Absolutely blown away; what an experience! Booked as a 10 year Anniversary surprise for my fiancee, staying in the Kenelm Guinness Stateroom. The staff / management are a credit to the business and industry. From the reception staff, to Bruce (General Manager) and Marco, manning the bar, they couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and provide an all-round 5* experience. Incredibly professional. Marco was really knowledgeable, talented and clearly very passionate about his profession. I had arranged for a local florist to deliver flowers to the suite pre-arrival and the hotel also helped provide a bottle of fizz on ice. Bruce / Daniel were incredibly accommodating. Facilities, design and attention to detail were also all on point. Very impressed and we'll definitely be back! Thanks to little Arthur also for his help taking our picture on the deck 👌🏼

Enjoyed the whole experience from the minute we arrived. Matt on reception was so welcoming and friendly as all the staff were. He was also very knowledgeable about the history of the boat. Great location so many restaurants and bars close by. No problem with parking. Rooms were amazing, we stayed in a state room which was so spacious and comfortable. Could not fault the attention to detail., even a card left for my birthday. Spotlessly clean. Bar was lovely, comfortable and welcoming. Good selection of drinks and cocktails. Have already booked a return stay.

unique and absolutely stunning. beautiful views and we were so well looked after. the Family that have restored the boat have clearly worked so hard and it’s so easy to see the pride that they have taken in every part of the restoration. 1st class service from the moment we arrived. Marco in the bar was clearly very passionate in creating the best possible environment in the bar area and made the best cocktails. the whole family were incredibly welcoming and made our stay by sharing stories of how they restored the boat over the last 3 years. we will 100% be back.

Every employee we interacted with was so kind, friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to try make our stay amazing. I can't say enough great things about everyone who works at this hotel! We stayed in one of the suites and it was beautiful! Everything was very very clean throughout the hotel ship. We also enjoyed breakfast each morning. One cool thing we learned was that the owner re-did the ship entirely with his family- someone showed us a photo album of the remodel and it's worth a look. Truly EVERYTHING was custom built by the owner, which makes it feel all the more special! We absolutely loved this hotel and will stay again when we return to Edinburgh.

Excellent value. Very good service, staff were friendly, helpful and clearly very invested in the business. The beds were very comfortable, linen beautiful. We had a tour of the boat that had been beautifully restored by the owners 10 year old son who was remarkably knowledgable for his age.

A very nice breakfast but a little difficult to eat on the small tables in the bar.

The property was unique and the staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. The boat is amazing with a lot of history and the owners and staff are very proud of what they have accomplished and rightly so. We had an amazing time on the Ocean Mist the facility is relaxing and the cabins (rooms) are luxurious.

This hotel is AMAZING. We actually had another hotel booked but a few weeks before we were due to travel I stumbled across Ocean Mist and decided to change where we were staying. The Ocean Mist and its staff are fantastic. From the minute we stepped out of the taxi and saw this unique location I was very impressed. The exterior is regal looking and stands out. The staff when we went aboard went above and beyond. I was travelling with my 7 year old and as soon as every staff member found out not only could they not do enough for me they looked after my little boy like a celebrity. He was looked after by every single member staff member, spoken to with kindness and looked after like they actually knew him. Our room was beautiful, so tastefully restored and maintained. It felt like we had gone back in time into a 1920's hotel. Every detail has been seen to, every requirement has been factored in, every effort has been made to make sure the stay was perfect... and it was. The breakfast was exactly what we needed. A very good quality buffet with lots of choice and everything we had tasted wonderful. The pride the staff have in Ocean Mist pours out of them with their knowledge, care with their service and want for guests to have a good time and enjoy their stay. We 100% want to return, and would recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh. It has great transport links so you can get around very easily. We tended to use the bus as the bus stops are all a very short walking distance away. The hotel is a short walk to the Royal Britannia experience so handy if you were tourists like us.

Couldn't find a fault. We wish we had stayed longer!

A unique experience, superb conversion of a boat with a wealth of history. All members of the crew were attentive, very helpful and friendly. We were blessed with good weather & could make the most of the outside seating. Great location with good bars & restaurants nearby. Had a delicious Italian meal at Domenicos, just a 5 min walk away. The Ship on the Shore directly opposite the boat is a great place for a drink too - didn't eat there ourselves but it was always busy with diners. Tram links to the city are invaluable - one reason we chose to stay in Leith. Leith itself is lovely & provided a quiet retreat from the hustle & bustle of Edinburgh (especially during The Fringe 😀).

Fantastic stay, my partner and me stayed in the Kenelm Guinness room, we were blown away Fantastic decor throughout the Ocean mist the room was pretty amazing. Bed was massive, and comfy, you will not want to get up in the morning lol. On suite was very tasteful, the whole boat was 1920s themed art deco style. Bar was brilliant, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I'd advise if you arrive in a car leave it parked at boat and use the public transport the buses are pretty frequent number 16 to Edinburgh or 35 to Edinburgh Castle area. Only £2 a ticket If visiting Edinburgh Castle pre book entry tickets. Ocean mist gets 100%

Some restaurants are very expensive

The location is just outside the city but only a few minutes ride by the local tram.These are frequent and very convenient.Tram stop is only a few minutes from Ocean Mist. There are two or three very good restaurants literally a few yards away on the quayside where the boat is moored. Breakfast was served on the rear deck on a self serve basis.It consisted of a very comprehensive range of continental fare, and was excellent. All of the staff we met and who provided the service were all excellent. Car parking was a non cost facility next to the boat, but limited in the number of spaces.
