Playden Oast is an interesting building, and our room was good. The bed was really comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. A relaxing place to stay.

The shower could have been better, easier to manoeuvre (we found it difficult to do owing to positioning on shower slider bar) and a bigger head to allow more water through. Only one juice option at breakfast (same all e days) and despite being summer and lots of local strawberries on sale, there were none available with the fruit options at breakfast either... These were small things that would have made our stay excellent.

Check in was quick and easy. I liked that I was shown to my room. Room was clean and well presented. Plenty of tea & coffee etc. Ability to use a key drop facility on departure was good. Evening meal was fine. Breakfast was ok.

Wasn't a fan of only having a folding screen in the room to enclose the bath/shower and hand basin. Although there was a separate toilet, didn't like the fact that there was no accompanying hand basin. All hand washing had to be done in the washing facilities in the bedroom. Thought breakfast was too limited for the price.

Hotel was well positioned for Rye centre Friendly greeting on arrival Room was clean ,well furnished and decent size Good shower although whilst hose was loose at mains did not detract from decent pressure Room was very quiet Good breakfast and pleasant staff in morning

No 'good 'biscuits just the standard custard creams & bourbons Only full milk no semi skinned No decaff tea bags Small issue with cups which was resolved straight away Both toilet and shower room could have benefitted from a shelf or two. Bar was closed on our return at 20:00, bit disappointing.

This was such a fantastic place to stay. When we got in, everyone was expecting us. The staff could not have been lovelier! Everyone introduced themselves and made sure we were all booked in to eat dinner and knew about breakfast. We were taken up to our room, where they had turned the heat on in advance for us so we would be toasty when we got there as it was a cold and rainy night. The room was excellent, everything was clean and tidy and just so homey and comfy. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely and candlelit-and I really appreciated that they had vegetarian and vegan options. It's just a wonderfully historic and quirky place to stay that's being well maintained by people who love it- and we loved it too! It's my new favourite place and we are definitely planning another trip!

There is zero I didn't like. It was really excellent!

Location: Handy with a car -- about a mile into town. Parking free at the hotel, and not expensive at cattle market lot, near the train station in Rye, and free after 7 PM at most other lots. Great-looking oast towers on the hotel, containing round stone rooms for reception & dining. Generous and tasty Full English Breakfast included. Room and bed were clean & comfortable, but with odd separate shower room. Not far from Great Dixter -- a lovely and unique house, garden, and nursery.

Lovely small hotel in a central location for trips to Rye,Dungeness,Tenterden & Great Dixter Gardens. Easy to find, good parking & clean fresh rooms. The staff were happy to help.

The rooms in the annexe where we were could do with some attention to soundproofing as walls were very thin & we could here the people next door as much as I’m sure they could hear us. However it was reasonably priced and so nothing to raise an big issue over.

Lovely old building in a great location and clean. Easy check in and out with helpful staff. Food is reasonably priced and menu for evening was good. ( day time menu looked nice as well) Breakfast was included and very scrumptious. Lovely stay and we will be back.

Nothing the building is very old and they have kept the authentic parts of an old building and balanced it by keeping it clean and updated in colours and mod cons,

Loved the Oast house vibe but beyond that the pub is super with an excellent pint of Long Man Best Bitter in Superb condition on our visit Restaurant was good food was quick delicious & above pub food rate but that was reflected in the price Had a good sleep - wife loved the stand-alone bath me less so but room 3 is great if you're lucky enough to get it but again it's pricey at £149.50 per night Breakfast was above the mark full English well cooked to order, cereal & tea/coffee. Overall we had a great stay & really enjoyed it.

Staff on the bar seemed a tiny bit under trained.

Breakfast- We didn't take advantage of the "Full English" but that was only because we could not have eaten it all and would have been a waste!! Dinner- Not required but we did have sandwiches and a large glass of wine. That seemed a little pricey but was enjoyed. Room- Was part of the "theme" I guess and was okay. But the bed needs replacing far to noisy!!

Now not sure how to place this but one person did the job of receptionist, bartender and waitress. the person coped well and assured us we would get their attention shortly but there were obvious delays. It is not my business but if I did return to this venue I would like to see this point "Improved"'

The building and setting was lovely. The room was good - clean, tidy and well decorated. We had a lovely evening meal - good food and great service. The cooked breakfast was good for me but not for my wife.

The room was not very private as it was on the ground floor right by the the entrances and cleaning cupboard so we had to keep drawing the curtains when we wanted to change clothes. My wife would prefer a continental option for breakfast.
