We arrived to find Booking.com had double-booked the room and we weren't expected by the pub, despite an email to say we were ! The staff at the Lamb dealt with this very competently and within about 20 minutes found us a room which was extremely comfortable and nothing to find fault with. The full English breakfast the next morning was excellent.

Service at breakfast was perhaps a little slow and one or two things had not been put out (marmalade?)......but we weren't in any great hurry and it wasn't a problem for us - we were quite happy with our stay.

The Lamb Inn is a pretty whitewashed pub decked with colourful well tended window boxes. My bedroom was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed and even with the hot and humid weather I slept very well. The breakfast was a "Full English" which I haven't had for years. Naughty but nice! All the Staff went out of their way to make me feel at home and to help me find my way around. The location of the Lamb Inn is ideal, right in the centre of Marlborough, but tucked into a narrow lane only a few meters from the main street so well away from any traffic. The Lamb Inn is ideal for those seeking simple homely accommodation.

The Lamb Inn was nice hotel close to the centre of town. I believe it was the best pub in town. There was a great restaurant next door Dan's where I had supper. In the morning I looked for a Cafe to have breakfast. All of them were closed, but opened at 9.00..can you believe it? I did not wait, and eventually I found a cafe just 3 min from the Hotel! (next to Starbucks). Beautiful Croissant, Strawberry Jam, a Pot of Tea, and free newspaper to read... a magical stay!

Excellent full English breakfast. All ingredients were high quality and really well cooked. Pub itself is basic and traditional but warm and welcoming and serves excellent beer. Rooms were small, very clean and cosy. Bed was very comfortable although a bit short for me (I'm 6 foot 2")

We had to choose our breakfast the evening before, which just limits decision making on the morning. The pub garden you walk through between the pub and the stables was cluttered and messy but the rooms themselves were immaculate.

The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was splendid - really set us up for the day - we all had full English - mostly meaty but one veggie and the veggie sausages were lovely. Also, for parking, there was ample overnight parking on the street and in the little triangular parking area within 100 yards. there was live music on the Saturday night we stayed and it finished promptly at just gone 11pm so didn't interfere with our sleep. They also serve local beer from Wadworths in Devizes.

We hadn't realised that there wasn't food on a Saturday evening but that didn't matter as the Lamb is very very close to the centre of town. And steep stairs to the bedrooms in the stable block weren't an issue for us but might be tricky for anyone with mobility issues.

The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a 4 night stay. The breakfast was exceptional. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the proprietors went out of their way to resolve any issues. We shall certainly return.

The position of our bedroom meant that there was some disturbance from the noise from the pub, but only till 11am on busy nights. If you choose to stay at a pub then you expect some disturbance.

So accommodating and apologies to the lovely lady who made us exactly what we wanted for breakfast, so sorry we couldn’t eat due to my daughter being quite poorly (hospitalised on our return home!!)

Nothing we didn’t like, as former residents of Marlborough for many years we made a calculated choice with this booking and were very happy Booking.com however are a different matter altogether! Despite booking pay on departure full funds were taken out of my account 2 days before trip! No issue with the venue though!

There was a selection of breakfast foods, I opted for the full English breakfast which was very good, the sausages and bacon were very good quality and the woman who cooked the breakfasts and served them up was fun and friendly. All the staff were good to deal with and they took a flexible approach to things, they allowed us to check out a little later than normal.

There wasn't anything I did not like.

This is my second stay here and I was not disappointed. The breakfast's are amazing. They are freshly made and so delicious. They certainly set you up for the day. The service is excellent and everyone is friendly. They make you feel so welcome and at home.

I wish they served food at night but that said, there are plenty of eating places on the door step. They do serve food during the day which looked and smelled very tasty!

The breakfast was enormous; more like a Full English Dinner. Coffee tasted great. My bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were very nice and welcoming and efficient. Beautiful bedroom. Great atmospheric pub. Would be happy to spend more nights there. Ideal base for exploring historic Wiltshire.

The bathroom was fine but it needs a refurb. Nothing drastic but removing the glass shelf above the basin would be a good idea. It is hanging off anyway. Also, the kettle leaked although I didn't need to use it.
