Convenient Location. Nice spacious room. A bath(albeit a short length one)

The open plan, not very welcoming restaurant. The waiting staff need to understand the menu options better - we were charged £4.50 for a side dish that supposedly was included with one of our main courses. The bedroom layout was strange. In a big spacious room the bed was positioned opposite the door into the room from the corridor. There was also a lamp bulb not working on the desk. My husband has walking difficulties and we asked to be able to use one of the emergency exits closer to the room to bring our luggage in. We were told no they were for emergencies only. An hour later the door was wide open and staff were using it. It remained open for ages.

Bed was comfortable and room was a decent size. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. Gym and pool area was great and never over crowded. Location is fairly remote but very lovely green area to the front, for working locally travel time was extended but worthwhile in my opinion as it was very quite. I had booked a hotel in Swindon centre for the week but changed my booking as was far too busy and noisy. This was off the beaten track and tranquil. I will be coming back next week and probably for the next 3 months I'll be working in the area. I didn't try the evening meal although from what I did see looked very good. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.

Not having a tennis partner No seriously the room could have been cleaner with dust and cobwebs but this does not take long to build up and the team do work hard with bed made every day. Lighting is very dim in room, put some bigger bulbs in as there are dimmer switches

I've stayed here on. 3 occasions now and can honestly say it's one our absolute favourites to visit. The staff (Cecile in particular) are wonderfuly welcoming and helpful. They've accommodated some lovely little touches to our room for special occasions and have really made our trips memorable. The mattresses are the only thing I could possibly say anything about, they're a bit firm for me but I have back issues and don't sleep well anyway. However, after requesting 2 duvets to use as a mattress topper I slept well and comfortably. The breakfast is always a treat. Buffet style with regular refills from the kitchen. I'd like to have had poached eggs as an option but that's the only thing I'd change.

The best part of staying in Alexandra House is its amazing location. The property is located in a calm and serene environment, i believe in a 200 acre plot, which is deal to take your mind off from regular hustle and bustle of the city life. Its a nice venue for weddings for a small batch and small family get togethers for a quick outing for those living in the near by town. The near by village is also a charm. However, please take your car for your travel convenience since the bus service is very very poor to the specific location.

I would prefer a bit of smile on the staffs faces in line with the hospitality industry standards. Also a small set of toiletries on demand such a tooth paste kit or a floss for those who have missed it could be useful. We were not able to find any still water bottles in the room or on a payable basis. Also the location is not accessible by public transport unless you plan well with the bus timings which is like once in 90 minutes

Lovely staff, all very helpful and professional, accommodated to all our needs. Wonderful facilities, we used them all. Tennis courts, Sauna, Steam room, cardio gym, strength and conditioning gym, jacuzzi and swimming pool. Rooms were comfy, great size bed and space in room. Free parking which is great. Breakfast was lovely too, good spread and options. Great outdoor space to walk around grass/landscape.

Room lighting is very dark, small ceiling lights. Even with all lights (including bed size light and reading light) the room isn’t bright. Opened curtain to get better lighting. No fridge in room. The shower area has a bath which is fine but the glass connected to the side of the bath to prevent water leaking out needs to be longer as you can wet the floor very easily.

The property is set in lovely grounds. It’s very clean. There is great pool facilities, sauna, steam room, gym and jacuzzi. The bar area is nice. It’s really dog friendly. I came with my dogs and was given an accessible room on the ground floor right by the door so I take them straight out to walk on the grounds. The reception staff were all really lovely and really helpful. They were also very accommodating. It was warm when I stayed and they gave me a cool room which I requested but also provided me with a fan on request. The breakfast was nice and adequate. A fair selection of food at the bar area where you can eat with the dogs. I was really impressed with the property and how accommodating they are. It’s an excellent place to come with the dogs. A short drive away there’s lots of nice dog walks too although lots of grounds on site for a walk aswell If you don’t want to drive anywhere. I think the price was really cheap considering what you get.

Staff were all polite and friendly. Location was well presented with well-tended grounds. Room was comfortable with all facilities as advertised. This hotel was convenient for our reason for travel which was to visit the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford [Several of the air force display teams involved were also staying there].

Restaurant selection was reduced on the Sunday evening and offered items mediocre in nature. The bathroom in our room was looking a little tired with enamel chipped in the bath tub, door veneer peeling and a toilet cistern that operated itself every 45 seconds all night - not ideal!

Excellent hotel with excelelnt facilities & very firendly staff

The restaurant service for Dinner is very slow at times. Could do with more staff at peak times to help ensure cusotmers are not left waiitng ages for service. One of the two showers in the Male Changing room was out of service for the whole weekend. The taps on the showers near the sauna/steam room were hard to control meaning water was left running by some guests who struggled to turn off the tap (very wasteful and environmetally unfriendly - which could so easily be avoided by changing the shower taps). The holes cut in the wooden area for the hair dryesr had not been sealed and looked terrible due to water damage resulting. needs fixing - poor maintenance standards and so easily fixed if they want 5 stars.

Breakfast was good, the room was very comfortable but the dinner was not what we expected from the size of the establishment. The Menu was not really up to scratch and the waiters were very idle.

As I Said above the Waiters were idle, we were showed to our table and asked if we wanted a drink, we asked for two small ciders and we waited, waited and waited for over half an hour. Finally I complained and found them all around the lecturn chatting. When I asked where are our drinks I was told that there were no bar staff, but a coach load ariived and the had entered while we were waiting and most had got drinks, this I pointed out. I did make a complaint to the reception next morning and am pleased to say she dealt with it very professionally.

Food in the restaurant in the evening was lovely as was the breakfast, room was very clean and comfortable.

The restaurant staffing was young adults/teens. Mostly stood around talking, some were quite rude when you had asked them for something or when even asking for a table reservation. Not best pleased about that as we were paying for a room and food and drinks. We wasn’t rude or abrupt so would like to have been treated in the same manner. When one was rude a young girl had giggled, a little immature but there was no adult to make sure they were doing what they were paid for.
