Holiday Inn Milton Keynes East M1 Junc 14, an IHG Hotel

Before we arrived, we had several messages from the hotel as they wanted to give us the most comfortable room for us, and on the ground floor because of walking problems. So the caring started even before we walked through the door. The atmosphere was lovely in the hotel. Lovely housekeeping staff, very caring. Lovely staff in the breakfast room, they had so much patience with people. Having worked in the profession myself, we just notice how sometimes people negatively treat staff. But Holiday Inn staff are totally wonderful. We will be back, thank you.

So pleasantly surprised. Such a lovely-looking Hotel. I loved the room and BATHROOM!! Plus the guest areas; the reception. the bar, the breakfast hall and the view. Everything looked lovely and beautifully designed. The staff were nice, polite and helpful. Really enjoyed my stay and won't stay anywhere else again when I'm in the Milton Keynes area. Happy to see an iron and ironing board in the room. Nice touch

Woken up around 6am by the people in the room next door disputing or debating something. If I'm being very picky, there was a slight cream coloured stain on the right curtain (Room 38). Once I did notice it, I couldn't unsee it and found it a little offputting. The black swivel chair was very squeaky when sat on and turning. I may not have picked it if I knew it was a pet-friendly hotel, but am glad I did not realise, as I would have missed out on a great hotel (Apart from a dog barking a bit in the hall at one point no problems)

The room was well maintained and the bed was comfy with clean fresh bed linen and towels. The staff were lovely and genuinely helpful courteous and professional. They made our stay.

I dined here pre Covid and found the food choices much better then. The restaurant was ‘half hearted’ this time round, with the breakfast buffet tables covered in sheets at lunch and dinner times. Surely a screen would be better? It was like sitting in a room being decorated, and definitely not welcoming. The service in the bar was good, it’s a shame it was a little chilly in there, but I guess that’s a sign of the times. We chose to stay in the hotel for the evening as we’d met up with old friends and we wanted to have drinks and a chat, but we felt the hotel was geared up for more transient guests. A little background music would have given the bar a bit more of an atmosphere too. All that said, we would stay here again as we really enjoyed our stay.

The room itself was very nice, excellent ensuite and very peaceful. Breakfast was very comprehensive and the hot food was hot. Staff in reception and the dining room were of a high standard. We have stayed at the hotel before and found it a very pleasant establishment and therefore we booked again and this time for more than just one night.

Our experience on this occasion was greatly effected by the total lack of housekeeping in our suite. We left for a day out at 10am, on our return at 4.30pm we found the room was in the same condition as when we had left. Bed unmade, coffee cups unwashed, glasses unwashed and no clean towels. There was someone cleaning in the next suite but he had everything all over the floor in the corridor. We asked him for clean towels, which he did give us. We did not allow him to do the room as we had returned from a busy day out and we wanted to rest. However this lad did not even offer to do our room and it was inconvenient for his to get us the clean towels. He was not a good representation of the other staff we had encountered.

My first and wont be last time staying here at the Holiday Inn Hotel outside MiK. Everyone and everything was A1 Top service absolutely awswome the best New year's Break so far thanks to the lovely friendly warm welcoming extremely helpful staff at the hotel. I would also like a huge big thanks to reception staff and especially to Kelly'who made it all possible by pulling out all the stop in aiding my stay making it one of the most memorable stays at any hotel. Although Kelly is recently new to your hotel she has incredible fantastic customer service and right from the booking over the telephone to check out she delivered and exceeded my expectations I wish her a happy bright career at your hotel. Thanks to her I certainly look forward to another awesome stay at the hotel in the near future.

Loved how peaceful it was. Thought it might be heaving due to the F1, but it was lovely and quiet. Staff couldn’t have been nicer! And the steak I had for dinner was lovely - great sized portion of garlic butter.

The breakfasts were not so great. Great amount of choice, but I got eggs, sausage and toast each morning. The scrambled egg was very watery and the fried egg wasn’t that nice either. (Not complaining, just since you’re asking!)

Wonderful building with lots of history. The areas around the dining rooms were beautifully furnished and had several seating areas with tv in each area perfect for small groups/families to gather to socialise with each other. Breakfast experience was lovely. Walk in shower in ensuite was perfect.

Would have chosen a bath if we'd been given the choice as our disabled son wouldn't use the shower ;( We could have checked if we had thought about it and I am sure they would have obliged as the hotel staff were all customer care orientated.

Was refreshing to stay at a characteristic building instead of a modern hotels with similar layouts. The courtyard was lovely to relax in and have a drink at. Staff were super friendly and nice, especially the hotel manager who welcomed us at the reception, and the bar staff who served us dinner and food. They were polite and engaging. The manager was very accommodating too. Paid only 20 pounds extra for dinner and breakfast inclusion for both me and my partner. Had a 3-course meal for dinner and exceeded my expectation. The food was exceptional for the price. Good variety of choices for breakfast too. The room was clean and the bed was extra comfy. Would definitely visit again!

Personally found the pillow difficult to sleep on, but the bed was comfy otherwise. The garden table in the courtyard could do with a bit more attending to, as there were quite a few stain marks left by drinks.

lovely comfortable hotel, even had chocolate and crisps in the room for snacks staff were all friendly and welcoming. lovely comfortable 4 poster bed perfect to relax and unwind, so good I can’t comment on breakfast as I slept in. easy to control heating or air con.

the room i was in had no plug sockets near to any mirrors making it difficult to style hair etc. I didn’t raise this and sure they would have offered a solution if I did but a mirror would be good near to one of the tables with play sockets.

I’ve stayed here before, and as previously, the room was a good size and the shower was lovely. The staff were excellent and very attentive. And we ate at the bar this time, and my club sandwich and my colleague’s pizza were very large and very tasty indeed, and the food and drink price offered great value for money

On this stay, some of the linen was dirty (marked, rather than anything horrible) and there was a hair in the sink. But to be fair, these are pretty minor gripes
