms justice). The beds were the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept on. The fridge was a lovely size and the kettle was great not one of those mini ones that only makes one cup. On-suite was clean and had nice a soft towels with a decent sized shower and the water pressure you can choose yourself. The wardrobe was huge. The balcony was massive which was such a surprise to us. Each and every member of staff was so pleasant and helpful, they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect even the owner. The included wide variety breakfast was a delicious bonus and the fact that you could take it to your room was fantastic. If you like karaoke then definitely go there on the weekend (rooms are quiet so you can't hear anything unless you are in the pub area). Didn't get to try the food but locals ALL said it's a great place to eat and seems really good value for money too.

That we only stayed 3 nights!!!!!!!!

Wow. Genuinely welcoming people. Spotless room, lovely balcony. The restaurant looked like a school refectory, not very inviting but the quality of the food was superb. Mouth-wateringly fresh haddock, light batter, ample portion sizes and excellent value for money. What’s not to like. Having visited Kirkcaldy for over thirty years I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to find the Elbow Room. Heartily recommended. Thank you for the complimentary breakfast too !

The only negative is that the walls between rooms are a little thin. Either that or the person in the next room could snore for England, Scotland and the whole of the EEC 😉

Fantastic room with two seater,reclining sofa, a massive double bed and Sky TV(with Movies and Sports channels). Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The 24hr continental breakfast is fantastic. It's the first time I've eaten breakfast in my hotel room. All the staff who dealt with us were really friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We'd highly recommend the restaurant for an afternoon/evening meal and the bar for a few drinks with the friendly locals.

Nothing. This is definitely the best hotel I've stayed in. I've stayed in over 30 hotels this year. Shame my stay here was only one night.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, there was nothing that was a problem for them, from start to finish I was make to feel very welcome. The room I had was well kept, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The mini fridge in the room was very much appreciated, as was the water in it as it was extremely warm in the room. The breakfast was a continental one. There was plenty of variety available, and enough of it that you won't be left hungry. The hotel is on the outskirts of the town centre but taxis are readily available into the centre. It is, however, in the perfect location if you're visiting the ice rink and for exploring further afield.

My room, 6, was on the main road, so it did get a bit noisy at times.

We didn't have to trail our dogs through the bar area when coming or going to/from the hotel, as there was a separate staircase outside. They accepted more than 2 dogs at one time, which is rare but fantastic for us as we have 3. The breakfast station was set up all the time, handy for extra plates or cutlery we needed outwith Breakfast time.

Our room, room number 1, was on a main road and we could hear the traffic outside, as its a fairly busy road even during the night. Room was extremely warm and uncomfortable but a fan was provided by the hotel already in the room and there was a heat wave that nothing could be done about. We didn't have a balcony for the dogs to come and go, especially as it was extremely warm and sunny. The other rooms had substantial outside balconies.

The staff were super super friendly on arrival and departure. The rooms were exactly as we expected them to be, super comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! Really lovely!

The instructions to get to the car park in the back could have been clearer, I think. The rooms were a little hot, and if you opened the windows then it was really loud if you had a room facing the main road. Finally the walls were a little thin, so we could hear the neighbours taking showers or brushing their teeth. All in all I'd say this is a fantastic place for a very sound sleeper!

As near to perfection as you can get. Lovely, clean comfortable room with ensuite bathroom and we were lucky enough to get a balcony where my wife could enjoy a cigarette. If you wanted breakfast before the restaurant part opened there was all sorts on offer in the landing area, bread, porridge, yoghurt, cereals, fruit along with a fridge, toaster and microwave oven. Absolutely nothing was forgotten. Staff were excellent and the bar downstairs was the sort I'd want to visit even if I wasn't staying there. A must visit again place.

Having to leave

This place is freaking amazing! The rooms were perfectly cleaned, Big and cozy, lots of towels, the furniture is outstanding, comfortable beds and armchairs, breakfast is good, you can grab a snack 24/7 , there is a little table in the aisle full of snacks, the restaurant is not expensive and the food is delicious, all the people working here are extremely kind, they treated me as a prince, I felt like if I was at home, they made my stay beautiful! highly recommended!! Huge value for money!! Quality and quantity and not expensive at all! You won't believe it as long you don't try it!

Nothing to report, everything was perfect!

A non-fussy and very comfortable place to stay. Friendly staff and really feels like they went out of their way to make sure the rooms have everything you need. Cosy pub downstairs but you also have your own entrance to the rooms which is very convenient.

It’s £5 per dog which is very reasonable, I just hadn’t seen it written on booking.com so didn’t know in advance. There was also a fan/generator(?) of some kind out the back which we could hear at night if we had the windows open.

Beds were super comfy, room had everything we needed including tv with Sky channels, kettle, fridge and selection of hot drinks. Bathroom was huge with nice hot shower and a fancy bath! Good selection of breakfast items available and 11am checkout means you're not rushing to get ready and eat brekkie!

The wire on the hairdryer looked a wee bit dodgy!
