The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. The beds were very comfortable and the room temperature was comfortable despite the very hot weather (over 25 degrees outside). We were very impressed with all the staff we spoke to - very friendly and helpful. We had the impression they were a very close team.

Although the bathroom was good, it was difficult to adjust the temperature of the shower and the air extractor was not very effective. We discussed this with the manager who apologized and was aware of the issues and clearly doing all he could to address the issues.

I came across this hotel as it was close by to our friends wedding at Stanley House. I was really happy when we arrived it was later then expected and although the kitchen was closed was offered sandwiches we had already eaten but appreciated the offer. The rooms was decorated really modern and had a comfort feel to the room. The room had extras, your standard tea/coffee/water/biscuits etc all very much appreciated. The breakfast was nice, it was offered at a discount rate and had a very good choice for all, I also enjoyed having my morning coffee with a peacock which was roaming the outdoors.

There isn't much to say in this area, the only little bit of feedback I could offer is to supply a mirror on the table/desk to allow people to sit comfortably whilst styling hair and applying makeup. There is a long mirror within the room but meant I had to sit on the floor.

We were really impressed with this hotel. Friendly check-in. Good sized room. Comfy bed. It was so nice to see all the old fashioned trimmings like tea and biscuits and even a shower cap. (The first shower cap we encountered in 5 hotels over 2 weeks!) The breakfast was superb and far better than we experienced in other places. Fascinating to see all the history on the walls as it is named after Donald Campbell's Bluebirds and his attempts at world speed records. We will definitely use this as a stop off to London again. Thankyou.

Nothing!

this is a place that gets everything right! Gorgeous comfy room, nice linens, fluffy towels, nice extra touches like extra pillows and coffee bags as well as the standard tea/coffee/sugar sachets. Fantastic welcome on arrival, easy check in and super helpful staff. The best full English my husband has had in years (his words) and really extensive breakfast menu with eggs Benedict and Omelette Arnold Bennett as standard items. It feels like a family run property, even though it’s a JW Lees house - friendly atmosphere, warm and cosy, and it’s spotlessly clean, and I do mean spotless! Every surface gleams everywhere you look. Then there is the restaurant, we have eaten there before and it was one of the factors which made us book but honestly - try the Cheese and Onion Pie with cheddar sauce; thank me later. The food screams quality, generous portions, beautifully presented and there is nothing generic about the menu. Full table service and a great wine list.

Nothing… will book again in a heartbeat.

Everything was good. Great staff greeting, very polite, great location, as we were going to Ribchester, only down the road, it was ideal.

Not what I didn't like, but something I would have liked, was a chair, more like an arm chair, that other disabled people could benifit from, and also more spare pillows, for me I could have done with another 4 pillows, to account for my disability, please don't take this as a complaint, far from it, this is just an idea from a disabled point of view

Not the first time I have stayed here. Situated in a quiet location which was my preference with on-site parking. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are beautiful and well appointed with very comfy beds and all the facilities you require. The menu is extensive and has a lot of choice and the quality of the food is excellent every time I have been to stay. Breakfast is equally as fantastic and starts at 7:15am so early enough for business travelers like myself. Selection of beers, real ales and wines is always good - Love this place and always enjoy coming back to stay - its not the closest place to where I am working when I am in this area but it's worth the 25 minute journey to enjoy this place and all it has to offer.

WIFI signal can sometimes drop off due to its location - actually think that may be a positive though................!!

Rooms are great - large, clean & comfortable. Toiletries and hot drinks available in the room which is great! Staff are beyond helpful. Breakfast was great, so many options and great quality products used.

No fault of the hotel staff, but if you are attending for business and can't take your luggage with you to a meeting etc - the only option at the hotel is to leave your luggage in the bar area and at your own risk - so I had to find an alternative solution with my luggage. Maybe an option to leave the case at least in the hotel area (which is protected by a key card) would be helpful in future?

Friendly welcoming staff and a quick check-in. Lovely cosy room, tastily furnished in neutral tones. Smart clean modern bathroom with good toiletries. Hospitality tray was very good with coffee bags and proper biscuits - excellent! I was slightly concerned about the noise from the main road but our room was at the back and we didn't hear a thing. Really comfy bed and we slept well. Breakfast was excellent for both hot and cold choices and the evening meals were very good. Free parking. Excellent value for money all round.

Our meal on the Sunday night was not as good as the Saturday night, perhaps we had a new chef? Still fine and perfectly reasonable and good to have food available until 8pm on a Sunday.

Staff very nice and attentive. Room lovely and clean but shower could do with a bit of an upgrade due to mould around the bottom. I stayed 2 nights so it was nice that the facilities were topped up after my first night.

Room very, very warm even though windows opened, as much as they could be, due to the alarms, pity no air con available. Shame there is no mirror above table in main room as when you have had a shower the mirror steams up (you have to keep the door closed in case it sets off the alarm) so you can't see to get ready and only other mirror in the tall one which isn't really convenient as you have nowhere to put makeup etc. Had to improvise by moving the chair, putting the items on top of suitcase but managed.

The staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. The hotel room was very clean and well maintained. We were allocated a lovely quiet room at the end of a corridor which was ideal as we have young kids. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast during our stay and both meals we had were great and the staff were happy to accommodate alteration requests for the kids meals. A great place to stop for a night!

No complaints at all.
