The World's End - Northampton

Arrived quite late so no chance to enjoy what looked like a busy restaurant, but did get to examine the menu briefly and what a shame we got there late - Looked very nice. If the breakfast was anything to go by we missed a treat. Great size room which was immaculate. Good size TV and full drink making facilities. Bath and shower with perfect water temp without any messing about with anything. Room was reasonably quiet, very quiet in fact until maybe 7am when traffic noise apparent but not too intrusive (we faced a road room 9) I mentioned breakfast, but worthy of another reference - it was simply excellent - cooked to order with table service, very nice. And you get to pick your table, something we are both grateful for when visiting hotels.

I'd be being picky here, it was so good elsewhere any minor points are completely irrelevant

Bernie greeted me when I arrived later than I thought I would do. The restaurant was closed but she arranged me some supper (cheese platter and a beer) delivered to my room. The following morning I had to leave before breakfast and she arranged a bacon sandwich and coffee for me to take away. With staff like this how could this not be a great place to stay? A big thank you to Bernie, she was a credit to the hotel and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It will be my place to stay in future when I am in the area. Thanks again Bernie you were star.

Room was to warm and the thermostat has the numbers worn off. Room was a bit noisy with the window open

The Hotel is spotlessly clean and my room was situated on the ground floor at the rear of property(as I requested). It was overlooking the car park area and was away from the main entrance. Room 6 was warm and clean. The food was hot and freshly cooked. The Staff were very helpfully and welcoming. Its in a perfect location and great value for money. First Class Customer Service. We will definitely be returning.

I think there should be a better smoking shelter away from the main and side entrances of the building. Its not very welcoming for guests (who are arriving into the restaurant just to eat). Maybe, the guests (who smoke) can be advised to smoke away from these areas?? Just a suggestion.

My colleague and I felt very comfortable in the hotel. It is easily accessible, the rooms are quiet, simple, spacious and everything is very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was "typically English", so very plentiful. On request, you could get warm dishes such as scrambled eggs, omelette, sausages, bacon etc. in addition to the breakfast buffet. A small menu was available for the selection. We went to the hotel's own restaurant in the evening after our arrival, which was very well attended. The choice of food (regional cuisine) was very good and the food really excellent. There was also a wine list with a very good selection of wines. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Both at the reception and in the restaurant. We will definitely use the hotel more often.

Locasion was perfect as I had meetings close the following day and when I booked it I was fearing the worst due to the hotel name ;-) but it was a gem. The room was spacious and clean, the bar was cosy with great choices, the evening meal was excellent etc etc. The staff were very helpful. First class and I will stay here again

Wifi could've been a bit better but it did work but was a little tempremental in my room. There was an occasional wait in the bar as it seemed as though the bar staff had several jobs to do but it did not detract from the great experience.

Nice room. Think it was supposed to be underfloor heating (nothing visible) but not cold in bedroom.

If there was underfloor heating -bathroom floor was cold. We ate there on the night we arrived and dining room was cold. Cold also following morning for breakfast, but it did improve on subsequent days. Had a drink in bar one evening and barperson, far from friendly. He didn't speak clearly and turned away mid question (not helpful when you have a hearing problem)

24hr access was convenient as we were visiting family and didn't know what time we would be back We arrived back just as they closed the bar and they let us take drinks to our room Really helpful Staff on reception checked our booking as I'd booked a double but confirmation said twin .. when I called she gave us the local taxi number as I'd explained our plan and she said that while it wasn't far to where we were going, travelling back at night would be very dark and risky so cab was the best option

Weirdly noisy at night- it may have been because there was a temporary road signal just down the road or because, despite having to go upstairs, the rooms on the first floor are level with the road (because the main entrance is down a slope) but the intermittent cars were really noticeable Not necessarily anyones fault but my partner slipped getting out of the bath, ironically because he used the mat, we reported it at reception just to let them know but i don't think the poor lad who was there at the time knew what to do with that information..we told him on the way out so they may have followed up on it.

The room was spacious and tastefully furnished. The bar area was welcoming with a good selection of drinks. Breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked. Plenty of car parking. Shops a short drive away.

The only thing which could have been improved was the coffee at breakfast. The menu boasts ‘freshly brewed coffee’ but in reality it was a sachet of Nescafé and a hot water boiler. Also some pastries would have been welcome, as an alternative to cereal.

The staff were amazing! It was our 1st wedding anniversary (we stayed here the night of our wedding so wanted to return there). Unfortunately we were unsure of the times for dinner however the staff managed to get us checked in quickly and set a table for us so we could have dinner in time. All staff were helpful, polite and so friendly! The room was it fantastic condition and so clean and tidy! Food is amazing! Never disappointed when we stay here!
