Good hotel in a convenient location and well priced. The bed was comfy, the shower was powerful, the towels were fluffy and the breakfast was excellent.

The hotel was really warm, even though the weather was cool - my room was pretty stifling, and even the breakfast room was too hot. I noticed the staff all had plug-in fans, so I presume this is a long term issue. I'm glad I wasn't staying there during a heatwave! Also, if you are a light sleeper note that the soundproofing is pretty poor - I was woken up lots of times by doors banging in the corridor outside my room.

Nice, clean and smart. Near everything we needed to be. Staff were nice, too.Good if you're staying over for a gig anywhere near Manchester Academy. :)

Only one tiny thing, no sort of mini fridge in the room - to keep refreshments we bought chilled. However, we didn't upgrade, so maybe the more higher priced ones do, which would make sense. :)

Clean and friendly staff, quiet location.

No air conditioning in room, outer facing room so was warm. Booked for breakfast yet had no record of it on their system, also booked & paid late checkout yet woken up by house keeping on checkout day morning.

I like that the hotel was decorated with Pride flags, with it being Manchester Pride. Also location wise, it was just a short 5-10 minute walk to the Gay Village. Also there was an actual Pendulum in the hotel - hence the Pendulum Hotel. They also provide shampoo, shower gel and conditioner as well in the shower. Breakfast was good as well with their cooked breakfast and pastry offerings, I could also fill up my water bottle as well.

Just a couple of niggles, the plumbing wasn't the best in my room, I had to flush the toilet a few times to get it clean. Also as you enter the room, the door doesn't quite open fully as there's a door stopper at the back (I'm guessing to stop it from slamming into the wall), especially when I was carrying a lot of stuff, the doorway was quite narrow. Sadly I didn't get to make the most of the vouchers they offered me as I was out for all the nights, and their food service stops at 21:00. Also, this hotel doesn't have it's own car parking but it has a near by car park on Charles Street, so be prepared to pay extra for parking if you're driving yourself.

The staff are what makes this hotel excellent. I had interactions with several members of staff & the were all very helpful & pleasant. Reception/housekeeping/bar/restaurant - service with a smile from all! The bed was in an odd place so I turned it around for the duration of my stay so that I could access the light switches. Well equipped room with iron/ironing board & the fan was used a great deal as I found the room to be very warm. Location is excellent - I felt very safe wandering to & from the hotel, sometimes quite late at night. My room was on the top/5th floor & even with the window open, it wasn't very noisy. A lot quieter than I had expected. The breakfast was excellent - good quality items, e.g. sausages & bacon, compared to some other hotels. Wi-fi was excellent too.

I'm struggling here - a few minor maintenance issues but they weren't worth complaining about.

The bright and happy welcome we received from the hotel reception team member on our arrival, despite us arriving late at night! The amount of effort and consideration that was invested in providing us with gluten free options at breakfast. The cleanliness of the hotel rooms. The location; in terms of it being a short walk to everything to can possibly need!

The room we had was very dark and in need of refurbishment; just in terms of brining it up to date. Having said that, this is only cosmetic and it was perfect for our needs and spotlessly clean.

Both staff members we met on reception were fantastic. Breakfast staff also friendly and helpful.

No air con in the room is not acceptable nowadays. Was absolutely stifling and the fan was next to useless. Bed was very small, although given that the room was tiny it might be difficult to fit something larger. When we first arrived and got the lift up to the 5th floor, as soon as the doors opened we were assailed by a cloud of flies! No idea where they’d come from, thankfully there weren’t any in the room and they had gone by the time we came back to the room later on.

Compact room but was clean & comfortable & had everything you needed. Great location. Walking distance to main areas. Easy to get to by car (just off ring road) & separate pay car park on street beside hotel, 2 minute walk. Would absolutely stay here again.

Our only negative experience at this property was when paying for the new tourist tax at the desk (£1 per room per night) we handed over a Scottish £10 note & after a brief inspection of it by the staff member, she says ‘I don’t think we can accept this’. I explained it was legal tender, it was pound sterling, after further examination she asked if we had anything else. I then said ‘it is British money’, at that point she put it in the till, gave us our change & moved swiftly on to the next guest. I’m flabbergasted that staff in such a hotel, still, do not know about or wish to accept the varying notes within the UK.

Room was clean. Bed was very comfy. There were plenty of towels. There was a hair dryer & kettle. We didn’t eat or drink at the hotel but it looked little a decent bar/restaurant with a good menu. Reception Staff were very pleasant & check in was easy. Good location inbetween Oxford road & piccadilly and about a 5 min walk from main shopping area & about 2 mins to gay village

Room was very small but absolutely fine just for a base. Seems to be attached to student/uni accommodation but couldn’t hear much noise. Not really anything bad to say, it was a surprising little gem for the price on a bank holiday weekend
