Harbour Hotel Southampton

Hotel is located right on the harbor. It's a very picturesque location with the marina right there. We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the cruise port. The front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming. While we were waiting for our room, we had an excellent seafood lunch at their first floor Jetty restaurant. Our room was fabulous, super comfortable bed and luxury linens. This is a gem -- wish we stayed longer.

Beautiful decor, staff were very helpful and polite, room was very clean and we had a note wishing us a happy anniversary with some chocolates from Lukasz and the team which was a lovely touch. The balcony room we stayed in included some binoculars which we made great use of! Lovely view of the harbour and ocean and could see some cruise ships in dock. Loved the bathroom and the toiletries included were great. Restaurant (HarBar lounge) was amazing, great food and very reasonable price. And the spa was very peaceful, really clean and very enjoyable overall

Room was nice - overlooking the marina restaurants and marina. Location was good for what we needed. Staff all seemed great, check in/check out was easy. The bar/restaurant on the top was a nice place to go for drinks/food.

The pool and area surrounding it was tiny for the size of hotel - there were no spare sun loungers to relax on around the pool or outside. The jacuzzi was boiling, way too hot to go in. It was the main reason we booked, but were not able to spend as long as we would have liked in there. For the price paid, it would have been good if breakfast was included.

Amazing view from the room, great balcony, binoculars provided in the room along with complimentary gin (nice touch), fantastic pillows and bed, receptionist was very friendly on arrival, best part of the spa is sun chairs outside if ur lucky and there’s good weather, I went in June so it was perfect

Restaurant food was good but slightly over flavoured in some and under flavoured in other dishes. 5 star hotels don’t normally stop their guests from using the spa right after checking out, surprised to see this is the rule here. Slippers and shower cap should be supplied in spa lockers. Spa receptionist needs to work on her manners.

Front of house & concierge team really excellent - Stefano the chief concierge on both my outbound and inbound stay (after a cruise) was exceptionally helpful, giving easily the best 'explanation' of the room & its facilities I have ever had - also remembering me from my stay 3 weeks earlier was gratifying. Room was immaculate. Breakfast offered a really good choice and was tasty. Amazing location - in the middle of Southampton's hip 'Ocean Village' with great views of the harbour. Spa looks fine but didn't try it.

Dinner was disappointing - starter of prawns not cleaned properly, a promised 'interlude' between courses not observed - communicate! - a glass of none-too-cheap wine was none-too-fresh. Rather heavy on seafood (OK I know it's by the sea...) so choice a bit restricted for fishphobics. Bed had comfortable mattress but ill-fitting duvet cover so too easy to get tangled up. Would be nice to have a complimentary minibar in a top-price suite. These are small niggles but hey....

It was exceptionally good, and worthy of the rating. The bed was luxurious and dreamy. Food, service, everything, extra mile and what we would expect of an establishment of this reputation. We will be returning customers as long as this place exists with the same level of service. Wonderful location, facilities, and nobody could have done more to help us.

Nothing much! The net curtains on the balcony were marked, which isn't anything that would bother us but worth a look at for a 5* hotel. We had one less than brilliant interaction with a member of staff, but to Harbour's credit, they immediately apologised and compensated us without us asking. Another sign of fabulous customer care.

staff was really friendly from arrival and happy to help. parking was easy and free! the room was spacious, bed was comfy and really big! Complimentary sherry and gin with two bottles of water, biscuits teas and coffee. Mini fridge was over all charge and a £50 refundable deposit was made on arrival for the mini fridge. Towels, robes, slippers was provided. Along with iron, ironing board and hair dryer. In the bathroom they had ear buds, cotton pads, face towels, towels, shower cap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Staff came in the evening to get the bedroom ready for the evening with getting our slippers out and pulling the bed back, lovely touch. Nice view of the harbour from our bedroom I’m pretty sure every room has these views. You don’t need a plug for a charger as it is free for you to put the lead into the wall unless you have a new iPhone charger like us. The bar bar was really delicious and responsible price with a good view. Spa was lovely with seating, towels, relaxation room with drinks, steam room and sauna and small hot tub area attached to pool.

We didn’t realise you have too put two car keys in the wall at the time for everything to work but we eventually figured out and same with using the shower. Our room temperature kept going up so not too sure if it was broken. Spa pool was a little cold but after a while in there it was okay.

The room was excellent and the bed extremely comfortable

Lacking duty of care during a fire alarm going off twice during the silent hours. Communication extremely poor. Only one member of staff left on duty on desk. Telephone system failed. It was evident that due to what was deemed a fire alarm going off on two occasions the desk was inundated with guests wanting answers. Management presence wanting . Complaints were made during the next morning and noted for investigation.

This is a really lovely hotel which lives up to its high ratings. Not exceptional, but of a high standard, the room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable (and high), everything was clean, near faultless. The Spa was nice too, though could do with more loungers by the pool. The HarBAR on the 6th Restaurant was great, lovely food, lots of atmosphere and a great view. Location of the hotel was also excellent.

Parking was a disappointment, created a fair degree of frustration upon arrival. Could just have been bad timing but no spaces anywhere. Hotel staff did rescue the situation letting me drop my car by the hotel entrance which they parked once a space had become available.

This was our first experience in a 5 star luxury hotel and it was absolutely amazing. We celebrated my birthday and if you ask for it, you can get rose petals and balloons decoration in your room. I also got chocolate and a birthday card from the hotel, thank you! The staff was very kind, polite and helpful. The breakfast was really good - you can choose a hot meal from the menu and then there was also a buffet section with everything, what you can imagine. The room was exactly like on the pictures. It was super clean, and the bed was the best, it's super soft! The spa is small, but lovely, with a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a relaxing room. They cleaned often and there was unlimited cold water (or hot tea in the relaxing room). The only issue was our room card not really worked - we could't get in our room, but the reception helped us in no time.

Except the card issue everything was good.
