Lovely old pub/wine bar with lovely charm and character. We had a suite with was large and comfortable. Plenty of sockets, 2 x TV, separate area to dress and lounge with a fridge and coffee and tea facilities. There is music from nearby pub but it finishes at 11pm and we slept well. Outdoor seating to have a drink at the wine bar which served food. We ate there in the evening and had a delicious meal and was good value with a great atmosphere.

Parking is tight and you can't reserve it. To be fair though I would say parking in general is limited in Llangollen but there are public car parks nearby at £3.50 a day.

Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food. Flexibility of breakfast vouchers was a very good idea. Lots of activities in the bar. (If you want to go to bed early, this may not be the place for you as the bar is very lively with lots going on most nights. This didn't bother us, and we hope to go back some day for boardgame night!)

Because it is an old building, you can hear people in adjacent rooms walking around/flushing the toilet/etc. Also, some street noise of a weekend late evening. This is not the hotel's fault and didn't impact on our stay very much.

Great location.

Sorry to say -Non existent communication with ourselves and staff. Due to a wedding I tried to forewarn the hotel of our and our friends of our very late check in but it appeared that despite my 2 emails, a telephone call and talking to a young member of staff during the early suitcase drop off no one were instructed of our late arrival.Despite the door being unlocked and our cases appearing to have been left by the entrance all day we and the staff had been instructed of our late arrival After major panics a very helpful staff member in the nearby restaurant came to our rescue who eventually managed to provide us with keys.

The location is excellent, right in the centre. There is very limited parking but we parked on the street almost opposite with no problem. The room (No5) was huge and decorated in keeping with the building's age and style. The bed was very comfortable and there was a large TV on the wall. The bathroom was also large with jet bath and separate shower. (I cannot comment about these or the hot water as we didn't have the opportunity to use them unfortunately). The centuries old building has been sensitively updated and the wood panelled wine bar is really cosy. We had an excellent breakfast and good coffee. The staff are lovely too.

Just a couple of minor things which might bother some people. As the room was above the wine bar, there was some noise until closing (though not loud). There was some creaking and footsteps from some very early leavers on the floor above. The toilet seat was a bit wobbly (fixed by my husband!) and there was a bulb out on one of the bedside lights - but these are minor niggles and we really enjoyed our stay.

The room was comfortable, warm and big. The bathroom was big and there was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits etc. Bedding was very clean and fresh. Bed was very comfortable. The room also had two large, easy chairs so that you do not need to sit on the bed watching tv. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and informative about the local area. The quality of breakfast was excellent and a nice choice. It would be nice to have some cereal choices for a lighter breakfast.

Would have liked a couple of clothing hooks in the bathroom. Water pressure for the sink was very low. The pull chords for shower and bathroom light were missing the plastic knobs. No lock on the bathroom door which may bother some people.

The breakfast at Gale's was truly wonderful. Small but thoughtfully designed menu and truly excellent for taste, quality and value. Always delivered with a smile by the lovely hostess Hester. We enjoyed our stay at Gale's very much. The beds are super comfy and the rooms all have character.

The rooms tended to have something (small) wrong with them, a doorknob or sink plug that didn't work. Different standards of TV (all flat screen but some with apps/internet TV and others not). Very small car park but still nice to have parking as an option.

we stayed in the cottage rather than the hotel and boy were we very pleasantly surprised! we were unable to find any internal pictures of the cottage, so were unsure what to expect upon arrival, but this fabulous cottage by far exceeded our expectations. Everything you could need for a weekend away and the place felt massive. Lovely comfy sofas, large flat screen TVs in most rooms and bags of character throughout. Highly recommended! We will be back! A*****

The parking situation is a little on the tight side, but we managed, with a little to and froing.

Had a great stay at Gales for one night. A contemporary building with a unique style inside and a wonderfully decorated room, with a great amount of space and amenities available for two of us. The staff in the wine bar downstairs were super helpful and lovely to chat to - the wine was also great! Breakfast in the morning was delicious too! The property is located just off the main high street which makes it easy to get around to explore the area, and not too noisy at night. Everything made for a great stay!

Good location, room was nice and comfortable. We loved the food and the ambience around the whole establishment was cool. The staff were lovely, polite and helpful with all our small needs and requests, eg. some toiletries for the bathroom.

It did get a bit noisy towards the late evening and night, even after we shut all the windows and doors. Maybe double glazed windows would be good? Also, we didn’t have a curtain around our bath and shower cubicle didn’t have a shower head inside.

The staff were very friendly and everyone was willing to help with any questions nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very good and great value. The hotel was very close to the restaurants, shops and the centre of Llangollen including the railway and buses yet was on a quiet street which was great.

The room we had was very clean and had all amenities required but the bathroom floor requires refurbishing. Parking was tight but there was plenty of parking in Llangollen
