Staff and owners were very welcoming and friendly. New owners just taken over. Bar area newly refurbished to a very high standard. Owners on site serving customers and greeting them. Rooms were a little tired but very clean and comfy. New Owners well aware of this. Breakfast was lovely and the out door heated pool very nice added bonus for my daughter. Location was very good. We will definitely be returning soon.

My daughter cut her feet in a few places as did I on the bottom of the pool. Not a major issue as when speaking to the owner at the bar he said the pool is the next big project and was well aware the pool was old. Pool very clean and nice with lounge chairs around. You could clearly see they had recently painted the pool area. Please dont let this put anyone off was lovely to get back and have a dip in the pool and have a nice chilled beer.

Delicious breakfasts, good choice. Continental and full English available. Staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming of my dog, which other guests commented on. Very close to the sea front, and a good area of grass for the dog. A big park called The Mead is within walking distance. Not too much parking available on site, but parking available on all the roads nearby, and staff helped me with luggage to the car.

I have no complaints at all, and I look forward to returning to the hotel.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, clean bedroom and bathroom. Lovely white towels and room very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities in room were great. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe and drawer space. Decor in room a bit dated but overall we had no complaints. Breakfast was beautiful.

The decor in our bedroom was a bit dated, but it didn't worry us. We did find our 2 drinks at the bar expensive, but we are used to club prices.

Cleaners didn't visit all weekend. It would have been nice for them just to pop their heads in, straighten the beds, and replenish the shower gel, tea/coffee. Breakfast was good but seemed stressful for the staff. Maybe if guests could self-serve their drinks, this would take the pressure off the hard-working staff?

The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming and the staff was excellent. Everybody was so kind and helpful. The new owners had just opened the hotel a couple weeks before we arrived and the upgrades they had done were exquisite, a beautiful mix, new yet still with the British old charm. Beautiful breakfast menu, home cooked and delicious.

Exceptional welcome and helpfulness from all staff. Appreciated their efforts to assure our fabulous stay ran smoothly. Relaxing, friendly atmosphere added to the hotel owner's passion for excellence led to us wanting to stay longer. Room was very clean, comfortable spacious bed, coffee and tea-making facilities refreshed daily. Swimming pool was clean and refreshing after a sunbathing spell on the beds and chairs provided. The bar was well stocked with a wide variety of recognisable and top brands at good value prices. We will be returning for another visit, guaranteed.

Knowing the owner's plans for continued development coupled with the new refurbishment of bar area and pool, it is just a matter of time before rest of hotel meeting their high standards and clear vision. Car parking was the only limiting factor but plans are in place for improvement.

Simon and his family were the perfect hosts,service was fantastic and an excellent location to explore the island from.

Absolutely brilliant stay at the Queensmead. The family that run it are lovely and cannot do enough to help you. You can clearly see that they are updating the hotel having recently opened, and although the rooms are a little dated they are clean and comfortable. The owners gave us a space downstairs to store our pushchair and went over an above trying to help me out of the car park when I got trapped in by other guests The breakfast is lovely and really good value for money. The pool is nice and clean, and warmer than the sea. And the location is really handy for access to the old town and the sea.

Might recommend adding some information in the rooms about breakfast times, pool opening times etc. But as they have only recently opened it’s understandable this might be under development.

Fantastic breakfast and great hosts. Bar was perfect for a night cap.
