The Groves Inn staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The food was of good quality and freshly cooked. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. An electric fan was also provided but because of the heatwave the room still remained quite warm overnight but I must stress that this was totally out of the hotels control as they did their very best to cool the rooms down. The location was also excellent, a lovely little market town. Well worth visiting.

Our stay was short and sweet just one night so with that in mind we could not find anything to find fault with. One thing was that the Groves Inn do not provide breakfast which was a bit of a shame as I could imagine that it would have been of the same high standard as the diner we had the night before, but don’t let that put you off as there are plenty of places close by to eat.

It was a lovely room with good facilities. They didn’t scrimp with teas and coffees. It was clean and comfy. Staff were so helpful and friendly. I would defo recommend or go back if I needed to stay in area again. My parents ended up meeting us in the bar in the evening and the food was excellent. Tasty and good value. I was worried in the middle of town it would be noisy but it wasn’t. The windows were double glazed. There was an entrance if you didn’t want to do through the bar. Check in and check out was easy.

I would have liked parking but there was cheap parking near by. But really can’t fault it

A really friendly welcome was given. The room was perfectly fine and the complementary bottled water was appreciated. Very good value for money. We ate an evening meal of scampi which was nice (proper hand cut fresh chips rather than frozen!), generous portions and very well priced. It's a no frills but comfortable and clean place in a lovely location.

Everything was perfectly fine. Car parking would have been a bonus but there is a very cheap long stay car park at York Place which is only about a six minute walk away.

Excellent location comfortable large bed,big bathroom with good shower, plenty of hot water.Friendly staff nice bar area.Had secluded beer garden. There is a separate entrance to the rooms above the pub.Although the pub is on the market place there was very little noise.Long stay car park 10 minutes walk only £1.60 for 24 hours.Buses to Harrogate from bus station only a few minutes away.

There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels/dressing gown etc.We hadn't realised there was no food served in the pub Monday and Tuesday but we later found out there is a "sister" pub around the corner called "So" which served food.We had an excellent meal on the night before we left with a good bottle of wine.I think we would have eaten there most nights.

Lovely little find this. It was recommended to me by my brother and it didn't disappoint. I was in room number 1 and it was really nice and spacious. Harding working lady seems to do everything: one minute she's checking you in and showing you to your room then the next serving and entertaining the locals at the bar. Separate entrance for the accomodation on the upper floors, or you can walk through the pub if you want. Guests are provided with an outside door key so you can come and go as you please.

Excellent place the stay in Knaresborough, very clean and comfortable, with everything you needed for an overnight stay. The owners were lovely and friendly and it is a lovely warm atmosphere in the bar area where we had a few drinks in the evening, bar staff was very polite and we sat and had a chat with them whilst having a drink which was nice and made the place feel very welcoming. Would highly recommend and will be definitely booking again.

Nothing everything was 5 star

The place was a great place for getting around the area x also had a good bus service so you can go further afield drivers on the bus very helpful and friendly

The one fault was we didn't know the pub was closed all day on monday and Tuesday as these were are only full days there, meant we had to go elsewhere for meals and drink ,on the day we left we were able to speak to staff about it they hadn't realised we didn't know we were then informed that from easter they will be open 7 days aweek we had had a good Sunday evening so not happy that we couldn't do the same on the other days

Central position Plenty of parking nearby

Not knowing Wednesday was market day and I made an error overnight parking in the Square yet the ticket machine had given me until 9:18 that morning. The signage needs taking up with the council for more clarity for strangers to Knaresbrough like myself.I was given a fine and my car was” keyed” along the passenger side.

we were right in the market square close to shops, pubs, restaurants and able to walk everywhere. the room was clean and tidy. plenty of tea and coffee provided.

unfortunately because we were in the market square when it was early morning we heard traffic and heard shops etc opening up it accepted this as it’s where we chose. the shower door didn’t keep the water from flooding the bathroom floor. this is more a pointer than a complaint and another pointer for anyone who wants parking at the property….unfortunately there is none so long stay parking is a short 5 minute walk away.

The room was very nicely decorated, nice and warm, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom too. It absolutely poured it down with rain and we were able to dry off our clothes easily on the radiator and clothes rack. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they helped us out the next day by holding our bags until we were leaving (after we had checked out of the room). A very nice stay indeed, great location for such a beautiful place. So much to see, even in the rain! Loved every minute.

Wouldnt change a thing.
