The West Park Hotel

Everything went well. The room was comfy, huge bed, quiet, effective temperature control, opening window, lovely bath. Room service were good, it was clean, toiletries restocked daily. Breakfast waiter service, not rushed, very nice. We were looked after by Caz and her team, who were all great. Special mention to Alex for his attention. Evening meal was delicious. Location is close enough to walk out. A few minutes walk on the flat to Bettys and shops. The styling and decor is tasteful and fresh. This was a last minute staycation which has been a wonderfully pleasant stay. The feel of the place is understated unfussy loveliness.

The parking is in a multi-storey next door but there is no connectivity with the hotel so you cant just add the cost of parking to your bill which would be great. You have to pop over daily to pay and display 24 hours. This was no bother to us but I see it may be an inconvenience to others. I did see the car park advertising a new app which if you have before you arrive, will recognise your number plate and then you can pay the full balance of your parking when you leave. If I'd have known this I would have prepared. So good luck, its called AppyParking apparently. The multistory is called West Park multistory, don't get it muddled with the flat car park of the same name.

really handy location, a few minutes walk from central harrogate with an open leafy view over The Stray. Warm welcome, excellent room with some nice touches - the coffee machine, phone charger pad, great bath and separate shower, thick fluffy towels and good soap, well thought out lighting and effective air con. the breakfast was very good, with warm friendly service. we loved the dog friendly aspect of the hotel, adding an extra aspect to the relaxed vibe. and we loved the aroma in the hotel - a relaxing fragrance in the reception and common areas - lovely touch. There’s no dedicated car park but there are short stay open air and secure multi story car parks with very reasonable charges just round the corner.

Staff at this hotel really went above and beyond. Paul who works in the restaurant really deserves a special mention. He is a great example for younger staff to learn from. He seemed to be working day and night. We didn't meet any grumpy member of staff over our 3 days. The cleaners did a great job in rooms and public areas. We ate here twice in the evenings and food was fabulous despite restaurant being really busy. The hotel is well placed and just a short walk to the centre of town.

There really wasn't anything to not like about this hotel.

This is a great hotel and we were so pleased with our choice. The location is great, only a 5 minute walk into town and right next to some great parks, perfect for walking pooch. The room was a really good size, and the bathroom was enormous with a lovely big walk in shower. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, and with really nice toiletries provided. I’ve knocked a point off the score as the wardrobe is taken up with the kettle and coffee machine on one side, and the hanging side is mostly used up storing the iron, ironing board and fan, so there’s barely any room unless you take all of that out and put it on the floor. We also ate at the hotel and it was really excellent and all the staff are really friendly. If you need a hotel in Harrogate that you can take your dog to I would thoroughly recommend this one and we’ll definitely stay again.

Nothing, it was excellent

Room was excellent, separate bath and shower, large room with everything you need. Also had a balcony with a table and chairs on. Although it was a bit cold to sit on it! But would be lovely in the summer. Good location too. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants to stay in that area.

Only downside was, my husband’s full English breakfast was a bit overcooked. As it is a dog friendly hotel, we were a bit concerned. We don’t have any pets. But you wouldn’t know it. We saw 1 small dog.

Very friendly staff, wonderful food and great location. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean.

On Street parking means you have to physically stand by your car to book the parking which starts at 8am (no lie in) and is expensive. Multi Storey Car Park next door is much more reasonable but opens at 7.15am and closes at 9.15pm and the hotel do not offer a reduced rate.

Great location in central Harrogate. Nearby parking. Reception lady was so welcoming and helpful, cheerful and chatty, efficiently organised our stay. Hotel and rooms have been recently redecorated so they’re all beautifully clean with tasteful decor. Rooms can be small but we booked a deluxe with larger double bed and it was worth it…very comfortable, warm, quiet and met our needs perfectly. Superb rain shower and large bath. L’Occitane toiletries. Breakfast was lovely - well-cooked hot food and pastries. Service was quick, very efficient and friendly. Nothing was a trouble.

Nothing to dislike at all

We were given an upgrade and it blew us away - the room was amazing and mostly really comfortable. I think I could have swam lengths in the bathtub and got to have a lovely bath while watching Countdown. The food in the restaurant was delicious, both dinner and breakfast, and the cocktails were perfect. The hotel has style and character and is in a great location in lovely Harrogate. The staff were all great.

The mattress on the bed gave new meaning to the word firm. It was a bit too hard for me and my sleep wasn't great. But that is all I can fault.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very good, with views over the park opposite. The location was very good, with easy access to Harrogate centre. Having a car park next to the hotel was very useful and staff gave advice about how to access it and get the best out of the car parking. The breakfasts were very good, with a good choice. We ate in the restaurant one evening and found the choices and food to be good value and very good quality.

Everything was good

Location, decor, breakfasts, very comfortable bed. Very dog friendly with our dog allowed to accompany us in the restaurant. (although the £20 per night charge is a bit steep)

Had to change room due to a leak in bathroom however it was handled very quickly. Hot water temperature to bath tap was lower than expected, however shower was fine. Restaurant bill had a 10% service charge automatically added, which was incorrect but subsequently removed when queried, however the reception staff were unaware until this was pointed out by me to them.
