Large room great facilities in kitchen

Bathroom a bit grimy - disabled friendly but not very aesthetically pleasing. Staff aloof. All very young with no sense of urgency. Although polite.

Room size perfect for family of 4. Our kids 9 and 12 really enjoyed the loft! Loved the kitchenette, super easy to fix a quick egg breakfast after doing local grocery shopping. Very close to restaurants and shops and not too far of a walk from cruise pier. View of park from our 2nd story window. Very happy they had an elevator! Lovely amenities and staff!

Price a bit on the high. We did stay 1 night prior to our cruise during peak travel (summer).

Room was fantastic. Location of hotel was fantastic. Staff were very Friendly. Really appreciated upgrade for 2 beds - but was a shame I had to phone up to arrange after my email confirmation noted i may not get 2 beds - when booking.com let us book a twin room. Why sell twin rooms if you do not have them as standard?!

Didn't get a receipt for parking so had to ring en route to verify I'd booked it. Got a cancellation email through for a parking space after my visit with no explanation that was a little confusing. Was going to eat in the hotel on the first evening but the majority of food had sold out which was a little disappointing.

Excellent location, easy access to local bars and restaurants plus a short walk to town for shopping, close to IOW ferries terminal and cruise ship viewing also nearby. The room was well-equipped, and the bathroom was of good standard. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The mattress was a bit soft, you are offered a choice upon booking that I didn't take, we did request if a change may be possible after the 1st night but unfortunately none were available. Our bathroom basin didn't drain very well and the shower controls were very stiff to operate, Minor things in the scheme of it all really!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at room2 Southampton, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. This hotel has indeed left a lasting impression on me. First and foremost, the staff at room2 Southampton were incredibly welcoming and attentive. From the moment I stepped foot in the hotel, their warm smiles and helpful nature made me feel right at home. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests, ensuring that my stay was nothing short of perfect. The room I stayed in was simply outstanding. Not only was it beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, but it was also equipped with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The attention to detail was remarkable, and it was evident that the hotel took great care in providing a comfortable and luxurious experience for its guests. The bed was incredibly cozy, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep, and the cleanliness of the room was impeccable. One aspect of room2 Southampton that stood out to me was the unique concept of a "hometel." The blend of a hotel and the comforts of home was executed flawlessly. The fully equipped kitchenette in the room allowed me to prepare my own meals, and the cozy living area provided a relaxing space to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. It truly felt like a home away from home. Location-wise, room2 Southampton is situated in a prime spot. It's conveniently located near major attractions, most importantly the harbor, shops, and restaurants, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. Finally, I have to commend the hotel on its commitment to sustainability. Their eco-friendly initiatives, such as the use of renewable energy sources and the encouragement of recycling, align with my own values, and it was refreshing to see a hotel taking active steps toward a greener future.

The large towels where a bit rough. Cups could have been cleaner in the kitchen. Paid £34.00 (£17) eaxh for 1 piece of fruit each, 1 small bottle of fresh orange each, 1 very small pre packed pastry each, 1 tiny milk bottle each, (1 packet of fruit pastilles!! which my Husband got after going down to reception for a cereal that was missing from the bag of of brealfast and more milk) Definately wouldn't of stayed at this hotel if we knew that was how you got your breaxkfast in a bag outside your hotel room on the floor! There are better hotel options out there with a proper breakfast which we thought we had booked for with cold meats on offer from our checkin for breakfast and when we asked there were none amd only 1 Yorkshire Teabag each as they were running out of them.

Friendly staff throughout, funky design downstairs (awesome first impression), the free fresh milk blew us away (we hadn’t seen this before in other hotel stays and is much better than plastic UHT milk), kitchen with equipment for cooking meant we could stay in and have a home cooked meal and clean up ourselves, the wastage bins for recycling were a good touch knowing you can do your part. There were little added extras throughout like the tote bag to use, dishwasher was a huge bonus (I hate washing cups in the bathroom sink with no washing liquid in normal hotels!). Everything in the room felt like the hotel had really sat down and gone the extra mile in considering their guests needs throughout their stay, and how to accomodate a traveller so they truly can have the best stay, which is a huge cut above the majority of hotels out there. Normally don’t write reviews but this one’s worth it!

That we couldn’t stay longer!

This property, how it is run and the facilities are exceptional. Friendly helpful staff and great central location. The rooms had everything you needed for a short stay and they were spotlessly clean - I have stayed in alot of hotels/motels over the years and this was super clean, very impressed. I have Crohns so choose a room with cooking facilities, basic but had all you need - well thought out. Staff were very helpful and welcoming and very relaxed atmosphere. PLUS this was one of the most reasonable rooms I have found in Central Southampton. Great value for money. My next Southampton visit I intend to stay here and I have told my friends and family too.

Honestly I could not fault it. It had everything one would expect and more.

We chose room2Hometel for the proximity to the cruise terminal. We spent a night in Southampton prior to boarding our ship the following morning. Not only was it an easy 15 minute walk to the terminal, the hotel was in a lovely setting across from a park and there were several good restaurants within a short walk…a few on the marina with patio seating. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable complete with a kitchenette. The coffee shop off the lobby was delightful. The staff provided excellent service. Thus, it almost felt like a destination hotel.

This is a lovely hotel, in front of a nice park and just around the corner from Oxford Street, with its restaurants. Easy walk to the old part of town and the city centre. The staff were lovely and very efficient. We were upgraded to a very nice room, my teenage son was happy with his "berth" up a ladder and I slept very well in a very large and comfy bed. We had a dinner table and kitchen so had dinner in the room, everything we needed was provided.
