I’ll start from arrival, easy to find with sat nav, spacious car parking, beautiful building from outside, well tended garden. We received a lovely friendly welcome, stepping into the hallway was a real treat, it’s so lovely, Derek and Les are super, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was delightful, spacious, very nicely decorated and such comfortable beds. The whole house is exceptionally clean and the small details (tea, coffee, biscuits, water and kettle in our room. Along with luxury soaps, shampoos and shower gels in our private bathroom, to tissues, cushions in our room, and a comfortable arm chair, beautiful furniture and artwork in our room and throughout the house) are fabulous, makes your stay a real treat. It’s so very interesting. I wish our stay was more than just one night. We stayed for our son’s university graduation ceremony. Breakfast was amazing, the very best I’ve had in a hotel, so much choice and freshly cooked to order. Something for everyone’s taste and plenty of it. The silverware to serve coffee and tea was not lost on us, we loved it, such a nice touch. As you can tell, we absolutely loved everything about Holywell House and our fabulous hosts. We will definitely be coming back and for longer next time. Thank you for making our short stay so memorable. Delighted I’ve found somewhere I feel so comfortable and safe (which is important when I travel alone with my daughter sometimes).

If you need anything you only have to ask here, they are so helpful. So my answer is nothing we didn’t like at all.

Nothing was too much trouble for Les and Derek, I felt as though I’d known them for years rather than just met them, more like a friend than a guest. Les even drove me to my event (sadly a funeral). The room was really comfortable, breakfast was just right, I wish I could scramble eggs like that! Everywhere was beautifully kept, spotlessly clean, so welcoming. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends. Thank you both for making a sad reason for staying much easier to cope with.

The stairs as I am waiting for a hip operation, but that was unavoidable and Les and Derek made sure they were on hand to help me.

It was a beautiful guest house, very ornate inside and very clean. I was in an accessible twin room on the ground floor, which was very comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was very good, good choice between cereals, fruit, yoghurts and cooked items. I opted for the English breakfast, which was good quality and cooked well. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. The price was very reasonable compared to other accommodations available in Loughborough.

A very minor issue with the bathroom, it is an accessible wet room, with the toilet situated quite closely and shower head hung very high. The water went everywhere and wasn't quite warm enough. I'm pretty sure if I'd have asked for help with these, there would have been no hesitation.

Having walked past Holywell House on a number of trips to Loughborough I finally decided to book a stay and only wish I'd done so sooner. The rooms are full of character, spacious and very comfortable. As front of house, Derek was very friendly and welcoming, and though I didn't see a lot of Lez he certainly cooks a great breakfast. A welcome change from my usual 'executive' hotels (and cheaper to boot). I've already been back a second time, and wasn't at all surprised to see other familiar faces during breakfast - the experience definitely encourages repeat booking.

During my first stay, the road noise was noticeable in the morning. As an old building on a main road this is not surprising and wasn't an issue for me, but those more sensitive to road noise may want to request room to the back of the property.

Very comfortable and spacious room with excellent en suite shower, tea/coffee making facilities etc. Most comfortable bed. Breakfast superbly cooked and served in the splendid dining room. Derek and Lez are wonderful hosts, pleasant, friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent for the Great Central Railway and also close to the town centre. I was sad to leave after three wonderful nights and would recommend Holywell House unreservedly.

When I walked into the house I found it very cosy very welcoming,it was a cold day but house felt very warm, the bedroom was very nice very clean there was everything that I needed also the bathroom was very clean plenty of hot water to have a shower.the next morning went down for breakfast there was everything there for breakfast cereals fruit juice yoghurts the breakfast was very nice everything cooked to order.the owners were very friendly I would certainly go back and stay there again

Brilliant all round. Holywell has a lot of character and offered a lot, good location, parking, and breakfast. Clean and comfortable and everything needed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful and good at explaining things which is a big bonus and just what I needed. Breakfast was nice and tea was great too. Many thanks. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A gem.

It was a great stay. It could arguable be modernised slightly but actually I loved staying with an independent house with lots of character and interesting history and art work and pieces. Would 10/10 stay again. A great choice of stay for anyone.

Thank you to Derek and Lez for such a very pleasurable stay at Holywell House. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the whole place, including our room and ensuite was beautiful, very comfortable and spotless throughout. The breakfast was wonderful and very delicious. It is also in an ideal location, not far from the town centre, which was ideal for us. We will definitely stay again, next time that I have to stay over in Loughborough, this is the best place I have stayed in, and I have been going to Loughborough for many years.

Good welcome, good parking, breakfast was great, good recommendations of places close by to eat.

Rooms were at the very top of the building which meant quite a lot of stairs. Had to walk out into the corridor to a separate bathroom and toilet although we were the only people on this floor at the time we stayed. The décor and contents were a bit fussy for our tastes so it felt a bit unwelcoming as you were afraid to touch anything.

The owners were polite, welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and breakfast was lovely. Overall, it was good value for money as a guest house.

Unfortunately, the TV in my room only had signal for one channel (ITV). The wifi was also not working in my room (or possibly didn't reach my room as I was on the top floor). This was a little frustrating as I needed it for work.
