Martlets B&B0

Could not fault Martlets at all. It looks great when you arrive and is just as lovely inside. We had a fantastic welcome from Jill (& Jonty & Jess!), who made us feel really welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was beautifully done out and exceptionally comfortable with a lovely en suite. Plenty of choice for breakfast, cereal, fruit, yogurt and the very tasty cooked to order. Plentiful tea or coffee and toast. We found it quiet and relaxing......just what we needed. Location is far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to get into town on foot. Jill is so helpful too with recommendations of places to visit. Even before our trip she sent us a list of places to eat so we could book in advance, all the places we tried were worth it. Thanks Jill for a fab holiday.

Martlets is such a beautiful house. Jill could not enough for us. From breakfast in her beautiful garden to giving us a run down of the best restaurants and things to do on the island. Our room was lovely and had Wi-Fi along with Netflix and Amazon Prime. We never really watched the TV as we were busy exploring the island. The house is situated of the main road with ample parking space.

The walk into Shanklin Village got a bit tiring after 5/6 days but we are not seasoned walkers. Coming off the main road late at night can be a bit dark if walking. A torch would come in handy.

We had a 3 night stay on the IOW as a treat for my husband and I chose Martlets from reading some good reviews & I'm so pleased I did. Jill was the perfect host, always around if you needed anything but discreetly in the background if you just wanted to chill. Her freshly cooked breakfasts with good quality ingredients and a selection of cold choices set us up for the day. Her 2 adorable dogs Jonty & Jess were just as welcoming and very well behaved. Martlets is very well located on the edge of Shanklin old village with walking distance to pubs, eateries, shops and the top entrance to Shanklin Chine. It is a beautiful comfortable modern home with stunning views. Our en-suite bedroom was very peaceful & comfortable and had everything we needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Martlets and would definitely stay there again. Thank you Jill, Jonty & Jess, we look forward to seeing you again.

There wasn’t anything not to like.

Jill was a fantastic host from the moment we arrived. We were made to feel at home in a relaxed atmosphere and it was lovely to be greeted by the family dogs everytime we came home. Our room was very comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. The location was perfect for touring the Island and Jill's knowledge and recommendations helped us make the most of our days. We were sent off each morning with a hearty breakfast which set us up for the day.

The breakfast was very good and nothing was too much trouble for the host . The house was in a great location just a few minutes walk into the Old Village and the famous Shanklin Chine. Parking was easy at the house and Jill the host was very friendly and accommodating. We has a regular supply of lovely biscuits in the room and milk and water and of course tea bags so we felt right at home. The house itself was beautiful and had lots of mod cons such as free WIFI TV's in the bedrooms with Netflix and other Apps. We really felt very comfortable and Jill the host was able to suggest places to visit and pubs and restaurants to eat ln which all turned out to be really special. Would definitely come back again.

Only a minor thing but we found the bedrooms a little too hot for us but I guess we could have asked Jill for them to be lowered in temperature.

It is a very stylish and comfortable B&B and the breakfast was excellent. Cooked to order, so nice and hot too. Nothing was too much trouble. Easy walk into Shanklin Village and beautiful view at the back of the house. Two small dogs live there, so probably better if you like friendly pups!

Cannot think of anything we didn’t like.

Very comfortable, great location - only a short (10-15 minute) walk to Old Shanklin Village with some great pubs & restaurants. Private on site parking, bedrooms are all en-suite with bath, separate shower and tea/coffee making facilities. Owner Jill is very friendly with a great sense of humour, and the two dogs (Jonty & Jess) are both good fun and like to welcome you home!

Nothing whatsoever!

Beautiful modern house, spotless high quality room. Jill is a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky with the weather and were able to have wonderful breakfasts on the patio in front of the terraced garden. We would fully endorse the previous excellent reviews.

We loved everything about our stay. Jill is a wonderful host and it felt like we had gone to stay with a friend. Her home is beautiful, spotless and so comfortable. We also fell in love with the impeccably behaved Jonty and Jessie. Jill was so helpful with recommending restaurants and places to visit and added so many special things to make our trip such a wonderful experience. We cannot recommend enough. Truly outstanding.

Saying goodbye and having to go home :-(

Th e hospitality of the host, Jill, was impeccable for the choice of breakfast items, the warmth and welcome received. It was very nice quiet place conveniently placed closed to the town, walking distance to many attractions.

I don't have anything to mention or complain about.
