54 Queen's Gate Hotel

This property is in Kensington, about 5-6 min walk from the Gloucester Road tube station (district/circle/picaddilly) so good public transportation options. There are also good bus connections to the Covent Garden area. It is also about 5-6 min walk from Hyde Park which is great for walking/running/etc. The hotel is small and appears recently remodeled. Room was very nice size and the bed was very comfortable. The room includes a refrigerator and coffee maker so we bought yogurt and cereal and ate breakfast in our room. Most importantly for my wife, it was VERY QUIET. We were in room 11 which faces away from Queen's Gate road. The staff members we met were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. (We did not avail ourselves of the available breakfast).

If you are looking for a neighborhood that has some stores/restaurants outside your door, this isn't the place. Also, be sure to set your GPS to look for "54 Queen's Gate" and not the "Queen's gate Hotel" which is at 31 Queen's gate (like we did ;-).

The location is fantastic for the Natural History Museum and The Royal Albert Hall. The staff were smartly dressed, very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean with good facilities. The shower was powerful and hot and the towels were nice and thick. The beds were clean and comfortable, with soft bed linen. The decor was stylish, and breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it to others.

Really, there were very minor things, which didn't detract from a very pleasant stay. The windows were only single glazed, so there was a bit of traffic noise, but not the end of the world, I slept very well. The loo paper could have been a bit better quality. I am really knit picking though, the rest of the facilities were fantastic.

The hotel was a 5 minute walk of the Royal Albert Hall and perfect as I was staying alone. The room was lovely with it's own terrace which will be lovely in the warmer months. Beautiful buildings will take my partner next time. TIP: If you travel by tube get off at Gloucester Road it's 5 mins walk, I made the mistake of getting of at South Kensington and it's a longer walk.

Only downside was the room was located next to the toilets on the ground floor and you could hear staff chatting and hand dryers going off, especially early in the morning when everywhere was quiet (room 7). Fortunately I am an early riser and had to leave by 8am to go into the office.

Lovely big room (Millais) on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel, which was surprisingly quiet considering the location. Good air-con and TV. Excellent shower! Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that (maybe next time). Nice comfortable lounge and very friendly staff.

The only downside was that the lift between from 2nd floor upwards was not working, and surprisingly the lady who checked us in didn’t mention this and appeared not to know. The stairs are quite steep, particularly for my wife who uses a stick. Had we been staying for more than one night we would have asked to change rooms, but ours was so nice that we decided not to.

Large room, nicely furnished and decorated, quite an elegant feel to the hotel. Also an excellent shower and a quiet room (though this was a rear-facing room, as the hotel is on a very busy road). Appreciated nice touches like robes, bottled water, nice toiletries and Nespresso. Five minutes from Gloucester Rd tube on the Piccadilly and Central/District lines.

Not really fair because it was well below zero outside, but a point deducted from comfort because the room was cold - the bathroom had only a heated towel rail, and with tiled floors and walls was Baltic, but whole room a little cold. One point deducted from staff too: all very pleasant, but a phone calle at three minutes past 11 (literally) , bluntly saying "Check out closed at 11" is a bit over-enthusiastic - we were in fact packed, and just doing a final room check, and were checked out by 11:05. Rules are rules, but giving guests just 10 minutes grace before chasing would leave a better impression. Neither point detracted from a very good hotel experience in London.

This Hotel was like a Home away from Home warm and very inviting. I can’t say enough about the staff from the moment we arrived we felt they were generally happy to see us. As far as breakfast anything that you asked for was granted whole heartily. The secret Smell met you at the front door and was hypnotic. The young Gentleman Steven and the tall young man with the ponytail ( Sorry forgot his name ) were like 2 peas in pod they worked very well together and were a delight . They bent over backwards to make sure all our needs were met any questions. They answered . We would come back just to sit and chat with them . This Hotel is very lucky to have these 2 fine young Men as part of their staff .

The Hotel was perfect .

The hotel is located in a great neighborhood in Kensington. It was a great escape to come back to after spending the day in the hustle & bustle of London. The staff was exceptional. My wife had forgot her toiletry bag and a hat when we left for the second leg of our trip. Luckily we were returning to London before flying out and were able to swing by to see if they had found it. The staff kept the items at the front desk for 7 days and we were able to retrieve them upon our return. Overall this was our favorite hotel of our stay.

No complaints whatsoever.

Staff fantastic, deluxe room beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean with fantastic power shower and large fluffy towels too. Large tv, views over the back to mews houses and so quiet. Breakfast a bonus and so were the lifts so you didn't have to carry your suitcase up the gorgeous staircase. In South Kensington, walk round the corner to the Natural History Museum/V&A or opposite way to Albert Hall/Hyde Park. Tube - Gloucester Road 8 mins max away with a KFC app it much to my daughters delight!

i loved staying at the queens gate hotel for the night, I wish I took pictures when we got in the property to show how spacious and spotless the whole room was! our bed was big enough to fit at least 3 people! the bed was so comfy too and got a decent night sleep after a night out! you feel like you’re staying in your own little flat as when you open the door to your “room” you have a little corridor before you actually enter your room! in London I didn’t think the price was too bad, we booked about a few weeks in advance of our stay and this property was about the second cheapest room a 5 minute walk away from the royal Albert hall, where we needed to be last night! for a Saturday night stay, the price was so reasonable compared to other hotels! they gave complimentary drinks and they even had a coffee machine and bath robes you could use in the room! really felt at home and this probably the only hotel I’ve stayed in where I wish we had stayed in the hotel more! staff were lovely and always happy to help out!

i wish we’d stayed longer! nothing to complain about 😊 it is a bit confusing to find especially when there is another queens gate hotel on the same road but the staff from the other hotel pointed us in the right direction to this hotel which was nice of them!

Location was fantastic for everything we wanted to do, especially for the Albert Hall on the 1st night and the museums the next day. We liked the shower, comfortable bed and room facilities. We also liked that we could leave our luggage at Reception on the last morning after checking out enabling us to make use of the day. We came back after lunch to pick it up before going home. The Hotel was exceptionally clean.

The breakfast lacked the usual extensive range of choice and the cooked breakfast was poor. It consisted of 2 fried eggs or scrambled eggs with 2 rashers of bacon only, looking lost on the plate.I.e. no baked beans,mushrooms, tomato,sausage and black pudding. On the final night we were awoken by persistent talking on mobiles on the rear terrace and despite calling Reception which temporarily stopped it, for it to happen again later. This was all in the early hours of 2 to 3am. Both these points took the edge off what was a great stay.
