Halfway House Hotel

We had a lovely lunch on our earlier-than-expected arrival. The breakfasts had an excellent with a lovely selection of fruits, yoghurt and cereals. The fried courses were served in generous portions, the toast etc was good and the coffee was a welcome change from some of the 'cautious' brews sometimes presented. The evening meals were really good with a nice variety of dishes for each course. The bar was well stocked. All of the staff were friendly and courteous from start to finish. Our room was comfortable with a roomy and well-stocked bathroom. One the one clear day we had a great view of the Mermaid islands and the distant Ailsa Craig.

One minor matter which was quickly rectified was was the scarcity of hangers. The hot water for the wash basin took a little time to reach us, probably due to our being distant from its source.

really clean room, bed was incredibly comfortable, lovely food in the pub, really pretty view over the water, good breakfast with lots of options, staff were very friendly and helpful.

the only small issue was my shower (the power shower units on the wall) was very loud & sounded like being next to a vacuum cleaner, when I got out the shower the people next door were using their shower and they had the same issue with a loud vibration through the wall which would have woken me up if I wasn’t already up. They probably need a little tinkering, but it was a small issue in an otherwise lovely stay.

The hotel was beautifully situated for the purpose of our visit to the Antrim Coast. On arrival we were really well looked after by both management and staff. The hotel facilities were excellent- cosy and welcoming and the menu was expansive easy to understand and enjoyable. We dined both nights of our stay and we loved the food - wonderfully served and presented. We are very well traveled at our stage of life but this hotel was as good as it gets when travelling about those lovely places right on our own doorstep. A memorable mid week visit and stay !!!!

Lovely location, excellent room, brilliant and friendly service, great food. Our first time in NI from Australia, enjoyed every minute. Great advice from Wendy on places to visit and hospitality from her and her husband was brilliant

We have no complaints whatsoever

A beautiful property on a fabulous area ,right on the coast facing the sea also a fabulous restaurant too .the owners couldn’t do enough for us and their staff are all so polite chatty and very efficient the rooms were very well decorated and spotlessly clean and.Comfortable ,although Wendy was busy she always found time for a chat .we always wanted to stay there as we. Visit the area a lot this year we managed to get booked and were not disappointed ,Wendy was always available a great hotel for visiting the Antrim coast .

Beautiful location, the room was exactly as described, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and really went the extra mile to look after us. Breakfast lived up to its reputation, superb. Everything had the personal touch.

Absolutely nothing - can't fault it.

The staff where so helpful. A group of us where staying to attend a wedding nearby. They offered to give us a lift there and suggested taxis for our return. The rooms where clean and comfortable with great showers and bathroom facilities. Breakfast is very very good, though we didn't get to use it the bar looked nice. Very high standard for the type of accommodation it is.

Breakfast ends at 9am which is a little early, but it's a small thing.

Warm welcome.. lovely room.. fabulous shower.. superb breakfast.. nothing too much trouble .. we arrived late due to the ferry crossing and weren’t ready to eat so they made us a lovely plate of sandwiches for later.. spot on.. absolutely beautiful location right next to the sea.. motorbike as safe as houses in the car park . Definitely one to go back to.

Can’t fault the hotel at all

First time staying here, very friendly and welcoming staff. They looked after us well. Breakfast was great. Lovely room. Great price. 10/10 would happily stay there again or call in for a bite to eat in future :)

No complaints, had everything we needed. Staff couldn't do enough for us!

I loved this place, I really love hotels like this, the more old fashioned but in a good way sort of feel! The bar restaurant was really cosy and was busy, the food was proper pub grub and we loved it, the outside area overlooking the bay from just across the road, when no cars were passing it was so peaceful! The staff were all so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you especially the lady who served breakfast and the bonus was the owner was working behind the bar! Our room was a deluxe sea view double and I’d def recommend this as it made our stay! The view was lovely. The gardens are well kept, in fact the whole hotel is well kept, there’s nothing to dislike at all!
