Holiday Inn Manchester - Central Park, an IHG Hotel

easy to get to location by car, very good size car park with lots of parking spaces. very close to the Manchester Central Park tramway stop, just around the corner. very warm bedding with nice space rooms.

make sure you get receipts and keep them when you check in/arrive. as due to staff error, I was almost charged twice for breakfast and car parking fee which I had paid for on arrival. also you can hear the other guests in the room corridors going back and forth due to other guests behaviour. on the last nights of stay, overnight a confused guest or guests mistook their room for mine and did try to open my room door which I awoke to banging on my room door.

The room was at a good temperature bright and clean, unfortunately, the bathroom had an empty hand soap dispenser. The breakfast was good, with a variety of food to choose from. Nice to see some vegetarian options also.

More seating in the reception area, as a large group was checking in all at the same time. We arrived after 11.30 pm as our journey took longer than we hoped for, We had to wait approx 5 mins before someone appeared at the desk despite us ringing the bell. Next, he could not find our booking as apparently after 1 am the bookings for the previous day get cleared off the system. Once that was sorted we were given our key to our room. Would have liked the check-in process to have been quicker as we were absolutely knackered.

No restaurants or bars nearby; so had to eat in hotel ( very overpriced)

Well my only gripe is - the person taking orders in the restaurant needs a bit more training. His style was er 'unrefined' and he was clearly unfamiliar with the wine and food on the menu, ie he had never heard of picpoul de pinet, called it pitbull and thought it was red wine and he brought a burger instead of bourgignon luckily my son liked the burger. I wasn't in the best of moods and it took a large glass of 'Pitbull' for me to see the funny side.

The room was large, clean and had all the facilities we needed. The shower was amazing! Great pressure, which is what I usually struggle to find at hotels. We did have two single beds pushed together, which caused an annoyed gap, even though we paid for a double room but not sure whether that is just normal for all double rooms. It wasn't too much of a problem but obviously just would have preferred a normal double as we are a couple. The beds were super comfy though! Location is great as it isn't too far away from Manchester City Centre. Hotel has its own carpark, which is always good, but there is a £5 charge per night. It is a lovely hotel. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly, helpful staff in reception and restaurant. Perfect location for us near the National Taekwondo Centre & quick walk to Central Park tram station too. It is in an industrial area so don’t expect bars, restaurants & shops. £9.99 each for breakfast sounded expensive but as there is nowhere else close by it is worth it and the food was very good, continental & cooked. I stayed in the restaurant to work for the morning once I’d dropped my daughter off. Good relaxing area with large screen TV too. From Central Park Station, it is just 3 stops (10 mins) to Exchange Square where we enjoyed our evening meal.

When choosing to stay, factor in your extra costs. £9.99 each for breakfast and £5 for parking.

Absolutely amazing staff! They were so friendly and polite! Me and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights just for leisure and they had no problem with us ordering Uber Eats to the hotel or sitting outside when it was getting late! Staff were very talkative (as are we lol, we love a good chat!) Room was cleaned to a great standard although on our last morning at 9am, a sweet cleaning lady walked in assuming we were out whilst we we’re getting dressed but we could only laugh, bless her heart🤣 sorry if I scared you lol!!! Over all it was a great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! It’s only a 10 minute maximum walk to the Tram Station where we paid £13 for a weekend ticket which took us directly into the Manchester City Centre! Thank you so much Holiday Inn Manchester, we will be back to see you in the near future! X

The staff were delightful and exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the room was nice and spacious. We requested our rooms to be close together and they couldn't have been any closer. We chose the hotel due to the carpark and was happy to be able to park our cars there over night

We had an executive room but the leather couch in the room had the leather starting to rub off on it. Most of the dinner was lovely but the chicken dish was not very nice. The bed was just a wee bit hard for our liking but I am sure other people would find this a bonus

The hotel had parking on site and is very nice and cozy, the location was good especially if you have a car as it is quite close to local supermarkets, this was my first time staying in Manchester and apart from having a few issues with the actual room, the hotel was nice.

I stayed in the hotel for the entire weekend. I didn’t like the fact that the AC was not working in my room, my bedroom become very hot and stuffy and then I was just feeling too warm and it was irritating that I couldn’t switch the AC on or open the window to cool off. Also, when I phoned reception to request for house keeping to get my room cleaned the next day they told me that apparently you are supposed book housekeeping a few days in advance and that I wouldn’t be able to get my room cleaned that which I was not told about when I was checking in either.

Not so much a dislike but had to ask for decaf coffee, staff were very busy and if a sachet was put with the teabags I wouldn't have had to disturb them. Even though they were very busy they were polite cheerful and happy to oblige and a lovely cup of coffee was on my table before I got back with my breakfast
