The only thing that could have been better would have been that since the kitchen wasn't running for dinner with the gas line problems (which we understood) we'd have appreciated a call a couple of hours before arrival so that we could have eaten dinner somewhere else before driving to the inn. With only a handful of couples staying there overnight and our phone numbers part of our reservation, that should have been easy for the staff to do. This inn is a bit of a drive from everything, and we had to backtrack to one of the towns we'd been in earlier that day to find dinner.

Country pub popular with locals, with beautifully refurbished rooms. Fresh clean decor sympathetic to the age of the property and large bathroom full of panache. Lots of lovely touches in the public areas to enjoy too. Food: top end bar food - and more. Burrata starter highly recommended and the streak & onion pie has the best pastry we’ve had anywhere. Outside eating by the river and walks from the front door would be great in better weather, but in poor weather the pub was cosy retreat - so, a good choice in all seasons. Very convenient for touring around Burford, Stow, Burton on the Water… Oxford, Malvern, Worcester…

Friendly welcome. Wonderful breakfast. Comfortable bed. Setting was beautiful, wished we had a longer stay but only in Cotswolds for wedding on this occasion.

Rooms not ready before the wedding which was at 2pm at Stony Barn. Youngest Grandchild had to get dressed in the toilet (not a major problem). We were only in our rooms from 11pm-10am, felt a little rushed in the morning trying to organise 3 young sleepy children to be out by 10am. Can’t remember when I last needed to leave a hotel room so early, usually 11am. On arrival we were allowed to put our luggage in one room on the bed (I’d booked 3 rooms) and the housekeeper was a little disgruntled by this as the room wasn’t quite finished and she said she was trying to hurry up as she wanted to get home. 😬

Lovely Food. Really lovely building, with old features in a beautiful setting. Decor was very much in fit with the style. Was a nice extra to have Now TV and Netflix etc - id advise providing the pin code for 18+ movies in the folder. I was going to ask but it seemed pretty busy in the bar. No noise from the bar in my room. The bathroom was my favourite part of the room - had a nice bubble bath during my stay. Really enjoyed the honey at breakfast - I actually googled where I could buy this once I got home. Eggs benedict was really nice too, bread was slightly hard.

Cleanliness was okay. There was a huge cobweb near the side of the bed at the slanted part of the roof. Shame wall paper was starting to come off too at some areas of the walls. Toilet Seat also kept moving - think this needs replacing. The lights also kept flickering (not the main ceiling light) and one of the lights in the bathroom didnt work. I didnt sleep too well in the bed, I think the matress is memory foam (which I am not used to) and I woke up with a bad back. It would be good to see more selection of fruit/continental and greek 0% fat yoghurt, or the fruit made into a fruit cocktail. I travel a lot and having a good selection is always nice.

Beautiful location, clean and stylish decor. Excellent food in the restaurant and a delicious breakfast. the staff were friendly and efficient.

The noisy extractor fan beneath our room. We were told that it would be turned off at 9pm which was fine. However we were very kindly offered a change of room which we took up. There was also an unpleasant smell around the lower floors and at the rear entrance of the pub on the day we arrived. On the next day it was slightly better so it could have something to do with heavy rains recently.

Staff were exceptional ... a young crew eager to help. Anne was in charge and seemed to work non stop but was always pleasant. Meals good with nice choice of menu and breakfast which was adjusted when we asked for variations. Room actually very quiet with a great outlook over the river and well decorated. We liked the way the night light on the TV and on the Bathroom mirror gave you lights to find the loo in the night. Everything very clean.

Although this is an Inn we felt that some tweaks would have improved the room. Lighting in bedroom was not adequate and would suggest some low level wall lights and an additional lit mirror near the door. Another chair would have been nice to have. Bed comfort Ok but head board (Iron beadstead style) aggrivated. Bathroom well appointed but no shelf over sink and needed frosted window glass as it over looked the pub terraced area. Next time the room is updated we would suggest that the novel barn style doors are changed as you have to 'fiddle' with them in the dark.

Right on the banks of the picturesque river Windrush, this is a quite excellent gastropub. Our room was a blend of old and very new, with a very comfortable bed and a newly refurbished bathroom. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was superb. Breakfast was served in the bar the following morning and was again, superb. There is plenty of free parking. However, what made it worthy of the highest rating for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We very much recommend this place. We will definitely stay there again.

The room was a lovely spacious space, with a large bathroom. It was really clean and well maintained, all the basic facilities you would need were available, ie towels and toiletries. The pub was amazing looking and would have been great to stop and have a drink but we had a wedding to attend so didnt get a chance to. Parking was perfect there as well, lots of spaces for us. The staff were amazing, so friendly and provided numbers for taxis and were really accommodating when we asked for lots of customising of the breakfast!

There was a smell coming from the farm / river, that wasnt ideal... but not something the hotel can really stop. Might be worth providing some plug-in air fresheners or some strong air-diffusers that would make it smell nicer

Lovely old Cotswold pub, tastefully updated with lots of atmosphere. Beautiful countryside location. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Food and service were excellent!

The radiator in my room was not working on a cold night, BUT a small and efficient portable heater was provided. Rowdy group of people drunkenly singing outside the room next door at 1am (after also being very noisy in the restaurant earlier!). They moved inside but could still hear until after 2am. Happily they were only there for one night! Not the pub’s fault - just a bunch of inconsiderate people who were old enough to know better!

Lovely location with really friendly staff! We even cheekily asked to change rooms so we had a bath instead of a shower and they happily obliged much to our delight after a long day walking! Lovely decorated rooms with either a big shower or a roll top bath. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of cooked options

Bed was a little soft but that’s purely preference! We weren’t able to secure a table for dinner which was a shame although they did take that as feedback for future guests.
