The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to assist you with anything you may need. Due to the fact that our car had broken down we had to make due without but fortunately, there's a bus stop at 2 min' walk from the B&B so we took the bus to Marazion for our trip to St Michael's Mount and a taxi to the Minack Theatre. It is rather a distance away from Penzance centre but if you have a car, that shouldn't matter too much. Breakfast was great and the positive attitude of the hosts gets you in a good mood for the day immediately. The room is simple but spotless. The beds were rather soft but we didn't have any back pains regardless. We were allowed to store our luggage until the taxi arrived to take us to our next destination and received a special code to enter the house which was really nice. It's a pity there is no place to sit, outside of your room. Outside, there are also very limited possibilities with only one small table with two chairs at the entrance of the B&B.l As it is, that didn't bother us during our short stay (2 nights) and being in the B&B only to sleep anyway.

Clare and Kevin are excellent hosts. Most accommodating and knowledgeable of their surroundings. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean and the B&B tastefully decorated throughout. Breakfast was superb, one of the best we have had. High praise for Kevin's sausage and the general quality of the breakfast ingredients. Particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad. One reason we chose Bay Lodge was the free parking which was never a issue, being 5 minutes walk into Penzance and the railway station. Highly recommended, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Bay Lodge again and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

There genuinely wasn't anything we didn't like. The en suite was a little snug but that was more of an issue to do with the size of me!

Great place, we felt at home there. Bay Lodge is just a short walk to the train station and downtown. Clare was a wonderful hostess - she lent us a forgotten phone charger, prepared huge food and drink packages for us on the day of our early departure. The breakfasts were homely and great. We really can only recommend it. It's easy to get anywhere from Penzance, either by bus or train. We were thrilled with the train trip to St Ives. We tried the Cork & Fork restaurant right in Penzance on recommendation. And we have to confirm that it is great :-).

Clare and Kev are wonderful hosts, very warm, friendly and welcoming, they couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and very pretty with snacks, tea and coffee provided along with a scrumptious full Cornwall breakfast lovingly prepared by Kev each morning. Penzance train station is about a 10 minute walk and there’s a bus stop 3 minutes away which travels to most tourists attractions for only 5 pounds per day. I would definitely recommend Bay Lodge and are thankful to Clare and Kev for being such fabulous hosts.

Nothing to dislike

Kevin and Clare are exceptional hosts. Nothing any problem. Looked after well and advised on the local area including using the public transport system to get around. That if nothing else is the best bit of advice as the cost of parking massively exceeds the cost of a day ticket on the bus. Kevin's breakfast is a highlight. We would highly recommend Bay Lodge and can concur with the many other positive reviews.

There's nothing that we could be negative with.

In many ways, Bay Lodge was the haven we were looking for, not only to rest and recuperate, but also to get get a feel of the ‘Cornish’ way of life. Location wise, Bay Lodge is brilliant. It is in a perfect sweet spot, literally sitting atop one of the many 'beach' entry points to the South West Coast path; about a 45-min walk via a lovely beach to St Michael's Mount and further onwards, or about 5 mins the other way to Penzance, restaurants, main bus station etc. We took the opportunity to go for long long walks, helped by Claire and Kevin's amazing cooked breakfasts. Not unsurprisingly, and as many have commented before, it was Claire’s and Kevin’s thoughtful (yet unintrusive and professional) attention to every last detail that makes this awesome place just that - awesome. A home away home that we would go back to any day, any time... thank you both

located a short walk into Penzance Centre, with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, and near to the beach and train station. The property is kept spotless and furnished to a high standard, and hosts very friendly during our stay, We could park right outside, and the room was very comfortable. An exceptional breakfast with cereal, fresh fruit bowls, yoghurt, toast with jam/honey/marmite, excellent fresh coffee and cooked items to order - a real feast, and my vegan husband well catered for. The room is quiet, no intrusive noise from the road or railway, and a little seating area overlooking the window with sea view a welcome addition.

The only thing I would say is, an additional knife to use for butter or spread/jam etc on toast at breakfast, please.

I honestly couldn’t say a better word about our hosts. They were happy to let us check in early and even when we were delayed by 5 hours because of train strikes, they waited on site for us to arrive and were super helpful with advice on local places to visit, had a perfect sea view room ready for us and cooked up an amazing full English breakfast for us each morning to help us start our day. Location of the b&b was also perfect, a beautiful beach walk away from st Michael’s mount and 5 minutes from Penzance. 10/10 all round - couldn’t recommend enough!

Very friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble. Made us an early morning continental breakfast as we were getting an early ferry to the scily islands. Local knowledge was useful and made good recommendations for days out and restaurants. Accommodation was spotless, room and en suite were small but had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend this property

Claire and Kevin are wonderful hosts, attentive and communicative. My room and the rest of the facilities were immaculate and very comfortable. Parking was easy and convenient. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the hosts went out of their way to accommodate me when I mixed up the breakfast time and arrived too early.

The walls between bedrooms are quite thin, but all guests once arrived were quiet and respectful of noise. It’s a very minor point and not something the hosts can do anything more to improve.
