The location was great being in the centre of March. It was close enough to walk to the wedding venue, meaning my husband could have a drink. Accommodation was good.plenty of storage. The shower was amazing.. I liked the way the accommodation was set out . The facilities were good but not stated on the website. Loved the decaf hot drinks as my husband can't have caffeine. The pub served a great breakfast and was just across the courtyard. The staff were friendly.

The mattress on the bed. Every time my husband moved I felt like I could bounce off the bed. The colour of the wood on the furniture was off putting.but for two nights it was ok.

I have stayed here before a few years ago and if I’m in the area it’s my first choice. The rooms are well appointed and have modern and spotless bathrooms. Nice touches like bottles of drinking water and biscuits are a plus. Great value food and drink available in a quirky/interesting converted cinema. Very enjoyable.

There’s no car parking at the property but there’s free public parking adjacent but it can get busy. I managed to get a space reasonably easily for my stay but previously it has been full and I’ve had to wait for someone to leave. I don’t know the town well so I don’t know any alternative car parking options.

The hotel and pub were brilliant, the hotel, from check-in to the rooms, to check out was second to none! Staff are so nice and helpful, no matter what the problem, they sorted it within minutes, not that there were any big problems! the rooms were refreshed every day, with the usual plus biscuits and water! food and service at the pub were great too. We travel alot and always try for a Wetherspoons hotel as they are always good but this was one of the best

One of the rooms was a little noisy as it overlooked the courtyard, but it went quiet before 10:30pm

my husband and I stay here about once every three weeks when we come to visit my mum in a care home in March. We love the hotel rooms in the old part of the property and we try to book room 101 when we can which is a lovely large double. The lady in charge ( I think) of Maintaining the rooms knows us and always asks after my mum as she knows our purpose of our visit which is a great personal touch. The rooms are immaculate well serviced and extremely clean. Breakfast is great value and we enjoy a good evening meal and late night drinks.

Nothing to dislike except our last stay ( last night) we had room 205 which was very cosy but very tight for us and for the first time I didn’t sleep well due to noise outside . definitely wouldn’t stay again in the annexe rooms overlooking patio area.

Smooth check in, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms SPOTLESS, just a tad on the small size. Fresh towels daily, (i put towels i needed replaced on the bathroom floor) spare pillows on top of wardrobe. Black out curtains worked a treat as when outside lights were on did not effect our room. Tea coffee hot chocolate available in room with biscuits treats and bottled water provided daily, couldn’t have asked for more. Overall great stay and will be back. Thank you

Stairs up to the bedrooms were quite narrow and steeper than normal, may be a bit tight for bigger bags, or those that a bit unsteady on feet. But they do have hand rail either side. Beds a small double, i did notice it more but that is just because i have a bigger bed at home…thought i was going to fall out 😆 but i didnt🤗

Great staff, location, and the rooms went far beyond our expectations. The rooms were spotless, facilities were fantastic, and the quality exceeded our expectations. Easy and convenient check in, good food and very friendly staff. The rooms were a very big size with lovely high ceilings, and big bathroom with both shower and bath. Fresh clean linen and towels, all the facilities we needed such as iron and hairdryer included and a good range of refreshments in the room. Great location for our visit, convenient access to the rooms 24/7, no outside noise in the room from either the road or the venue.

We did have to work remotely for an hour each morning (although our main purpose for visit was leisure) and unfortunately the WIFI was poor, alongside the lack of safe to keep valuables during our three night stay.

Happy with this hotel in general. Very clean and tidy room. well done housekeeping, and very comfy bed. And would have rated it Exceptional but for two things,

First was the one and only disabled car park space was obliterated and unusable as it had table and chairs on it. When I queried this at check in I was told its been like that since the covid rules came in. I pointed out those rules have ended sometime ago. Just to be given a shrug of the shoulders. So disabled users beware. The car park across the road I was sent to is very very busy, small and has NO blue badge bays. When I got a space after a while, I found later I was blocked in by careless selfish parkers The second issue was the room aircon kept turning off. so room gets hot and you cant open windows.

Value for money, excellent staff so very helpful polite and cheerful. Replenished all teas coffee's hot chocolate and even biscuits each day oh! and bottles of water. Good sized rooms, so handy having a car park next door too, which was free . Very pleasant outdoor area. All in all, a very good short stay accommodation.

Hand rail in shower would be handy for us old folk. Plus a shelf for own shower items. One set of drawers for underwear and small items of clothing would have been nice, rather than these staying in the suitcase, but not a deal breaker at all. A quite area inside for guests would be icing on cake as finding table to eat was difficult in the evening and very noisy.

rooms were clean and good value

we chose to eat in the Wetherspoons adjoining as we had an early start the next morning we ordered at 6pm and received food at 7.55pm. Had to wait almost 2 hours for our food we asked a few times and the staff just kept saying we are working through the orders and we have a fryer out of order. Tables around us that ordered after us were served before us, we complained again and were told their food didn’t need a fryer, yet they had ordered 2 meals identical to our order and the rest of our order didn’t need a fryer… absolute chaos…. and dirty plates and glasses everywhere. Hotel was fine but try and eat elsewhere.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The family room we had was in the old building with amazing glass and huge wooden doors and a grand old staircase. It was a great size and very clean and one wall had beautiful old wood panelling. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer all provided as well as kettle, tea and coffee etc and a couple of small bottles of water. The ease of grabbing a light,or heavy, breakfast in the morning, also made things nice and simple. The air conditioning was very much appreciated and worked a treat.

The only thing I can think of is the other bedroom doors banging. They are very hefty doors and on strong springs, so it’s unavoidable. Noisy but didn’t disturb us greatly and certainly wouldn’t stop us going back.
