Our room was clean and well maintained but very little space to put clothing away if staying for a week like we were. You really have to get on well with your partner as I'd describe the room as cosy! The bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and served by a very polite friendly staff member. It was well cooked although the portions were a little measured at times i.e. the fresh fruit starter! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Not enough shelf space for clothing if staying a week. The car park was a worry too there were 17 rooms but only about enough room for around 9 or 10 spaces so if you went out in the evening you had to worry about whether you got a space or not. If someone had a 4 x 4 then they took up more than their space.

What can I say about this wonderful property. Beautiful building, quaint rooms, and fabulous garden. Helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Just a short walk through the properties terraced garden turn left to the beach and right to the old village. Such a good location. When you get off the ferry get the train straight to Shanklin and bypass Ryde you wont be disappointed.

The room was on the top floor with lovely views over the garden & the sea beyond, it was a large room with two chairs, TV, tea making facility & a useful note pad & pen. The bed was huge & very comfortable, the on suite shower room was adequate.

The hair drier provided was poor & fiddly to use. The shower was very noisy & a little in need of maintenance (the rail felt like it might come off if you tried to adjust the shower head). The bath room door bumped constantly during the night if it was closed, I just left it ajar & it was fine but it took a while until I found the source of the bumping noise. No swimming pool.

Breakfast. Location, though the walk from the beach was up quite a hill! Comfy bed. Really clean. Lovely veranda for breakfast in the garden. Tea and coffee available all day. Lovely sitting room with games.

Parking was terrible. Good luck if you've anything bigger than a ford Ka and you're not skillful at parking on a postage stamp. The room was quite small with a view over a flat roof. Stairs up into the bathroom were a hazard when needing the loo in the night.

Had a lovely room on ground floor which, although was not the room we asked for was excellent with French doors leading out to a terrace .The beds and pillows were super comfy. There was tea and coffee in the room as well as in the dining room, available all day.The breakfast was delicious and hot food cooked to order. The lovely lady serving breakfast was the best, perfect at her job.

The ensuite was tiny but the house is old so nothing could be changed there.

I have overall enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was very good. The outside area was giving the place a special character, lots of green and some wild life coming to visit. With a good weather, I would choose a day at the hotel rather than walking around, I would like staying there for more than one day. The room I got was very nice and quiet. The reception lady was fun to talk to and made me want to stay longer. I would recommend the hotel.

Just some improvement might of made it perfect: The extension slightly longer so I could have the lamp and the kettle plugged in at all times and still plug a charger. There was an extra plug on the wall but it would of been just more convenient. The bed board seemed to be loose so when I sat upright I was making a noise as it banged against the wall. The chair had some permanent staining on the fabric. The toilet roll could of been slightly thicker. And lastly, I think a floor without the carpet is more hygienic as its a lot easier to clean properly. This things were not major I would still come back but improvements can always be done :)

Beautiful rooms and stunning grounds. There were lovely areas to sit outside during the day and evening where we were able to relax. A gate at the end of the garden was a short walk to the sea. Our hosts were wonderful and thoughtful, providing us with adjoining rooms for our parents and us on the ground floor and also they also added thoughtful additional touches to celebrate my parents birthdays. Thank you so much for making it a lovely and memorable stay for us all.

Nice, quiet homeley. Lovely garden although poor weather prevented us making full use of it. Lovely walk to beach. Excellent breakfast. Wendy, who served us, was very nice and efficient. Loved all the paintings around the hotel and in the room. General decor was good too. Nice comfortable lounge with chess set (set up), library and board games for evenings and rainy days.

Honesty bar was empty most times so no atmosphere and we didn't use it.

Beautiful building, lots of places to sit downstairs while our son slept safely in bed (with baby video monitor). All the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all so loving towards our toddler. The grounds are beautiful and it's near all the shops in the town centre as well as a 4 min drive from the beach or a 10-15 min walk to the beach. The breakfast was delicious, eggs made to perfection! Will definitely come back.

Rooms are a little small but it is a period property and the drawing room and the beautiful outdoors meant that you do not have to stay in your room the whole time.

Lovely room, very quiet, plenty of space, although the en-suite shower room is a bit small. Breakfast is excellent, plenty of variety in a spacious well-furnished dining room. There is also a big guest lounge to relax in and free tea/coffee/biscuits all day downstairs. An honesty bar also in reception is well-stocked. Nice toiletries in the room. The location is down a very quiet cul-de-sac so no traffic noise and there are pretty gardens at the back, although the garden is quite steep. Close to the main road in Shanklin with restaurants within easy walking distance. Very friendly people who run The Grange.

The only minor quibble is the size of the en-suite shower which was very snug. A bit more space in there and more shelving to put stuff would have been useful. But for a two-night stay it was perfectly acceptable.
