Ty Derw Country House B&B0

My husband and I have traveled using Booking.com for over 10 years. This is the most extraordinary B&B we have stayed at yet! John and his wife converted their historic smithy/ stable into a well appointed, custom designed, cozy, comfortable B&B suite. Attention to detail extends beyond the craftsmanship of the kitchen and en suite bathroom to the lovely meats and cheeses which we found in the refrigerator. The inclusion of Welch cakes with jam and clotted cream was a special bonus. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. John told us about the 2 week window of Virginia Creeper red foliage and even drew us a detailed map using a scenic route to see one of the best examples less than an hour away! Location to walking trails as well as the historic towns of Ruthin, Chester and Llangollen was ideal. This B&B well deserves a 7 star rating or higher!!!

Beautiful location,. Property impeccable. The decor and furnishings are beautiful and the annexe has everything you will need. It is like a home from home. We were able to enjoy a lovely relaxing break. John and Michelle are readily available to assist and advise on places to visit or eat. Highly recommended and we will be returning soon .

John and Michelle the hosts were great. Breakfast was good, all we needed The fact it was a self contained little house instead of just a room was excellent Great value for money in comparison to other properties in the area

Shame there was no bath, missus likes a bath and no pictures of bathroom that I could see on the site to confirm prior to booking. Bit odd being asked to pack up our bedding in plastic bags but I guess during covid times anything is possible

Found by chance, Ty Derw Country House at Ruthin is a real secret tip. Lovely arranged flat, everything has it's place and is well thought out. Beautiful landscape, very quite surrounding. John and Michelle have been very attentive. Thank you very much, we fully enjoyed our stay and will gladly recommend to others.

Excellent location. Beautiful amazing area to walk and just enjoy the nature. Extremely comfortable accommodation. Caring and friendly owner. One of our best trips ever.

Absolutely nothing to complain about

All perfect! outstanding studio, very clean, the bed and the linen very comfortable. The host is very friendly, happy to assist in all enquires, and pays attention to details! Recommend to everyone, a fully equipped kitchen! The studio was made to a high standard including all equipment. The property exceeded our expectations! Good, location! very relaxing.

The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was of an extremely high standard. Everything was top class.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave at the end of our stay.

John and Michele are great hosts. It was more like staying in a one bedroomed cottage.than a studio. Spacious with a well equipped kitchen, high quality furnishings, very clean and lovely views. Everything we needed for a wonderful stay.

Well equipped annex in the heart of rural Wales. Perfect for a few days away with castles, walking & the coast all close by. Friendly & helpful owners making sure everything was perfect for our stay.
