Harrow Lodge Hotel

We were surprised that the Hotel was only a 2 star and would have easily rated it a 3. Our room was clean and bright with ample tea and coffee supplies. A lovely shower room with soaps and shower gels soft towels. Hairdryer and fan and ample hanging and storage for clothes. The variety of breakfasts was amazing and freshly cooked even 3 types of bread. The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. Food in the restaurant was lovely so if the weather was too bad you had everything you needed on site.

Our bed was a double which was 2 singles pushed together which gave the feeling of a hump in the middle son you couldn't really lay together and was painfully soft.

Our stay at Harrow Lodge hotel was truly amazing. The room with a balcony provided a fantastic view of the sea to wake up to each morning. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The food menu offered a wide variety, and the bar was a lovely spot for drinks with stunning sea views. The location in Shanklin was absolutely perfect, with easy access to the beach via the beach lift and the Chine within walking distance, which was especially enchanting at night. The hotel's exceptional dog-friendly approach made our furry companions feel like royalty. With daily room cleaning and readily available fresh towels, the service was impeccable. We are definitely looking forward to returning. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Harrow Lodge team for their hard work in maintaining this wonderful hotel experience for all of us.

We have walked past Harrow Lodge many times when we have been over on previous visits to the island, so knew it was an ideal location for where would like to stay. Close to the Cliff Lift, the path down to the front, a short walk to the Old Village and onto the High Street. The breakfast was cooked fresh each morning, and staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was impeccably clean, with a small fan provided (which was definitely needed during our visit as it was fantastic weather!) There is ample parking for those staying at the hotel. Even though the hotel was full, there was always a parking space available.

We really enjoyed our break .. was very much needed! The staff couldn't do enough for you! Breakfast was lovely .. full English .. tea/coffee .. toast .. honey/ jams .. fruit .. orange/apple juice .. gluten free options .. thank you for toasting my husband's crumpets .. ate once for lunch and once for dinner both nice meals .. my boys claimed a balcony that led from the bar and not far from our room .. no. 15 .. our room was spacious .. clean and just what we needed .. slept well .. was quiet .. the lift to the beach is on your doorstep .. walking to the beach isn't long at all both ways from the hotel .. Shanklin Chine not far at all .. old town just up the road and the main town the opposite way .. needed the chemist while we were there .. The Views are picture perfect! Could of sat there all day and watched the world go by .. really handy that there's parking around the hotel for free .. Thank you Harrow Lodge for a lovely stay with you x

Shower had a mind of its own Toilet quite loud But both didn't bother us really .. just wanted to post a true review Thank you very much x

Stayed in room 2 with amazing sea view and balcony...The hotel is lovely and clean.... the room was cleaned every day.... the only negative I had was the shower needed fixing and was attended to immediately but runs quite slow and not very hot .... could do with a nice power shower and would have rated it 10..... The staff are so friendly .... especially Lisa.... The food is obviously locally sourced because it's amazing.... Can't fault this place and will definitely stay again when I next visit my family on Isle of Wight.

This was probably the best hotel experience we have ever had. It felt more like we were staying with 'family' due to the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to make our stay as pleasant and stress free as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our 40th Wedding Anniversary special on arrival. They are truly dog friendly and spoilt our Shih Tzu, Gizmo, at every opportunity.

Better means to cool the room in hot weather

The hotel is wonderful! It was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea, and many an hour was spent watching the ocean. The bed was comfy and the linen was spotless. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely team at the hotel... Gina, Stephanie, Rob, the chef, and everyone else were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked; the fish and chips were gorgeous, and the homemade vegetable soup was delicious! We're already looking forward to our next stay, and would absolutely recommend this hotel.

There were only a couple of tiny things. Understandably, as the weather was lovely and warm, the radiators in the room weren't on... however, there were also no towel rails or hooks in the bathroom and so nowhere to dry towels after our showers. We didn't like to swop our towels each day for new ones - we managed but it wasn't ideal. The specials menu wasn't as extensive as it was on our previous visit, which was a little disappointing. However, it was understandable as we stayed in the last week of the season!

Breakfast was really, really good. Large selection of cereals and fruit juices, unlimited toast and a full English to die for. You wanted for nothing with these breakfast facilities. The view to to front of the hotel overlooked the sea. A wonderful view.

Room was a bit dark and the view perhaps could have been better but it was warm and cosy. The weather could have treated us a little more friendly but you don't go there for the weather in October.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and adequate but could have been a bit larger.

The size of the room meant that the TV had to be on top of the wardrobe, which was a bit disconcerting. The heating was only available at specific times which did not necessarily meet with being available at appropriate times such as early morning / late at night. The size of the washbasin was very small making it impractical for albeit a quick splash.

The hotel is on the cliff top overlooking Shanklin beach ( we didn't have a sea view but didn't pay extra for one). Brilliant breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable beds and nicely decorated, though compact room. There's a bar and tearooms at the hotel and evening meals available. We had already eaten but the food smelt good!

I did have problems using the shower which decided to suddenly go so hot I had to get out before I had properly finished.
