Comfortable clean bed. Food was plentiful and a large variety even catered for my son who has developed coeliac. Listened to his requests and were very obliging. Drinks well priced and a vast selection.

We had the room number 1 right by the door for the corridor to all the bedrooms. If it's busy the door noise from the other guests could be irritating........because the keeping quiet whilst others are sleeping didn't apply to the clientele on our night. Not the hotels fault just ignorant guests and onto the morning where the noise from early workers was no better. All in all still a great place to stay. Maybe a sign for the other guests to be mindful that not everyone has to be up at 0630.

I have never stayed in a Green Kings hotel before and was very pleased. The location was excellent and in a quiet area, the food was wonderful too and the staff very helpful. I needed to leave my car whilst I travelled on business with a colleague and there were no problems with doing this, other establishments would have charged me for the parking.

I am afraid that room 28 has a mattress that dips in the middle and the springs dug into me.....it either needs flipping over or replacing as I had a terrible nights sleep. Although everything else during my stay was great.

The reception, cleaners and restaurant staff were all excellent, helpful and cheerful. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious.

The bed heads are a poor design and need changing. The fake leather has peeled in lots of places. They are too low, so that if you sit up in bed your head is on the wall. This has led to a grease mark along the wall left by many visitor's heads! It spoils the whole effect of the cleanliness of the room. Otherwise, everything was clean. I would have liked one more face towel and more tea bags and milk by the kettle. But these are minor points

most things. Really no bad criticism. However, I wish Id have booked earlier to make sure I had a free standing shower rather than one over the bath, due to my handicapped hip.

a bit better planning of the menu. For long stays it became very boring. I needed a nice cottage pie or liver and onions with good fresh veg. The mashed potato was disgusting - more like wall paper paste. Needed more options for lunch -sandwiches, ploughmans, etc. It would have been better if you could order food/drink from your room. You could place your order at the bar and they would deliver - but that defeats the objective of room service.

Great locations, friendly stuff and very good value for money. Breakfast is outstanding and the bar stuff go above and beyond to cater for your needs.

I loved my stay very much ITVs just a heads up for people that might be light sleepers that the bar is right next to the hotel and there might be nights with entertainment. It didn’t bother me one bit, I actually enjoyed it but if you are a light sleeper or go with children don’t be surprised by a random karaoke night.

The room was large enough to spread out in, with a chair, sofa and desk. Bathroom was OK. Restaurant was easily accessible from.the hotel through a short corridor. The lady on reception was helpful when I asked for an extra face towel.

At night the room was too hot even though the outside temperature was around freezing, others in our party also mentioned this, so it's not just me. There were two bath towels but only one face towel, sorted by asking at reception. Maybe just an oversight. Food was ok but not exceptional. Limited vegetarian options. We went for a family celebration and I was hoping for better.

Stayed on a Weekend Solo visit , I know the area very well living in Reading originally, trip up from Kent. The hotel is easy to find on the A4 , had a very enjoyable stay a nice welcome on arrival . The room was excellent & spotless very well presented ( a credit to your housekeeping team there) couldn't fault it. Bed was comfortable & pillows great, a good selection of TV Channels & Wi-Fi. I will be a returning customer soon.The restuarant was reasonable priced & good meal deals on through the week . My meal there was good. See you back there soon,Keep up the Great Work.. (5* Star)

The cost per room is low and in what is a generally expensive part of the country, I was uncertain about what to expect. I was delighted to find the Wee Waif offers excellent value for money, all the facilities you could want, great staff, and a comfortable stay. It’s a bargain for what you get for the price. I’d recommend it to anyone seeking a quality budget hotel room. Very refreshing to experience.

Some of our friends were bothered by noise from the road, we were not however. It depends on which side of the property you are on. Breakfast options were limited if you wanted something healthy.

Excellent and plentiful choice of breakfast items and the full english was great. Bed was very comfortable with crisp, clean duvets. Good selection of tea and coffee available

Rooms were very hot but after the recent spell of weather we couldn't complain. The bathroom was a little 'tired', the toilet seat was loose and did not fit properly. Apart from that the room was clean and comfortable with a good selection of tea and coffee available.

Staff are very friendly, polite and available when needed. Any requests were dealt with quickly. Food and drink at the pub is good. I specifically chose the Green King for price and quality. I dont have loads of money and this place fitted with budget perfectly. Considering it was a busy pub, there was no noise at night and easy to relax. Food and drink in the room from the pub is allowed too.

Carpet had been worn completely away near bathroom door (not really a problem, but could be easily rectified.) Hair Dryer and TV had expired PAT tests, again not really an issue but hair dryer made a funny noise. When the curtain was open you could see directly into the room. Maybe a one way tint on the glass so you don't have to keep opening and closing the curtain.
