Lovely room - very clean and bright. Breakfast was lovely and I liked that there were a lot of local products used in the making. Good location and easy parking. The garden was lovely to wander around!

I would have liked conditioner available to use in the shower, but completely understand why it wasn't! The shampoo/bath soap combination was fine to use and conditioner is just something I would have liked but definitely did not need for such a short stay!

the property is very clean and well equipped with everything, it’s very relaxing area to be in. Katherine is very nice person who would take care of everything.

Reaching out to the facility wasn’t very easy to me, I was following the gps and it took me through a very narrow road. I lost signal just before the property and couldn’t find any signs easily. but this could be just me visiting UK for the first time and not being familiar with the roads.

The Old Rectory is a lovely characterful building in a rural location. There is a separate cottage part and then the main building where we stayed as a family of three in adjoining rooms with shared bathroom/shower, toilet. The rooms were beautifully appointed and immaculately clean, beds very comfortable, and tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and water were replenished daily. Spare pillows were provided in the wardrobe, and our teenage daughter loved having her own space. The dining room where we took breakfast had a lovely sunny front facing aspect and had just been tastefully redecorated. Breakfasts were freshly cooked to order as well as fruits, yogurts, cereals, and our favourite - Catherine’s home made Seville orange marmalade. We were able to borrow an ironing board and the hosts were happy for us to bring back a takeaway meal to eat in the dining room. There was an area in the garden where we could sit and take in the views, or have lunch etc. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, helpful at all times, but discreet and unobtrusive. We really felt most welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful which was delightful and much needed. It was ideally situated for visiting various places including Betws-y-Coed, Llandudno, Conwy, Snowdonia National Park etc, and Ruthin which is a short drive away has restaurants, shops, pubs, supermarket etc.

There was nothing we did not like about it. It has an excellent reputation deservedly and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, being likely to return ourselves at some point.

Really lovely B&B with a very welcoming and friendly host. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Comfortable warm and clean bed, hot shower, very nice breakfast options (including cooked breakfast as an option - which was not what I was expecting initially). You would definitely need a car to get here, but otherwise the location is lovely. Quiet and very peaceful with a beautiful outdoor gardens to enjoy if the weather is good.

Tiny bit off the beaten track, but we like that. Probably would have been nice if mobile number had been provided just because we didn't see much of the host whilst there, only during breakfast. Sometimes we had questions that we wanted to ask, but weren't sure how to communicate, so did so through the app... but WhatsApp would have been easier for sure :) But even though so, we got a great quick response.

Fabulous B&B. Tranquil location. Catherine gave us a very warm welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The bed was very comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. The cooked breakfast delicious. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay. Thank you again Catherine.

Nothing at all to dislike.

Really ideal location, not far from Ruthin town which has some lovely restaurants and cafes. Room was comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. Host was friendly and helpful despite our issues with traveling to the location.

Perhaps the option for fruit/cereal to be brought to the room for a late breakfast.

The Old Rectory is a haven: very well restored and maintained period house surrounded by beautiful nature. Catherine was a great host, very welcoming, discreet and attentive. She talked with us about the area in a friendly and informative way and she cooked us lovely breakfasts on both mornings. Would definitely recommend.

Owner Catherine is terrific: very welcoming, always willing to help and an excellent cook. I had dinner at The Old Rectory and it was delicious - perfectly cooked, excellent fresh ingredients, healthy and with good portions. I would thoroughly recommend

Water pressure of shower was adequate for a shower but would not have been ideal for washing my hair (which I did not do).
