The location of this hotel was fantastic. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were welcoming on arrival. Breakfast was really good too!

We had never stayed here before and it said there was paid parking available - we didn’t realise there would be so few spaces so they had all gone by the time we arrived to check in. That being said, the reception staff were very helpful and directed us to a nearby multi story car park which was only 6 minutes walk away. The room was also very hot and stuffy, we could’ve done with a fan in there.

Very comfy room . Clean , good breakfast, staff helpful.

Reported that I had tried to ring and book directly with the hotel , and had left messages for a return call to discuss further, and still had no call back ! If it wasn’t for Booking.com we would never had this break! Staff didn’t have any idea that any messages were left but I showed my phone history to prove this and the response was....... because it was at night , ie 7 pm onwards they MAY have been too busy! Poor answer! Also the parking on site is really poor and dangerous, however probably not much they can do with this. The £12 per day charge should be included in cost of vacation ,

The location in the centre of Harrogate is excellent. The room was a reasonable size (we paid an extra £20 to upgrade as the small double rooms are very small). The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and had very good lighting, which is not the case in many hotel rooms. We didn’t have breakfast at at the hotel as there are plenty of other options nearby. The cost of the room was very reasonable.

There were no instructions for the electric heater in the bedroom, so it was a case of it being either off or on. The decor of the room and the hallway was all grey - walls, woodwork and carpet - could do with something a bit brighter to cheer it up a bit. The bathroom is very small. A slight problem, and likely to be a much bigger one in the summer months, is that rooms on the first floor at the back are over the restaurant which had music from the speakers in the ceiling just below us, and the room looks out over the outside tables of the hotel’s restaurant and a number of other bars and restaurants in the area.

Hotel in a great location. Reception staff friendly and helpful. We were a party of three. One had a room in the main part of the hotel and two of us rooms in the 'annexe' part of the hotel. The room in the main part of the building was slightly bigger. Breakfast is on the top floor, which is reached by stairs or a lift. There are great views of Harrogate. Breakfast is buffet style, English and Continental. Very good English breakfast. Staff again helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal at the hotel, which was good. My room was clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Bed firm. I slept fairly well. Windows opened to a point and needed to be open as room was hot. The small openings offered only a small view of the outside as the rest of the window was not transparent. The communal areas of the hotel are clean and tidy and very well decorated. The restaurant was popular. There is a bar.

The rooms we had in the annexe were really hot, to the point we thought the cental heating was on. We had fans in these rooms to try and keep them cool. I had mine fan on all night and it was not really effective. I did not keep the duvet on the bed during the night. Our friend who had a room in the main part of the building said her room became hot in the night. However, she did not have a fan. We were told there is no air conditioning due to the age of the building. There is a lift to the 5th floor. It is small and slow. The hotel has parking, but not lots of spaces for the size of the hotel, which is understandable due to Harrogate's heritage. The charge is £15 per night.

The breakfast buffet is fantastic. Loads of choice from cereals to pancakes to a full English breakfast. The restaurant 'The Pickled Sprout' is well worth a visit, the food is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Parking is a issue, if your not early enough to check in, all the spaces are full outside the hotel. We had to leave the car on the road outside the hotel entrance to check our bags in, then we was given a post code to the nearest multi storey car park. You can pay and display on the streets around the hotel but this only gives you 3hrs max. After 6pm it is free parking until 8am. You then need move your vehicle as its 2hrs non return. We moved ours to the multi storey car park. And paid for 24hrs. This was cheaper then the hotel car park however its a 6-8 minute walk from the hotel. If your staying for more than a day you need to return to the multi storey and pay again.

We stayed in a small double which was perfectly adequate and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and had a good sized walk in shower. The breakfast was buffet style and of a very reasonable standard. The location of the hotel was excellent, located in the heart of Harrogate. The staff were very helpful and professional.

The room was painted a mid grey colour which made it quite dark. In places the walls were quite scuffed. If I was management I would get better decorators in next time, who prepared surfaces before just slopping on coat after coat. There was no parking available on site, so we had to park in a multi storey down the road. Cheaper though!!

The room was lovely, clean, nicely decorated. Serviced room nicely. Rest of the hotel also very nicelydecorated and clean. Staff very nice, easy check in and out. Excellent location, central, but felt safe.

Not big things, overall very happy, but some things which could be improved... The shower didn't drain so had to turn it off several times during shower so it didn't flood. Parking expensive, we parked further out of harrogate and walked in. Sounds silly but mugs, although a nice touch, didn't need to be 'lad' and 'lass', what if the couple in there were 2 females, just don't like assumptions lol, maybe check your guests.

Staff very friendly from checking in all throughout the stay. Breakfast selection is great with a good selection again all friendly. The hotel had a Clean smell all around the building.

Room a little run down and not finished to a great standard. A fair few broken windows in the hallway. It's an old building and looks recently refurbished but wall paper hasn't been put on to a good standard and lining paper used to cover poor plasterwork behind. Not a real criticism but does let the stay down when other things have been done to a high standard. Some of the paper has rippled and come away. Wouldn't stop me from booking again. The shower was either red hot/warm or cold.

The most outstanding feature of the Yorkshire Hotel is its wonderful hospitality team. I was extremely well looked after by the lovely chambermaids and my room was immaculate and well stocked daily and also the staff at the Pickled Sprout - Chloe, Olly and James. The single room was compact as described yet adequate and very reasonably priced with a comfortable bed and good shower facilities. Also the iron, ironing board and hairdryer were most useful. I was able to get a small jug of fresh milk both from the bar and breakfast area to take with tea and coffee in my room.

Complimentary newspapers could be provided to read and relax in the reception area. Also that would encourage me to order a coffee and sit there instead of in my room.
