Was not expecting such a wonderful hotel, from the minute you walk in, to when you are shown your room, The room it's self was well presented and the view from the window was beautiful, it was so peaceful, the receptionist explained that there was going to be a wedding the next day and the music might be a bit loud, which we did not mind and the music ended at mid night, the hotel is next door to a golf club so if you like golf this is the hotel for you. We never had dinner in the hotel, we were to busy exploring the surrounding area, we did have breakfast, which was really nice, no fried breakfast which we did not mind, the staff were very polite and helpful, there was a incident with the kettle in our rom but little things like are nothing when you have a relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel

There was nothing i can pick out that i did not like or the wife did not like, everything was just brilliant and we will be coming back.

Very friendly informal attentive staff. Lovely reasonably priced food in the bar. Tasty smoked salmon for breakfast- didn’t mind at all that it was continental. Beautiful historic building and surrounding grounds.

There were 2 parties going on on the Saturday night I was there. Unfortunately I was kept up by the music as my room was right above reception. However, to the credit of the staff I sent a message asking when the music would be turned off at about 1am and it was turned down. The reception staff also apologised on check out and said it was unusual to have parties going on without exclusive hire of the venue so I don’t think this is something to worry about.

Despite booking the hotel for a work trip a cooked breakfast would have been the icing the cake. The team very kindly offered us a Bacon roll, which was great, but a full Scottish cooked would have been excellent

A listed building comes with challeneges so in arrival into the carpark i was a little apprhensivce, that said get inside and its lovely. We stayed ion the Suite and it was EXCEPTIONAL. There a couple of recommendations the accomodation could benefit from, but certainly did not ruin or upset our stay. Hooks in the bathroom for towels, improved WIFI for working, an amazing bath with an incredible view but no bubble bath!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is in the most beautiful setting at the back of a park and bordered by a golf course. Probably the quietest night I have ever spent in a hotel - and all within 5 minutes drive of the town centre. This beautiful old country mansion is being carefully restored by the owners who have already updated the interior and have plans for the outside. There is an enormous and very beautiful fireplace in the entrance hall where you can sit and relax with a glass of wine in front of a wonderful log fire. Our bedroom was a good size and very quiet and comfortable, with lovely views over the park.

Unfortunately during the winter months there is no chef on the premises on a Monday or Tuesday so no evening meal or cooked breakfast is available. We had made a very late booking via Booking.com and had not been told of this. If we had booked earlier or direct with the hotel, they would have told us. However the staff couldn't have been kinder and lent us plates and cutlery so that we could enjoy takeaway food from the nearby shopping centre. And for breakfast the owner very kindly made us bacon sandwiches. Delicious!

Bathroom was beautiful, clean , new and great shower, bed was comfy and clean, room was over all great, amazing view, the windows could do with a upgrade, Great choice for breakfast, lovely helpful and friendly staff.

I have no problem walking up and down stairs, but i did struggle carrying my luggage up and down the stairs. I found the dinning room really dark for eating breakfast, the table clothes were too long and slippy material, and i caught my foot on them a few times and tripped.

The castle is beautiful and located in a beautiful park. The only thing is that there is a lot of rubbish around but as it is in a public park it is not the owners responsability. Maybe an ashtray at the entrance should be let. I had such a confortable room and I discovered products from the Highland soap company which are wonderful. People in the castle are very friendly and helpful, I wish I had stayed longer.

The rubbish all around the castle and all burned cigarettes at the entrance.

Staff were lovely and very helpful! Room was beautiful and very big! Also was on lovely grounds which was a great view!!

More variation and amount on menu would maybe be nice and also small milk pots or sachets provided in room for the complimentary tea and coffee. Bathroom sink plug hole smelt of drainage/sewage which made the bathroom smell funny.

First impressions of the outside of the property weren’t great at all, but thankfully our fears were allayed as soon as we walked into the beautiful reception area. The lady at reception (Emma, I think) was incredibly friendly and efficient. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. They seem to have been recently refurbished. Food at dinner was delicious, and breakfast in the morning was superb.

The toilet in the double room leaked, and we were advised to put towels down as no one was available to look at it until the next day. The deluxe double room door didn’t close properly and had to be slammed hard to shut it. The shower rail came out of it’s fitting every time we tried to move the height of the shower head. The towel ring came off the wall whenever we tried to dry our hands, but we think we’ve fixed it. Also, please can we have softer toilet paper! With such a luxurious room and bathroom, we were surprised to see such coarse paper.

The rooms were very clean and had recently been refurbished, the decor was modern and yet still kept a traditional feel. Check in was easy, and the person on reception was friendly and receptive to any requests. The setting at the hotel is beautiful, and I can see why anyone would choose as a wedding venue, the views from the room I stayed in were stunning. The person who was running reception also served dinner, and ran the bar, however her service could not have been better, and I hope her employers realise what a great asset she is to their business.

We were later than we had anticipated due to traffic disruption, we had booked an evening meal in the restaurant and had to push our time forward by half and hour, however the last meal orders were taken at 7.45pm which made things a little rushed, the wine list was limited due to just re opening post Covid restrictions. It would be good if the hotel were to advertise the meal time cut off when booking as this will allow for other arrangements to be made if a later dinner service was not available. However the hotel did accommodate and we were able to eat at 8pm, although it was a little rushed the food was very good.
