Amazing position - right on the harbour. We had the inland view apartment which was accessed via a flight of stairs. On the first level, there was an initial room with a large sofa bed. Beyond this there was a bathroom and the main bedroom which was lovely with a large TV on the wall. Up a steep staircase was the living area with kitchen, dining table, another sofabed and big TV on the wall again. We could see the harbour and sea through a side window which had a nice window seat. The shower was excellent. Overall the apartment was good and well equipped.

Although there was a washing machine, there wasn't an airer provided. The kitchen was lacking a chopping board to prepare/chop food. The upstairs was hot. The windows only opened a fraction but there were fans provided.

Location, location, location! Large room on the harbour front, so was expensive but worth it for for a few nights. Staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast with good choice of food. Decor / furniture in room was good.

Maintenance of room not proactive: Handbasin blocked when we checked in and took a couple of days to get plumber in to fix this. Cleanliness okay, but in these times of Covid it would be more reassuring to have spotless door handles etc. Windows in the room and in the pub/hotel not kept clean of bird droppings, which spoil the view, albeit we realise this is an ongoing chore!

The location of The Lifeboat on the harbour at St Ives is magical. The winter sunrise from our window was fantastic. The room was warm and cosy. It was very comfortable and quiet and the decor was very attractive. There were two good armchairs and the teas/coffees included real coffee! There was also a large modern bathroom. Breakfast was served in the pub and had a very good selection.

In fact, our room was really far too warm as the heating had thoughtfully been turned up to max. As the room was well insulated and the windows only opened partially, it took a while for the room to cool down to about 23C. Conversely, the radiator in the bathroom, didn't work - but by leaving the doors open, our surplus heat managed to heat it sufficiently! Also, the room was in a converted 'loft' and the stairs up were very steep and narrow, which was tricky with cases. Parking is in one of the carparks which are a distance away.

The location was amazing, right next door to some really good restaurants. The sea view room was definitely the right choice as the sunrises in the morning were spectacular. The rooms were extremely warm and comfortable, perfect for a winter getaway. The free continental breakfast had some great options and we felt that we didn’t even need to order the hot breakfast which cost a little extra.

There was a quiz night in the main bar which you could hear quite clearly through the floorboards which might bother some some grumpy guests, but it all adds to the vibrancy of St.Ives The parking situation is the only main downside but the fact that you are literally in the best location in town completely out weighs this.

We had room 4 on the 1st floor. King sized double with sea view for 2 nights in November. The room was nicely designed, spacious and cosy. The bed was very comfy. We were glad we chose this hotel and room. The Lifeboat is in an excellent location - right on the harbour front. All the staff were nice and helpful. The view from the bedroom was lovely, tide in or out. Breakfast is very good and a good range of choice. The ground floor bar/restaurant closed at 10,pm so all quiet after that. The soundproofing in the room was great. We avoid St.Ives in the season, so can't say what the hotel is like when the town and harbour are busy, but for off season it was just what we wanted.

Should have stayed a third night!

The Lifeboat Inn was over a great little pub and located in the center of St. Ives which was fantastic and the price was reasonable. The pub was very comfortable and with a good selection of ales. The room was very comfortable but was without a view.

The stairs to the second story where the rooms are located from the street entrance were extremely narrow and may not be appropriate for elderly or others. Breakfast was served only from 9:00 to 10:00 AM which made it difficult for those guests desiring a mid-morning getaway.

Area and the apartment was very nicely decorated in the main bedroom and living room kitchen etc

It was advertised for 4 , but although the bedroom was decorated beautifully the other sleeping quarters was just a sofa bed as you came into the property, this is ok except there was no tv offered in this area and worse of all the sofa bed was so lumpy it was unbelievable ! Fortunately we were so shattered and as we only slept there one night it was ok , but for £185 it was ok !

Great location with a beautiful view from the room. Friendly staff. Room was decorated beautifully and the bed was really comfortable. The included breakfast was lovely.

Can be a little noisy at times as you can hear guests in the rooms around you and due to the location a bit of street noise. Totally bearable just worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper. Some items on the breakfast menu were unavailable on the day. I ordered the scrambled eggs with Salmon and notsure the smoked salmon was all that fresh.

- nicely decorated spacious room and bathroom, booked seaside double room - Location (on the harbour) - Tea coffee maker in the room - Scrumptious hot breakfast

- noise from the street, morning garbage truck was parked right in front of the room window (which was open) so had to endure bad smell early morning - No early check in - Steep tiny stairs, no elevator - no soundproofing - could hear loud thuds and plumbing sounds from room upstairs
