Beautiful estate, well kept, friendly staff

For the price, small inconsistencies. Room heating unreliable, bar poorly staffed and drinks nor properly served, prices not advertised and varied from day to day. Food at times excellent and sometimes not, generally overpriced especially wine list.

beautiful location and common areas are beautifully decorated and clean

we were in Calendula and whilst the bedroom was lovely, the bathroom was in need of updating and was incongruous with the rest of the room and hotel

Beautifully restored, tranquil with a great onsite converted barn which makes a lovely space for both restaurant and bar. The buildings are restored sympathetically and the grounds are fabulous. Extremely impressive vegetable garden. Staff were very friendly, approachable and helpful. Wellies and bikes to borrow are a big plus.

Nothing major, but for the price point there are some areas for improvement. Breakfast should be included in the rate price, it irks that it isn’t at £400+ per night. The room was beautifully decorated but lacked some practical considerations (bath but no bubbles, kitchen but no glassware, cutlery or dishes; sofa with seat cushions that slip off to name a few). These are minor but if you charge at a top price point you need to deliver aligned with expectations for the cost.

Very few things render me speechless… but Thyme did it! It’s been so long since I’ve seen true passion paired with flawless customer service in a way that feels genuine, natural and effortless. Thyme is the most beautiful getaway with sensational rooms, mouth wateringly incredible food and heavenly extras. Me partner and I came here for a getaway and had such an amazing time that we booked again for four weeks later, to come to after our wedding. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and swept us away with the magic of Thyme. You’ll have interior envy. Food envy. Toiletry envy. The works. I’m shooting myself in the foot telling you to book as we’ll be competing for one of their beaudiful rooms but. just. do. it. You will not regret it! Can’t wait to be back soon. Absolutely loved our stay at Thyme celebrating a special birthday. We spent a couple of days exploring the countryside on bikes, sitting in front of an open fire and getting a great massage at the Spa. The food was outstanding - especially the dinners - and the staff were great. The only slight criticism might be that their processes were a bit erratic. It almost felt like a brand new establishment that was still getting to grips with the idea of consistency and process. And they could have communicated more on arrival about all the wonderful things that were available for us to do - eg take a walk to the kitchen garden, where to go for a walk/cycle ride etc. Apart from that we had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend Thyme to anyone looking for a special place to relax and unwind.

We stayed for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the rest and relaxation. It was initially quite hard to find, but one of the staff members kindly hopped in our car and showed us to the main drive. It was also hammering with rain at this point, so was very much appreciated. Greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival, and the room was great with some lovely little touches. The staff on the front desk were really helpful with providing maps for walks in the local area and we also made use of the outdoor pool and tennis courts.

Restaurant service was a little slow, and they actually cancelled out our order one morning (not entirely sure how this is done!) meaning we were sat there for 45 minutes waiting and subsequently missed our spa appointment.

We stayed in wild thyme for our 2nd Wedding anniversary and the room and facilities were fabulous. The gardens were exceptional and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. Our bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the best nights sleep we have ever had. This was such a wonderful finish to our stay in the Cotswolds. We booked a meal at the Ox Barn but unfortunately it wasn't to our tastes. The atmosphere was lovely but we felt the menu was over complicated. We have eaten in many fine dining restaurants before but felt the Ox Barn menu was too much. The restaurant manager was fantastic during our visit, very professional and understanding. He is a credit to Thyme. Throughout our stay, all staff were friendly and attentive and they couldn't do enough to ensure that we had a wonderful time.

Lovely quiet area and very scenic. Nice room. Lovely evening meal in restaurant. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Disturbed somewhat with the many low flying aircraft going over. Disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working throughout our visit. Breakfast quite basic - would have preferred pancake option we have had at other spas. Only choice of chocolate croissant or croissant for daily pastries - expected more options.
