Overall this is a great little hotel. Great staff, fantastic location and the breakfast lovely. Also the food in the Horizon Restaurant was top notch. Well presented and very tasty.

The noise on our second night! There was a function downstairs in the restaurant and the DJ was set up right under our room. For 6 hours the music was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves think let alone talk. I complained at 9pm but nothing happened till 10pm. They need to rethink how they can do events and minimise disruption to paying guests.

Very friendly staff and accommodating. As many people say in the reviews it is worth asking specifically for a room with sea view or we have been to the left side facing the outdoor pool that is currently not in use. Once it is in use I can imagine it gets a bit more noisy on that side but it was fairly quiet during our stay. The size of the room was also fairly small for a double room but had everything you need. You do hear your neighbours a bit through the walls sometimes. Shower had a few issues while using other water tabs on the sink you got once or twice a hot water shock. There is an indoor pool which is a great extra to go for a swim in-between and the hotel is situated in a very nice location with a walking path right behind leading down also to the beach where you find more restaurants and activities. Breakfast was superb quality and again been made very welcome alao with our dogs in the conservatory. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Small minus point was the one time we planned to go for dinner there was all tables fully booked so we could not get a table, had to get a takeaway. I would have expected to be able to eat in the hotel without making a reservation or that it would have been pointed out to us that we had to. There was also in the end confusion with the payment going through on the first day and charged twice but refund got arranged without complications - so sorted out.

Staff were amazing, pool was good and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Loved the dog who was meeting and greeting us.

Walls are a little thin, we weren't able to sleep because of upstairs people who were up until 00:20 and decided to run around the room. Not really the hotels fault.

Recently refurbished, staff warm, friendly and welcoming. Felt as though you were looked after; a home from home.

If I was being picky (and I’m not) the bedroom we were in felt like it could do with a refurb. But it wasn’t horrible.

Being a former travel company owner, as you can imagine, I’ve stayed in many a hotel. I’m pleased to say I found this gem in the hotel row of Shanklin. The first thing that hits you is the cleanness of the hotel from the exterior to the inside. The friendly atmosphere that’s right from the reception. Once checked in, something happens that you don’t find in many hotels these days. The receptionist shows you to your room—what a refreshing change. A large sitting area with a bar overlooks the English Channel, where you can watch ships sailing past. A huge garden is situated at the front of the property, with plenty of seating to wallow away a sunny afternoon sipping on a cold beer from the bar. With direct access to the Clift footpath that passes in front of the hotel. You will find the first of two swimming pools tucked away in the corner of the garden. This large outdoor pool has chairs and loungers surrounding the enticing blue water. The other pool is inside the hotel and is big for a hotel indoor pool. The room (31) was large, with a double and a single bed covered in clean, fresh quilts. There is plenty of storage space for all your clothes with more hanging room than I’ve seen in a hotel in a long time. An ample-size flat-screen TV hangs from the wall in the corner above the brew-making facilities. Unlike most hotels, this one comes with more tea and coffee than you would need, unlike most hotels that limit you to two sachets of coffee. Breakfast is served from 08:00 and the customer excellence continues. After the usual routine of giving your room number, you are shown to a table by a member of staff who takes your drinks order and brings this to you. Again, unlike many hotels, this is brought to you rather than getting your own from a machine. Breakfast is served fresh from the kitchen.

Only a few small issues, There is no plug near the bed for charging your mobile phone. The wallpaper is starting to come away from the walls. probably not a good idea to have a boiling kettle under all the electric for the TV.

What a lovely little hotel!! We were slightly anxious ahead of our stay due to some negative previous comments, but honestly our fears disappeared as soon as we arrived and were welcomed into the hotel It's true what they say...you get what you pay for. It is a very comfortable 3* hotel made even better by the friendly staff - Joe in the bar, the new general manager, the front of house staff and the breakfast team. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and variety in the continental section, and a delicious cooked breakfast made to order and served quite swiftly. The daily swim in the heated indoor pool was an absolute bonus!

The hotel is a little outdated, especially upstairs and in the bedrooms - the downstairs looked relatively newly refurbished but we did hear that rooms are being redone imminently. King-size beds as standard would be better in all rooms if possible, however the room was clean and comfortable!

The hotel's staff was awesome. They were always willing to help and suggest things when asked. The breakfast was really nice and they offer choices of either buffet or cooked breakfast. Our kids enjoyed using the swimming pool as well. The location of the hotel is also very good with nice access to the beach, although it can be a bit steep for someone there are options to take the lift (paid and not operated by the hotel) as well so should not be an issue.

I was with my family when we stayed and at the time unfortunately they didn't serve dinner (not sure about lunch) so we had to go somewhere else to eat dinner. Although to be fair the hotel staff did suggest other places and also they said if we'd like to order delivery or takeaway, we're more than welcome to use the lounge or any place in the hotel to eat so points on them for being very flexible.

The staff where all lovely and friendly. The welcome and helpfulness I received. Lovely garden with great views and the location was great. It has an indoor pool and outdoor pool. The rooms were fresh and clean and had everything you could need there was even a mini fridge in my seaview room.

No bar staff during the day (but this I expect will change towards the summer months). The people on the front desk also do the bar. So quite a bit of waiting during the day if you want a drink. I was fine with it as they are busy and can’t be in 2 places at once. Just a bit annoying.

The hotel was perfect and had everything we needed. The staff were all lovely, especially Sharon at breakfast she was always so happy and went above and beyond, making sure we had a lovely breakfast.her customer service was excellent. The pool was nice and relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel receptionist 's were all very nice, and the bar staff were so nice my partner could barely pull himself away.

Could have done with a few more teabags in the room., and it would be nice to have had the option to come back to the hotel in the evening and have food there.Even if it was only sandwiches, panninis, toasties, cheese platter or a cream tea option we would have stayed in the hotel rather than go out .
