Staff without exception courteous, helpful and friendly. A special mention for Nathan and Molly: as we were away before breakfast started (0800); our bill was adjusted appropriately. Milk provided for our room in a flask, excellent admin. Room (number 4) spotless and well provided, bath exceptional. An eclectic selection of delicious ales, thank you kind y!

On a sunday the kitchen shuts at 1800. This not made clear by booking.com. Yes alternative venues are close but not being able to dine where we were staying took the glitter off what was otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable overnight interlude.

Despite being extremely busy and issues with the booking.com payment method, the staff were courteous and we weren't kept standing around waiting, but shown to the bar for a few minutes before checking in and sorting everything out after we'd got to the room and had eaten. Speaking of the dinner, the food was great, and there was no problem having our little dog with us either - it was really just a great experience. The shower in the room is simply one of the best I've encountered in hundreds of hotels, and the coffee in the room is also excellent cafietiere ground, not just instant. Although we were only staying to avoid a long morning drive to an early morning flight from the airport, it was one of the best hotel experiences we've had - far better than many expensive hotel chains and those that claim to be "boutique". We will definitely stay again!

Only that we couldn't stay longer!

Lovely, recently decorated room with a comfy bed, good lighting and all mod cons. Great rainfall shower in bathroom with top notch toiletries. Considering it's a pub, it was very quiet at night. We had a room at the back so no road noise. Great bustling pub downstairs with excellent food. The young staff are friendly and competent. Sign up for the brewery's loyalty card and you get 25% off on Wednesdays and other specials through the week. Nice little cooked breakfast in the morning, again with a helpful staff member. We were very impressed with value for money and will return. Convenient for break in Bristol, drive down that A road a few miles and the park and ride into Bristol is just off of it.

Nothing.

The room was fantastic. Great size, super comfortable and well equipped. Great shower in the morning too. Lovely furnishings made it a relaxing experience after a long journey. Staff were excellent, attentive, friendly and supportive - no request too much. The way things should be. I can also highly recommend the burger - the food generally was very good.

The rooms aren't terribly sound-insulated (they make no assertion that they are, mind you) so I heard quite a bit of noise (voices / music) in the morning, but it didn't disturb my evening or sleep at all.

The staff were friendly, helpful and open to suggestions for improvement - they were about to begin a major refurbishment. The food at breakfast and dinner was superb - this is not pub grub but pricey-restaurant standard at not far off pub prices. Dogs are genuinely welcomed, and there is an enjoyable country walk starting with a footpath that goes along a lane and then up a path with great views.

The online systems for checking in and registering as a loyalty club member (25% off food on Wednesdays) were clunky, confusing and ultimately didn't work. Fortunately, the staff were able to sort out both with no fuss. My bank initially refused to approve the payment despite my having provided card details in advance, which was embarrassing - I've not encountered this with other places I stay.

Great value comfortable pub with 6 rooms. Spotless, recently refurb’d superior room, excellent food both at dinner and breakfast served by very friendly staff. Butcombe beer was very pleasant. Off-street parking readily available though presumably more difficult if checking in during busy pub opening hours.

It’s on a main road so some traffic noise at rush hours if your room is at the front. Smoke alarm in the kitchen overly sensitive as it kept going off during dinner prep. Reassuring it works and no doubt easily fixed, if a little annoying.

The food here is absolutely delicious. We couldn't fault any of it. Hot and fresh. My partner loved the local ale's etc. availability on tap. Our room was extremely cosy and we loved that we had tea and coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed and clean and tidy room.

Not sure if it's something that can be changed, but because our room was at the back, we did notice the noise from the vent that went on and off intermittently through the night.

This inn is very cozy and located very close to Bristol Airport. The room was clean and prepared with good amenities

There only 2 things which I didn`t appreciate at this accommodation - 1: noise during late evening in the inn`s bar/restaurant which can easily be heard in the rooms upstairs and 2: if you need to leave early in the morning there is no way to have a to go breakfast but you are still charged (I paid around 30 pounds breakfast for 2 persons and they could give me some croissants to go only)

The staff were very welcoming. Our room was very pleasant and spotlessly clean. The en-suite was clean, with shower gel, shampoo, hand wash and hand lotion. The towels were thick and fresh. The breakfast menu was available and the times of breakfast service were explained. There was a well stocked bar and taster beer was available. The food was very good and an interesting menu. Breakfast was delicious and well presented.

There was nothing we didn’t like, could not find fault with anything.

A modern room with nice interior decoration and soft furnishings. Modern ensuite also. A comfortable bed. And a great touch with the radio playing in the room as we entered. Calming & mellow. Delicioussss cafetiere ground coffee (a hit with my Mr), variety of standard & flavoured tea bags and bottled water. We enjoyed breakfast. Hit the spot ! Customer service on point .. start to finish. Would we stay again ..? Yes, we would.
