The Roseate Reading

The hotel exceeded my expectations and Simon operations manager went out of his way to make our stay extra special. The food was outstanding, we stayed in a quiet room with air conditioning, everything was outstanding!

I think the reception desk staff could be more willing to explain to guests what is going on, instead of cutting the conversations short and not offering an alternative choice or explanation when things go wrong for unexpected reasons.

When I originally booked I asked if it is possible to check in a little early - and not only did I manage to get into the room ahead of time, we also managed to get a free upgrade which was not expected! The service was exceptional, the location is great for us (We were going to the Abbey Ruin concert) and the suite was just beautiful. The breakfast was amazing. You can choose from a menu or you can have the buffet.

Nothing. Everything was amazing and it was a perfect weekend for me and my partner. I really had a wonderful time and I am looking at staying longer next time and book myself for the spa!

I didn’t have any breakfast, but lunch was good as was the bar the first evening before the Festival. The room was quiet and well appointed.

The bar was shut early when I returned from the first night at Reading Festival, I was told it had been too quiet, so closed earlier than usual. Ironically it was quiet because of the Festival, which finished at 11 pm. The queue for taxi’s was slow moving, so people were returning later. The Night Manager was quite curt , not only with me but also with the poor waiter regarding my request for some wine to take to my room. That unfortunately needs addressing in a hotel of this standard , alternatively re stock the empty minibar in the room, all the glasses & fridge are there, you take a card on arrival , so what is the issue ?

I stay here often and or though it's more on the expensive side compared to other hotels in the area I can assure anyone that if you stay here you will be treated like their only client. Reception were fantastic and have been since my staying here over two years, the person that carries the bags forget the name now lol, very professional and polite, the restaurant staff second to none and perfection all round.

There wasn't anything but if I had to find something which would be really silly of me is that the plugs aren't usb they're just socket. I feel awful for saying that but that's the only thing I could be critical of

we stayed at the in-house apartments and Jon arrive the room was perfectly ready for me and my family my 2 year old had his cot bed ready for him and my daughter had her extra bed ready for her .The stuff are so friendly and polite , especially their event team manager Sharon and her team they where super helpful with our dinner booking Mc breakfast even during the busy period . they made our stay so comfortable and relaxing . our coffee machine want working on Christmas Day we rang reception and they had one sent to us straight away . breaks was was superb my daughter enjoyed their pancakes and their sausages is just delicious yum yum .

their cinema room was loverly and clean but their movie selection wasn’t all that plus I think it should be better presented instead of just a sheet of paper .

We booked a Queen suite as a pre Christmas treat. Amazing value for money. We had our own kitchen, spacious living room with a balcony and a gorgeous bathroom. The location is perfect as it’s only a few minutes walk to the town centre. The staff were lovely and were really helpful taking the baggage to our room which was in a separate private building at the back of the car park. We didn’t get to try out the breakfast in the morning but will make sure we do on our next stay. The inside of the main building is absolutely stunning. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

The staff were wonderful, lobby is beautiful, breakfast was extremely nice in a small but bright ground floor room, everything was very clean. Parking on site was expensive but felt very secure and convenient. An expensive weekend over Reading Festival but still felt reasonable value for money.

The House is an annex across the car park, where we were given rooms, not quite as nice as the hotel, and there was no obvious way to call reception, but still a lovely room.

Very glamorous inside, professional and welcoming staff and gorgeous food. Great location in the centre and overall great service and stay.

Was under the impression that housekeeping would replenish our room every day, we had to request this in the end and they came 4 hours after the time we suggested so we ended up being in their way in the room, but this wasn’t so much of a bother for us and the standard of cleaning was immaculate. The only other thing was the lack of air conditioning so the room was rather stuffy, but they had provided 2 fans in the room so it was comfortable enough to sleep.

Had an amazing stay with my gf to celebrate our anniversary. Staff couldn't be more accommodating, whether it was sorting a parking space at arrival or prolonging the checkout by a few hours given our specific travel plans - all really went above and beyond. Room was excellent, with us particularly enjoying the long soak in the welcoming bath. We also took advantage of the Spa treatment (would recommend booking in advance) as well as the on site restaurant and bar - all were exceptional. Location was another bonus as well as the overall deco of the hotel. Highly recommended hotel and weekend experience!

Nothing at all, fab experience!

Simply one of the best hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. There were a few maintenance issues but they were dealt with excellently and resolved fully and didn’t detract from our stay. This is how I judge a very good hotel on how they out things right when inevitably at some point with any guest they can go slightly off. The suites are beyond exceptional. As is the food service. The staff are a cut above in all departments, you truly feel you are in a 6 star hotel. I will always return and have done many times. And I look forward to the next stay. Nothing to fault here I have only exceptional praise. Anyone can book with confidence and have the most relaxing stay. The bed and bathrooms and lounges are pure comfort.
