The Elm Tree Inn

The room was decorated to a high standard as was the bathroom. The shower worked well and the water was a consistent temperature. We were apprehensive about staying as we booked last minute but we were pleasantly surprised and happy to stay Staff were friendly and helpful - in particular the gentleman who looked after us whilst we were having a meal - his hosting skills were excellent, nothing seemed too much trouble and he seemed very passionate about his job and working for you - I would certainly consider training him up to be a "manager of the future"!

There isn't anything to do in Wishbech and the beaches were about a 30 minute drive - I would definitely stay again though due to how pleasant the pub and the accommodation are!

I loved that the cooked breakfast was cooked fresh to order. So many places nowadays have a buffet hot breakfast so having something cooked fresh was fantastic.

There isn’t really anything not to like about this property just a couple of things to be aware of. Firstly if you are travelling mid week like I was the pub does close early but the advantage is no noisy drunks when you are trying to sleep and the property itself is in a little estate just off the main road. The room was comfortable and clean with a lovely view from the window and the staff were polite and friendly.

My wife and I were very pleased with the Elm Tree Inn. The room was about as good as we could have expected. The staff were excellent. We ate two meals with family and friends and everyone was as happy as could be with their food. The chef actually comes out and asks you if you were happy with your meal. He can do that because he has confidence that the food is very, very good. Our first meal was with five people and the second was with ten. There was not one single problem with any of those meals. The food was cooked to a very high standard, the meals came out very close to each other, and the staff knew exactly how to deal with diners. There is a small decked area for guests which looks out across fields. We sat there while we waited for a function to begin and we all felt really relaxed. The hotel is very close to Wisbech, which is unfortunately not the most attractive to town visit, but is feels a world away from that. When I next visit Wisbech, I will look for availability at this venue before considering any other. It was that good. This hotel allows dogs outside.

The ceiling in the room was low. The shower was a bit slow to drain away. The TV in the room was too small. If you tip by card, the employees do not get the money. it goes to the business. That is not fair. The staff were very good and they deserve the tips however they are paid.

This is our second stay at the Elm Tree Inn whilst meeting friends who camp locally. Bedroom very clean and bed very comfy. Spotless en suite with toiletries provided. Can't comment on the breakfast or food as we didn't eat in the pub, but looks very good. Plenty of free parking

We had fun and games adjusting the temperature on the shower, but plenty of hot water and powerful shower. Otherwise everything perfect for what we wanted.

Stayed here three times now for work, same room every time - spacious, modern, bright, clean, good hot shower, clean comfortable bed, plenty of tea/coffee/milk/biscuits, welcoming staff, good food from the restaurant, plenty of parking, separate room access direct from outside/car park so great for coming and going. Will be back!

There's nothing not to like, my only criticism/feedback of the room i've been in is it's something like 20 feet long, so the pillow is a long way from the tiny tv at the opposite end, which is even small when sitting in the chairs at the coffee table. A 32" on the wall would be perfect for a room this size. A lamp by the coffee facilities would be handy rather than having to turn on all the ceiling lights to see what you're doing. And better coffee cups - they are curved in a way that's it's difficult to make or drink the coffee without spilling it. But this is just feedback, i'll be back soon and would highly recommend!

Location was good, 5 minutes drive into Wisbech and next to the main road to King's Lynn. The rooms are very comfortable, well decorated and with all conveniences to hand - the inn below serves great food and breakfast was excellent, very reasonably priced and with high quality ingredients.

Very minor...the TV handset was well worn and needs replacing! Otherwise, nothing - it was perfect!

Great location, I stayed here to visit family. Easy to find, lots of parking space. Food was excellent, don’t miss the breakfast. I had a really comfortable night in a clean, spacious and well-equipped room. The staff couldn’t do enough to help. I will definitely stay here again.

My room was reached by outside stairs which could prove tricky with any mobility issues. I couldn’t carry my case up there so left it in the car.

Great little hotel/local pub. Staff were really helpful, pleasant and friendly despite being busy they still looked after me throughout the evening. Food was great and good value for money and the atmosphere was good, relaxed and friendly but not noisy so it made for a pleasant evening. The room was clean and tidy with everything you needed for an overnight stay including plenty of tea and coffee supplies.

No real gripes at all other than the radiator in the bathroom couldn't be turned off and was roasting which in turn made the whole room warm if the bathroom door was left open, some may like this and it not bother them but I like a cold room to sleep in so kept the bathroom door shut and my window open. All in all though it wasn't a big issue and would not deter me from staying again.

Excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was small but had everything I needed, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Very cute and comfortable patio area. I would definitely stay here again!

I would have liked better airflow in the room, it got a bit stuffy at times.

Great off street Inn. Bar shuts at 9 pm so one can have a quiet night sleeps. Bar very welcoming. Food was good. Staff very amicable.

Only drawback was you have to go outside to get to the bedrooms and climb up a staircase to a residents terrace so will be very pleasant in the Summer, but not too sure about winter visits if a howling gale. Saying that would not put me off going again.
