The Blue Lion

Had a brilliant time staying at The Blue Lion. Was made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. I was a bit dissapointed that there was no food on in the pub for another week whilst doing a menu update and changing chefs so had to go to the next village to eat. The room was lovely, you could smell the fresh clean linen as soon as you walked into the room. The room was modern and clean with nice decor as was the bathroom with a great shower. The pub itself was great with all the locals really welcoming and friendly. We had people buying us drinks and having conversations with us, we wer even invited to a party. Absolutely lovely people, if you stay here you won't be dissapointed.

The room was very nicely presented and clean and warm as it was a cold January night. The bed was comfortable with good linen. Decent size TV. A comfy chair would have been nice but there was limited space. The breakfast was very basic - cereal, yogurt, limited thin bread (3 slices brown, 3 slices white), tea, coffee, juice and fruit - not my idea of a 'continental' breakfast but adequate for the price we paid. We had hoped to have an evening meal there but the kitchen was closed so we had to find somewhere else fairly local. Overall, a very pleasant stay for the price we paid.

Upon Arrival we were welcomed by very friendly staff but we ordered food before we visited the room due to the time we arrived. The food was great and didn't take too long to arrive. Price wise it was pretty much average but for what we ordered it was very fair. The breakfast was a continental breakfast (Toast, Yoghurt, Cereal, Pastries etc). Coffee machine was a great addition with a good variety to choose from. The room was better than expected, very comfy bed. En-suite was very clean and modern. And if you need evening entertainment the TV had built in streaming servive (Netflix, Prime). Overall I will certainly be going back in the future but this time stay for longer as I only stayed a night due to travelling the next day.

Only thing we found fault with was there wasn't a time given for the breakfast so had to just visit the restaurant. But it was probably my fault as i didn't ask :)

The Blue Lion was a modern comfortable room. It was located inside the pub so was hard to tell where to check in but once we figured it out the staff were really helpful and accommodating. The room was overlooking the patio where people were having meals and drinks so wasn't the quietest or private but we really enjoyed our stay and just had to keep the curtain pulled. Overall i enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

The room was not as private as I would have expected but was perfect for an over night stay. The room also had no air-conditioning so although it was warm and cosy could get a but hot at times. Also was unsure where you had to check in as you had to go through the bar to find someone to check you in.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and en suite were beautiful, clean and looked new. The room even smelled amazing. Lovely towels, toiletries and drink making facilities. Parking was handy. Breakfast was ready to help yourself despite our early starts with a nice selection. No noise from the pub downstairs and felt secure with a key code door to access the accommodation floor. Shop opposite came in useful. Oh and there is a tower fan, storage with hangers, ironing board and iron and a proper plug in hairdryer. We were very pleased with everything!

The staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival and the room was a good size with a comfy bed and a nice bathroom. The views in the village surrounding the pub were beautiful and it was a good pit-stop on our way home.

We couldn’t find a light switch or any bins in the breakfast room so it would have been helpful if these had been labelled since there weren’t any staff around during breakfast hours.

Wonderful little proper village pub, had a lovely welcome from the moment we arrived. The lovely young lady who runs the bar helped us with our bags & made sure everything was just so. Room was fabulous, nice bottles of water, drink tray, little bottles of soaps etc Nothing at all to fault. We had a very nice meal followed by an excellent night chatting & drinking with the locals who made us feel really welcome. Next time we will book a room with the spa bath jacuzzi 😁

Very little at all, if you pushed it a very minor point would be that it's a Continental Breakfast which wasn't very clear on Booking.com but it does say on the website.

Very clean and spacious accommodation. It had everything we needed. The local shop and pub are very handy, and the staff in each venue were fantastic.

It would help if there was more light in kitchen on a evening, and a lamp in the living room so you don’t have to have the bright lights on. We solved this ourselves by using lamps out of bedroom. It really is a little judgement, and it certainly didn’t detract from our stay x

We originally went for a camping break nearby on august Bank holiday and decided it was worth a re-visit. We went for a break for new year, it was an amazing, relaxing comfortable pub with different rooms to sit chat and eat/drink in. We had a sit down meal which was exceptional. There was continental breakfast in the morning with everything you could wish for. The staff and management were all really friendly and very attentive throughout and the room was immaculate with attention to detail for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend and will definitely be back there again this year.

No negatives at all

The room was excellent, clean and modern with great facilities. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate was provided along with a smart TV. The pub itself is lovely and was buzzing with locals on the Saturday evening. I had a meal in the restaurant which was lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The continental breakfast had something for everyone!
