This B&B was very close to the Larne ferry terminal and was well-signposted. We were made very welcome and were able to walk to the town, the promenade and local eateries without any trouble. Breakfast was a great start to the day. We were sorry that we did not spend longer there as we could have visited areas south of Larne before heading off north on the coastal route. Our host was helpful in answering questions about the area. We will remember this B&B if we use the ferry terminal again.

The weather could have been better, but there's nothing to do about that!!

Derrin House is a lovely old house in the centre of Larne which is beautifully decorated and maintained by its owners. We were given a warm welcome and shown to a very large room with striking furnishings and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, the shower very good and a very tasty breakfast. Our host recommended several places to eat including the Olderfleet Bar and restaurant where we had a superb meal, including one of the best steaks we have ever eaten. We were travelling by ferry from Belfast which is a short drive away from Larne and the docks very easy to find. We only stayed here for one night at the end of our tour of Ireland but I would happily have stayed at Derrin House for several more. Highly recommended.

There is very limited off street parking but plenty of space to park on the road opposite which was fairly quiet.

A lovely old large house with oodles of character, quiet and just away from Larne centre and very convenient for the ferry and as a start for travelling up to the Causeway coast or into Belfast (via a slow train). Delightfully friendly couple, helpful and interested in their guests (the host is Dutch for any Dutch travellers). Excellent breakfast with daily variations so you can get away from the standard cooked breakfast. Parking is free on the quiet street just outside. And good quality WiFi. Try the Olderfleet pub (15 mins walk), excellent food in this recently refurbished pub.

Perhaps just one small gripe - the bed, whilst comfortable, was small.

The bed was wonderful, so comfortable!! My sister and I were in town for 2 nights. Ivy saw to our every need. There was coffee, tea, and a TV in the room, plus plugins for our phones so that we didn't even need our adapter. Breakfast had specials of pancakes one morning and smoked salmon the next, but there was no problem getting the scrambled eggs, beans, and bacon we preferred. There were several restaurants just around the corner, plus pharmacies and the train station, so very conveniently located. Being Americans, we had a bit of problem figuring out the shower controls, but Ivy was there in an instant to explain. We loved our stay.

The whole experience was incredible. Friendly welcome in person, even before I arrived, any questions I had were answered. Upon arrival, was tantalised with the special breakfast option, or the traditional fry, which wins all the time!! The b&b is extremely clean, bright and inviting. I was staying due to being at a wedding in the local area and explained I would be in late, and advised how to enter. Overall an extremely positive experience, and would happily book again, and will recommend to anyone who is looking for a recommendation in the area

I sleep with 2 pillows, and the 2 in the room weren’t even the size of 1 of mine lol

We have chosen it for the location mostly, as we needed to park our bikes securely off the street and also to be close to the Larne port to catch the earliest morning ferry. The house is very nice, clean, and tidy, the bathroom had shampoo and gel provided, the bed was comfy and it was very quiet. Really liked reading about the history of the house in the welcome info. It is within walking distance from the town center and the pubs. We got some recommendations on where to have dinner from the hosts but ended up going to "steadyeddie Noodle Bar" which I can also recommend, we loved it! We didn't have a warm breakfast but the toast, snacks, juice/milk/coffee, and cereals left for us and other guests who were catching the early ferry were more than enough to keep us going till lunchtime.

Just my impression, but it was the most expensive stay in B&B of all we had through Ireland and UK

Being a B&B snob, I want special for my money and Derrin house didn’t fail. We ordered the King size room. It was lovely, spacious, stylish and spotless. The owner met us on arrival, gave us all the information, including places to go. The breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh to order.

I was happy with everything. The car park is small but being on bikes it wasn’t an issue and there seems to be plenty of available spaces on the road.

The Derrin guest house was very homely & welcoming. Ideal location for the bus route and train. Around the corner from a delicious chinese and a very nice pub not 10 minutes down to the front. It had its very own lounge and breakfast room for guests, and the accommodation varied from the ground floor and first floor. Breakfast was 10/10 with various choices on the different days of our stay. Ivy & Siebe made us feel extremely welcome.

All of it, had such a wonderful stay triple room was absolutely beautifully decorated & large in size. One double & one single be with a sofa also which was really good. Really enjoyed breakfast the next morning Ivy the owner was so lovely & couldn't have looked after us enough extremely friendly. Also got an early check in which I was so thankful of, would highly recommend!

In fairness there's nothing really I could fault apart from the check out is extremely early while trying to fit in breakfast before hand etc. But overall the place was fabulous!

The guest house was great, location was easy to find. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Room and en suite, breakfast and reception area were clean and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, the options were more than enough and of great quality. The high street shops are just around the corner which is handy and train station is only down the road.

There isn't anything, enjoyed everything.
