We had two rooms and they were bright and good sizes. The rooms were clean and the en-suites were great. We were able to park and we discovered when we arrived that you can reserve a parking space in advance (there are only 5)

One room was on the first floor where the second was on an upper floor. the first floor room suffered the noise and smells from the pub below. the bed also had a duvet under the sheet which made for a very uncomfortable night’s sleep for my father.

Booked a one night stay as my son was having his graduation ceremony at St Mary’s Stadium. The hotel is in a good location, about 2.5 miles from Southampton Central station and the main city shopping centre. The young lady at reception (I didn’t get her name) was friendly and super helpful when I requested an iron and also a place to store my bag after check out. The room was basic but clean, modern and very good value for money. Nice soft double bed, new en-suite & shower, flatscreen tv and tea/coffee making facilities. Perfect for a one or two night stay.

The only two very minor issues were the shower mixer tap was a bit stiff so it took a while to adjust it to the right temperature. Also, the clock in my room ticked so loudly at night that I had to take the battery out until the morning! lol

Good location, close to a variety of food outlets and close to a lovely walk of the river. The room itself was a more of a bedsit, it was large with a kitchenette and shower/toilet. The bed was very comfortable and for a room with such high ceilings it was warm. The room was very clean.

Although very clean and comfortable, the property could do with a refurb as it is tatty in places. The front desk is not manned, it's more of a hostel set up. However, staff did come straight away when the Bell was rung and offered to help with luggage.

Greeted by a very smiley friendly and welcoming staff member when we checked in at 4.30 The rooms were very clean and tidy. The beds really really comfy and we had a great night's sleep! The bathrooms were beautifully decorated. There was plenty of tea and coffee etc but one addition would be for sweeteners.

The only downside was in room 9 the shower head was perched on the soap dish and when put it on the holder it would not stay upright and kept dropping down therefore it was not possible to use it properly. The lack of disabled parking was disappointing as was the entrance to the hotel which although there was a ramp it had a step up to the ramp then 2 steps at the end and a further step into the hotel reception area. I'm disabled and although not in a wheelchair I did feel it worth mentioning.

The room was bright, clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee in the room plus a tv. A small table and two chairs and sufficient hanging space and draw space. A lot of work has been done to bring the hotel to a good standard, but still room for improvement in time. The location is good for getting to the city and close to a nice park and Riverside walk. Plenty of little shops and cafés, but be sure to cross at the proper crossings as it's a busy road.

Unfortunately the ability to draw the curtains was not so good, they were difficult to slide. Extra hangers are needed. The cocktail bar below was very noisy on a Saturday night.

It was a nice quaint room. It was clean and quiet even though it was over a bar. The staff was friendly. The only thing was the stairs were long and steep, but the staff helped us get the big suitcases up stairs, so all was good.

Getting to the door you had to walk around the building and the cement and steps were old and broken in places, so it was hard pulling suitcases.

The room was extra spacious.....lovely and comfy bed ...also had a nice bathroom bit smaller then expected. The view from our bedroom wasn't great but can't complain as this was the last room available on the booking.com website at an affordable price. Carpets were clean and also there was a cupboard for clothes .A fridge was the extra to the room .Let us stay an extra hour after check out time.

There were no shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. Also towels were small size.

It was cheap and cheerful. Small room with the basic amenities and exactly how I expected. The bed linen and bathroom were clean and tidy. Nice little bit of storage space and smartTV on the wall.

Change the door locks to ones that have a slight lip/handle so you don’t have to slam the doors or try to use the key as a handle on the bedroom doors

The room was clean, spacious, and had the standard commodities (kettle, TV, on-suite). The staff were friendly and informative. There's pretty good walking paths in the area, and the Chinese opposite to the hotel is excellent.

The parking is limited and difficult to get into (most spaces are directly next to a busy main road).

This was a very comfortable room above a cocktail lounge (former pub). We had a nice view over the river. The room was great value and the location was perfect for us. Everything was clean and had been recently refurbished, including a shower room with a large shower enclosure.

There was a slightly odd smell in the bathroom and on the stairs - and we were at the top of several flights of stairs with no lift. There is traffic noise from busy roads on all sides. There is parking but only a few spaces so might fill up. The shower does not have a good place to place shampoo, glasses etc and does not include a handrail; the shower base did not have any sort of anti-slip features. No breakfast was available. Minor points really in what was a very comfortable good value stay.
