The Brompton Hotel

I had read a lot of the reviews and most were pretty damning so i was pretty anxious coming to the hotel. However i have to say my son and I had a most comfortable stay. For the price that we paid,we stayed in a warm,clean cosy room...yes not the ritz but the people giving terrible reviews should realise what they are paying for. I will definately return in future.

Again for the price i paid nothing that i wouldnt have expected and was prepared to deal with. 1 thing only...we were disrupted by the man on receptionist at 9.30 on 1 of our nights stay while my 4 year old son was asleep...knocking and then opening the door of our room to come in apparently to check lights were off. Im willing to accept his explanation but its not something that i liked or felt was an adequate excuse or reason and it did make me somewhat wary and paranoid for the rest of our stay.

We liked the Hotel very much the room was warm and comfortable and clean with a lovely bathroom, with Fridge, Microwave, Iron, Hair dryer, Only a 2 minute walk to South Kensington Tube station, and a 5 min walk to the Museum's. Will definitely stay there again when we visit London, Many Thanks to the Brompton Hotel for our stay there.

There was nothing to dislike about the Brompton Hotel. There is no lift at this property but we knew this when we booked it but was not a problem for us.

I was very satisfied with the Brompton Hotel, arrived at 3pm, reception was manned and helpful, they take a £50 refundable deposit from your credit card (against room damage) and ask for photo ID before they will issue you with your key, all no problem, the deposit was quickly refunded 2 days later. The room was No 414, a single, I was very satisfied, bedding was clean, bathroom was clean, towels clean and fresh, a mini fridge was a added bonus, the shower was powerful although the water ran quite hot, wi-fi and the TV all working OK. Reception closes at 9pm, you are offered a pass code which you simply punch into the door key pad when coming home, very simple indeed, for emergencies they provide a phone number on the entry door. The location is excellent, between South Kensington underground and a very well run public house which serves excellent food, it is a short walk to the Kings Road in Chelsea. I would not hesitate to book again.

Nothing much, pity the carpet in the room was a little worn.

Amazing location for this little gem of a hotel - right by South Kensington Tube station. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, plus it’s practically next door to the museums. Fantastic staff are super- helpful and very welcoming. Very clean and tidy and no traffic noise. Absolutely perfect base for a visit.

We both are hot people so the room was a bit too warm, and we turned the radiator down. But we shouldn’t really complain about having a warm bedroom in December!

The location was great. Easy access to the underground. Many restaurants, museums, and shopping are within walking distance. Harry and the staff were amazing. Upgraded our room and helped with where to eat. The rooms were spacious and clean. Two large windows that opened for fresh air. The neighborhood was very nice and felt safe at all times.

Perfect location for the museums, 1 minute walk from South kensington tube station. Reception staff were friendly. We were allowed in the room earlier as it was ready for us. Family room a very good size. Clean towels dropped in every day. Lots of local restaurants to choose from.

The only downside were the stairs- no lift available. But stairs were well lit and airy.

The fact that I was staying in a Victorian era building with history. I liked that they provided a fan, it was warm being so high up. An extension cord would have been nice so we could place it where we wanted. I appreciated being able to park for free on the street!

We were on the 5th floor and climbed a lot of stairs with luggage but it was a good workout and fun

I don’t know why some of the reviews are so negative but we had a great experience at an affordable price. The hotel is located at a prime location and metro is 1 min away. The room was clean and staff were very helpful. We will definitely be booking this hotel next time we’re in London. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

The location was great for our trip

The decor was tired and dirty. There was no.lift in the property, had to climb 4 fights stairs with heavy bags. The price paid was way over the top for the condition of the property. The curtain in the room was very dirty and was hanging of the rail. The window in the room would not stay open as would shut when tried to open. There was a loud noise from extraction vent just outside the room.

We had a wonderful stay especially when the staff was very accomodating letting us check in earlier than planned. The room was higher than expected which was wonderful with the price given. It was comfortable and a good place to sleep in when you plan to roam the whole of London during your stay. It is near coffee shops and the museums, so you have some attractions and food places near by already. The train station is alo just across the street so travelling is no issue. The place of the hotel was spot on for people on a trip or vacation mode.
