The Emmbrook Inn Hotel

Nice little pub with rooms next door. Very friendly staff, good food and range of beers. Lots of Chinese/Thai food on the menu (the chef obviously excels at this cuisine - saw other people's food and it looked great!) but also normal pub grub like burgers, pie, fish and chips etc too, so enough to cater for most tastes. Room clean and spacious.

Bed was a bit soft for me so didn't sleep that well, but that's personal preference. Wi-Fi was OK but signal was a bit weak where my room was so I ended up using my mobile phone as a wi-fi hotspot instead.

Our second visit. Having family in the area we have stayed at all of the local hotels (many vastly more expensive) but have found, for us, the Emmbrook to be the best by a long shot. Accommodation is clean, fresh and comfortable. The room was very quiet - no noisy boilers, pumps or plumbing systems, and very well appointed. The staff are absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming. From Rick, the landlord, Yanni (apologies if incorrect spelling), the restaurant manager, to each individual member of the bar and restaurant staff we were made to feel very comfortable. This wasn’t an off pat American style ‘Have a nice day’, these folk genuinely were intent on making every visitor’s stay as pleasant as they could. Food is also amazing! We’ll certainly be returning!

No problems whatsoever

A gorgeous little Pub in a residential area, a fabulous find ! Rick and his staff were brilliant, comfortable bed, right next to the Pub, food delious (Sunday roast amazing) and you must try their Thai cuisine. The locals so friendly, the weather was perfect to sit outside with a Pint or two :-) All areas of the pub and accommodation were spotless. A must stay if your in the Wokingham area even if its for the food & drinks !!!

This was a very nice place to stay. I received a great welcome from the staff and stayed in a clean, very spacious room. The room was great value for money and the whole set-up was very practical with free on-site parking, reliable wi-fi and the possibility of getting breakfast or other meals in the pub / restaurant.

It might help other guests to know that the bed was quite soft/springy. Very comfortable for me, but some prefer firmer mattress. The room wasn't noisy but some sound did carry through earlier in the evening. Otherwise great.

We ate our evening meal in the pub. Good choice of dishes. Friendly service and delicious food. A good sized portion and reasonably priced. Bed comfy and area quiet.

Toilet paper still in the pan and not flushed away. Lifted the toilet seat up had to wipe the rim. Dust still visible on the lamp standard and mirror edges. Marks on the duvet cover. T.V. aerial connector wires need replacing as TV channel kept dropping off .

Excellent value everything in the room you need. All clean with plenty of tea/coffee bottled water and nice toiletries. Very helpful staff squeezed us into the Thai Restaurant on a busy Friday eve - lovely food.

Bed was a little uncomfortable as a simple metal frame which made the bed shake every time someone moved and the mattress was a little lumpy - a simple padded or memory foam mattress topper would help. Our room wasn’t made up on the last day/night we stayed so we had to ask for more tea milk water etc but the manager/owner was very apologetic when we checked out.

Nice spot, clean and neat with everything we needed. We were only there for the night but I misread the checkin time like a pillock and they kindly rung to remind me. Thanks for helping us out there (sorry!).

No one in when we got up earlier than expected to have breakfast within the time stated. Probs because we had said 9:30 the evening before but hadn't realised we couldn't get there earlier if needed.

- Staff polite & helpful. - cosy atmosphere. - Next to Pub with pleasant outdoor seating area. - Room was basic but functional - Ample fee parking at rear of property. - Small fridge and fan in room. Very useful.

- Bed could have been a bit more comfortable. Mattress was a little springy. - Breakfast fair but could have been better. Toast served 5 min before breakfast arrived therefore cold when it came. - Bit noisy at pub closing time but not lasting for long.

Appeared to be a popular locals' pub, but no feeling of being separate - felt very welcome and as if nothing was too much trouble. Real ale range was excellent, well served and offered option of tasting before buying

There were a couple of minor faults with room, such as dripping tap - however, these were reported and we were thanked for raising them. I'm sure that if we'd stayed for longer than one night any issues raised would be addressed and rectified immediately.

The location was perfect as we were visiting family that live in Wokingham - parking for the car was great - the lady at the checkin was lovely and helpful

It took a day or so before we realised that we actually had to hang the sign “clean the room “ on the door before it was done. The hours at the bar was quite erratic so we weren’t always sure if we could have a drink at night - but the place was short staffed which was fine as it was post Covid
