Great full English breakfast in cosy welcoming dining room with open fire and daffodils on the tables. Very friendly service. Perfect location for everything I wanted to do in the town. Appreciated room being changed when discovered, due to recent storms, the TV and wifi in my roon weren't working. I was also happy to be moved to a room where it was possible to open the windows. Parking is quite expensive in the nearest car park just up the hill from the hotel. There are cheaper ones further away, but this is the price you pay for having a great central location which meant I could walk to the shops, the Tate and Barabara Hepworth museum and wide choice of restaurants for dinner in the evening.

Location, ten minutes from rail station, and next door to the cinema. Plenty of places to visit from rail station like Newquay, Falmouth, Bodmin and Penzance. Staff in breakfast room very polite and helpful. Liked the cookies and sweet left in my room every day. Good choice of breakfast, toast, fruit, cereal and yogurt. If you wanted cooked breakfast you could chose what way you wanted your eggs, and whatever combo of beans, sausage, tomatoes, bacon and egg you wanted

Old type key to room, not swipe. Old windows that rattled. Nearly fell over the step down twice outside the room as kept forgetting it was there! Breakfast time a bit rigid, pick a time and stick to it, but guess it's because the breakfast room is quite small

The breakfast was very good. Location was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The only downside was that there wasn't any parking on site. But there was a long stay car park about five minutes walk away.

The staff who clean the room are very helpful and were ready to meet our needs. The breakfast is very good, plenty of variety and all the food is freshly cooked. The hotel rooms and common passages are decorated with lovely watercolour pictures and posters of local scenes which look so attractive. location: The hotel is very handy for all facilities.

The Western is situated right in the heart of St Ives, a great location for access to the town and harbour areas. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The choice for breakfast was really good, ranging from a selection of fruit, yoghurts, cereal and a beautifully cooked full breakfast.

A lack of parking could pose a problem, but no more than anywhere else in St Ives.

Excellent breakfast and location . Hotel catered well for my dietary needs. I was very grateful of being given an upgrade to the studio suite on arrival as this helped be me able to cater for my dietary issues.

Was surprised to find Hotel only did food on a Sunday lunch time. Studio suite suited me wonderfully but my partner found it difficult at times as he is taller then me. The ceilings are sloping and low in places. Lighting was dim in evening but great in day as there are three sloping windows.

The breakfast was excellent, the room was at the front of the hotel just up one flight of stairs from reception. The location was great because it is in the centre of the town. All beaches close and plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby. We parked the car at the St Ives RFC for £42 for the week which is a very reasonable price for the area, the only problem was quite a hill to walk up to get the car but there are buses or taxis from outside the hotel. The walk down from the RFC carpark is ok in about 20 minutes.

Nothing to dislike.

I spent a few days in and around St Ives, mostly hiking. This was a good location, a clean room, great breakfast. Friendly staff. And of course St Ives is a beautiful place, worth a visit any time.

The room was small, but that didn't bother me at all. One of the days I had to attend a committee meeting on Zoom (bad scheduling). The Hotel had WiFi, but only on the day when I arrived. This otherwise wouldn't have bothered me, but because of the meeting, I had to walk down to the harbor, which seems to be the only place in St Ives where there is a strong enough cell signal for a Zoom call (at least for EE) -- but then it was getting cold and started raining as well. Anyway, in short, not ideal for online meetings and I had to drop the call finally. It was not absolutely crucial, but a working wifi would have been really nice (I had asked about it on the morning the day of, but apparently nothing happened by the afternoon when I needed it).

The Hotel is located right in the centre of town, really close to beaches and the ancient narrow streets. The room was warm and very comfortable. Jazz in the piano bar Tuesday evening was excellent. Local musicians in the ‘Kettle and Wink’ bar on Wednesday night were welcoming, creative and entertaining. We are musicians ourselves, and we were able to contribute some original songs of our own. Great night! Breakfast facilities and the food was very good value, and all the staff were friendly and actually hospitable.

The hotel facade was being renovated, adding to the parking problem all ‘historic tiny towns’ can have. The closest public car park is too far in the rain and is expensive. One unofficial loading bay out front of the hotel was in high demand, making it difficult to unload luggage especially in the rain. I do understand some of this is temporary and is a result of the renovation scaffolding. It’s the only issue in an otherwise excellent two days accommodation.

Everything. My husband and I booked a family room which was on the front of the hotel. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The toiletries were a nice touch in the bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was fab with a good selection of cereals/fruit and the cooked breakfast was very nice. We did use the Kettle & Wink bar which was part of the hotel and it was cosy with an excellent selection of beers/wines and spirits and a good schedule of evening music. The hotel itself is about a 5 minute walk to the harbour front, so ideally located. The hotel does not have onsite parking, but we used the council car park on the top of the hill. It was £7.70 for 24 hours. There is a closer car park but that was £16.00 per 24 hours. All of the staff we came into contact with were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We didn't have any trouble with noise due to the room having secondary glazing. The bathroom window did not have secondary glazing and you could hear the people on the street outside and the cars, so we kept the bathroom door shut at night! All in all, a very good stay and I would recommend The Western Hotel to anyone. We will definitely be returning.

Nothing - we had a really good break at The Western Hotel.
