The Grand at Trafalgar Square

Bed was great.

Coffee in the room was terrible and down the machine downstairs was broken. They would not let us get a coffiee from their dining room unless we went in to eat. Worst staff ever checking in to a "grand" hotel. She tried to say we did not have a room even though we had confirnation number. It had been booked more than a month before. When she did find it, she tried to say our card declined but then agreed it did not and it was their system. Tap in Bathroom shower made a loud tapping sound constantly. Just so you know we don't usually complain but really felt this hotel was not what they say their ratings are.

Room was very spacious and quiet (which was surprising given the busy area). There was a washing machine and dryer that we were able to use which was very handy! It was also very handy having little touches like the filtered water and reusable bottles in the hallway. Was also really nice being able to go and get a tea or coffee from the lounge at any time.

Room only cleaned every 3 days unless you requested it. This meant that we ran out of some of the supplies like shower gel but the front counter was helpful when we did. Would be good to have fresh towels and toiletries each day even if the sheets aren't changed.

The location of the hotel was excellent , near tube and all attractions. The staff was nice no lobby, but nice room with tea and hot drinks. each floor you can take a bottle and fill with water.

The room without any view, 2 small windows and very high so you can see nothing. They don't clean or tidy the room, only the third day of stay or if you ask... They room is not including safe and not a mirror (only at bath). The flood of the room was creaking.

Love the location. Centrally located near many attractions as well as the tube and train stations. From this hotel, it's an easy walk to the Thames, Westminster Abbey, Covent Gardens, etc.

Overall, I loved the property. I would have liked more amenities in the bathroom - i.e., extra toilet paper, etc. I also would have preferred the smoking block to be to the side of the front door vs in front of it.

The location was excellent. Free self-serve laundry was very useful. Hotel was quiet.

The hotel is beginning to look like it needs repairs and /or updating. Price was a little high for the size and style of room we had. Asked for a room with a view and got no response from the website and during check in the attendant had no idea if our room even had a window let alone a view.

Perfect located hotel right next to Trafalgar Square, so sightseeing, entertainment and restaurants all near by. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, classy building.

The breakfast could have more variety in fruits, also fresh veggies. the cheese selection is quite poor. Everything else was delicious though. A minibar or at least a fridge was missing in the room.

Great location right by Charing Cross Station, Trafalgar Square & a short walk to Covent Garden. Club Quarters is a nice touch as a place to relax, work or just drink free tea, coffee & water

Didn’t eat breakfast in hotel as it was really expensive. We were in front of hotel with a street view & it can be a little bit noisy, not excessively as there is double glazing, but quite a few sirens during the night!

Perfect location. Close to so many attractions. Public transportations are steps away. Filtered water equipment in each level. Tea snd Coffee machine available 24hr. Stuffs were friendly and helpful.

The room was plain.

Central location with easy transport links and within walking distance of many attractions. Coffee lounge and access to iced water on each floor proved invaluable in light of the extreme heat at the time we were in London Beautiful hotel with a grand entrance in keeping with the architecture and large, for a city centre hotel, guest rooms. Extremely comfortable beds and cris clean bedding with efficient and quiet Air Conditioning. It appears that nothing is too much trouble for the friendly efficient and professional staff beginning with Nalin who checked us in and provided information about all the facilities, making our early check in comfortable and easy. On the fourth day of our visit we were leaving and left our luggage in the hotel until late afternoon. We were invited to use the facilities when we returned for our luggage, including the coffee lounge where we could have availed ourselves of free tea, coffee and water. Again the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, including Matthew who I understand is the manager, was exceptional, in line with our initial Hello from Nalin. As an aside there were 2 wedding receptions held at the hotel while we were there. We were on the second floor at the front of the hotel, the banqueting room appeared to be on the ground floor at the front of the hotel. They appeared to be large weddings, we didn’t hear a thing.

We liked everything

The hotel is located in the center of London so it is easily accessible. It is near to everything: tourist spots, shopping and dining!

The room I was in is accesible by stairs leading to a narrow hallway. It is challenging if you have a heavy luggage.
