There’s so many things to love about this place, the lodges are beautifully done with all you need for your stay. The views to wake up to are spectacular, take some camping chairs to make the most of the scenery on the patio. The staff were fantastic, really nice feel about the place. The full English breakfast is superb with beautiful views from the dining room. So many places to visit from this location too, we had to narrow down the options as we couldn’t fit it all in! This location is perfect for Lynton and Lynmouth (go on the cliff railway), Valley of Rocks is a must do, there’s also exmoor national park, Dunster Castle, woolacombe and Ilfracombe. Highly recommend The Poltimore Inn.

The lodges are set back from the property with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.Lodges were very clean and modern. The breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice on the menu

Parking was in the square opposite as there is no car park for the inn. However there were always a few spaces. The lodges could have done with a wardrobe as they only had under bed storage with you had to move the bedside table to gain access to and some wall hangers. The morning chef had a dirty tunic on one morning and it was 7.30 in the morning and wore the same one the next day ( I notice little things sorry! ) Waitress lady one morning was just wearing jeans and a brewing company baggy tee shirt.Maybe a smarter polo top or blouse would have been better

All the staff were really friendly, the restaurant had views to die for, overlooking the valley below. Dinner menu had a great choice with daily specials, the pork fillet was really tasty. Freshly cooked Full English Breakfast was tasty and included in the price of the accommodation. We enjoyed the use of the pool table after dinner - just 50p per play. Good choice of well managed beers.

The room was clean, and we had a good nights sleep on comfortable beds. The room could be enhanced with some local themed pictures in associated with the themed names of the rooms. This would greatly enhance the accommodation.

Had a wonderful stay which exceeded our expectations. Great welcome and delighted to be upgraded to a beautiful, lodge style room with our own balcony. Stunning views of rolling countryside with horses and foals etc. There was even a telescope to view the night skies! Room spotless, spacious, very comfortable bed and great en-suite shower. Up the hill to the main Inn for a delicious breakfast which set us up for the day. We also had our evening meals there which were excellent. Great service with a smile. The grounds and gardens were beautiful too with original metal artwork statues, great fun. We were really sorry to leave and definitely hope to return!

A warm welcome as soon as you walk in. We were shown down to our small but quaint lodge. Ample space with a huge bed. The on-suite was a good size with a lage shower cubicle was very roomy and as for the shower it self had three settings the jet felt powerful to rip your skin off not in a bad way as it left you invigorated. If you like power showers you'll love these. The restaurant area at the back of the pub has beautiful views. The food was tasty, and had a good veriety, what really was good is that the food was hot and actually came out also on hot plates. The breakfast was just the same, good choices, tasty and all hot.

Absolutely nothing 10/10

clean and comfortable. breakfasts were fabulous. a variety of meals for kids at the pub restaurant. beds very comfortable. staff really lovely and the pace had a homely feel. lovely gardens. lovely little village. there’s a local playground by the church which the children enjoyed in between outings.

the telescopes were only for use in events, which wasn’t clear upon booking. star gazing was the focus of the trip so we were disappointed. however the staff did allow us to set our telescope up on a grass verge near the observatory. bring ear plugs as it is a pub so there is evening noise. we slept through it.

Great Local Traditional Pub with amazing food and a great selection of ciders. Accommodation was lovely, good-sized, and modern lodges with a fantastic shower. Garden View was worth the extra money, especially when looking out at the beautiful star filled night sky (in between the rain clouds). Breakfast which was included with our lodge was really good and can highly recommend.

There is no onsite parking and very limited street parking available. Lodges are accessed via steep hill. Couldn't find any decent dog walks nearby (I'm sure there is some but weren't made obvious during our stay).

The people were so very friendly, fun and helpful. They were like friends from the moment we entered. The half of the bungalow we had is only 2 years old and clean with everything you want. They carried our cases down, luckily! They intend to get something like a golf buggy. Parking is conveniently without charge on the square opposite the building.

The steep hill. Something the host needs to make guests aware of is that the accomodation is in the garden, quite a long way away down a very steep hill. I had asked for a room without stairs and I got the correct answer, but.... for somebody who can't walk much or well, this was a challenge!

Location was a little bit rural but actually very convenient for Exmoor, Barnstaple and the surrounding area. Very comfortable 'pod', very clean and housekeeping excellent. Very quiet location. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, plentiful and freshly prepared. Ate at the restaurant one evening and the meal was very enjoyable. Beautiful views.

Would have liked two armchairs in the room.

Parking was a bit hit and miss as was only available in the street outside and was not private to the inn Travelled with my elderly mum who struggled with the steep hill we had to go up and down to get to our lodge (not their fault obviously)
